they never contacted me via phone or email to resolve this matter! never offered to give me my money back! I have saved on my phon the org. add the price was for $2000 and stated in good working condition it never worked right from the start. this deep fryer was from the 80's which was never stated and when calling the company that made it(keating) was told they don't even make parts for it.you cant tell me they tested this deep fryer and didn't smell the gas leak we noticed it right away. I new this fryer was not going to be new but if he is such a great business owner he would have tried making this right, I'm sorry but I feel I was ripped off. I don't feel I should have to bring it back down there to get my money back when it should never have been sold in the first place. I have his deep fryer here wrapped up and in the same condition I got . I can and will get notericed statements from everyone in volved on this end that it was not in working order .

I am responding to the complaint from a customer. I did advertise this unit on EBay for $1,500.00. I did state it was removed in working condition when it was removed and it was. We also advertised it with no returns allowed. 
She had contacted me by phone to purchase it and...

would be sending her technician and two friends to pick up the unit. They came down, inspected the unit and offered me $1,400.00 for it. I agreed and told them it was sold as is. 
There was a retail price on there for $3,995.00, and this unit new sold for $20,000.00. I received a call several days later stating they had a problem with the unit. I talked to their technician to identify the problem. I then had my technician 
talk to their technician. They identified the problem as a leak in the manifold. My technician gave him two suggestions to  repair and their technician stated that he does not do that type of work. I asked my technician what the cost would 
be to repair something of this nature. He stated it would cost approximately $600.00. We were not aware of the problem beforehand as she accuses me of. I did state to her that since you bought the item at a wholesale price I would have to 
charge you for repairs. As far as the fresh wrench marks that she had stated, I feel her technician or maintenance man had something to do with this. I did email her and stated that I would buy back the unit for $1,000.00 and she has not 
responded since. I feel that I am being very generous and fair in this offer. We do have a sign posted in the front office that states all items returned are subject to a 40% restocking fee for new or used equipment.
S&P Equipment has been doing business for over 30 years with no complaints. We service the Roundy's corporation and over 200 restaurants. Our eBay store has a 100% satisfaction rating with 240 transactions. We have sold on eBay since
November 16, 1999. I feel that this customer purchased this unit at a whole sale price and as a as is condition thinking the unit was going to be new. Again, I feel that I was very generous in my offer. I will contact her to make things right and 
offer her $1,400.00 if she returns it intact.
