My name is Brooke S [redacted] I am replying from S&S Auto Repair located at S Main St Oberlin, OH I have attached documents which are the copies of [redacted] [redacted] recieptsI will refer to them from the dates in the right corner [redacted] and his girlfriend [redacted] had been in to the shop multiple times due to their check engine light on their Buick LaCrosseHowever, he forgot to mention that the $he spent with us was other repairs made to make his car safe the first time because it was notRefer to first attachment 9-28-When customers drop their cars off to be fixed, under the instructions section is where we list all that the customers concerns with their vehicleYou can see that they dropped it off and wanted the power steering leak fixed, the sway bar links were broke, they had a bad driver's side rear caliper, check engine light code came up LARGE EVAP leak detected, which then in a different color ink you can see that we put R&R Evap vent valve after the check engine issue was detectedNow when customers drop their car off we always tell them it's $for us to put the vehicle on the smoke machine to see if we can figure out where the leak is coming fromNo guarantee but most cases are successful! They decided not to fix the bad caliper this time but approved $worth of work to be done and once we started and found another issue, they didn't answer either phone number they gave us and did not have voicemails set upThere was nothing we could do but completely fix the car and get it off our liftWhen this happens it is very frustrating for both us and the customerWe have to do what we got to do b/c we can't have our lifts tied up all day waiting for the customer to call us back to approve a $partor whatever the cost may beThere bill turned out to be $the first time aroundThey weren't happy b/c of the extra $but they paid itThere bill should have actually been $but after they did not answer their phones and got to the shop to pick it up, we ended up taking $off the labor and did NOT charge them for the smoke machine test which was $Now it absolutely baffles me that people drop their cars off, leave a grocery list of problems that need to be fixed, especially when they know the car is unsafe like this one wasAnyways, we took $off their bill to make them happy and to not cause any issues of he said/she said about them not answering the phone but go figure, "never got a call and we left two numbers." [redacted] but whateverWe would rather make them happy and not make an issue and lose them as customersFast forward to bill from 10-19-Like most times, their check engine light came back onIt still had an EVAP leak which is common especially when their first one was very largeWe put it on the smoke machine again ($75) and had the part store warranty the EVAP vent valve which we returned as "defective." The part store only replaces the part for free, not the labor Keith has to pay his guys to work on all over againNo big dealReset the engine light in hopes it would stay off this time and sent them on their way, free of chargeN/C = no charge on the bill. Now fast forward to bill from 10-24-yet again, their check engine light came back onThis happens often for many vehicles and it's a total pain! You could chase check engine codes over over and over againThere are SO many different sensors in vehicles, exhaust anything will throw codes, the tiniest smallest little pin hole will throw codes and come back EVAP leakSo you get the frustration of the mechanic and business owner [redacted] and [redacted] did not need an Echeck or to renew their plates so the check engine light really isn't a big deal because the car was running just fineBut some people are funny about it and want to get it offGreat! Cool! Sure we can try again but we are not going to do it for free since this is not our fault it's not going offIt's your carI believe this was the time they brought in a sheet from [redacted] where they had put it on the scanner and said the EVAP canister purge valve was faultyOkThey dropped it off again, with the sheet and told us what [redacted] had suggestedThey dropped it off to be fixedWe did what they had asked us to doCharged them just like we would have charged ay customer asking us to fix their problem that they and [redacted] *** diagnosed themselvesA whopping $Sent them on their way.Now this is where it came to me, Brooke, the lady at the front deskI called Keith, explained to him they were back again over their check engine lightSame thingEVAP leakI told them they could pay us to put it on the smoke machine AGAIN ((even though out of every timothy had been back, not ONCE have they been charged for us doing the workpretty nice I'd say!)) and see what they come up with however, Keith's suggestion to you is to not worry about the check engine light b/c you do not need to get an Echeck or to renew your plates anytime soon and instead of worrying about the [redacted] EVAP leak which is probably the tiniest hole, isn't smelling into the car at all to be unsafe worry about your leaky caliper that is a safety issue for you both and your brand new babyThat is what you should be worried about, not coming in here every other week trying to get us to fix your car for freeThey have been very rude and [redacted] every time [redacted] has called Keith on the problem acting like it's our fault their car keeps throwing codesHe has been more than nice everytimeSome times, it's better to just cut ties before it gets out of handI handed them their papers back and said, well, apparently you are unhappy with us and apparently, we can't fix your issue ..(which they only have $into) I know times are tough, believe me! We try to do everybody right but some people you just cannot please! Some people literally have almost a $in exhaust, check engine light code stuffMore than that even! Crazy but it is what it isOk so anyways, I told them to try another repair shopknowing ANY OTHER PLACE WOULD CHARGE THEM FOR EVERY SECOND THEY WORKED ON THEIR CAR! I want them to understand how fair we had beenThey wanted us to fix some [redacted] issue for free instead of actually paying to have their hazard safety issue attended toBoo hooyou got a new baby? Congrats! Fix your car so it's safeI was done dealing with themThey never spent $on their issue that they addressed to the Revdex.comRefer to first bill from 9-28-You can see that the parts on the left for their check engine light issue was $for the EVAP vent valve, $on the smoke machine and read under the instructions part where it says hour for the labor for the R&R of the vent valvewhere the totaling is done, you can see where we crossed out the smoke machine test for $b/c they don't know how to answer their phone and were pissed about their billSo that is a total of $they were charged on the issue they are sending the complaint about to Revdex.comwe charged $80/hour for labor so we charged them $to R&R the partdidn't charged them on the second bill at all and then the third they spent $Now I am not the best at math but I'm pretty sure those two together equal $not $We don't mess with people who are ungrateful and expect something for nothingThat is why I happily sent them on their wayWe would rather not have customers like that

This business response was received by Revdex.com via email and is a copy/paste by Revdex.com staff member **.Please also refer to the attached invoices submitted by the business via email.COMPLAINT REPLY : ID [redacted]Hi [redacted]! My name is Brooke S[redacted]. I am replying from S&S Auto Repair located at 141 S....

Main St Oberlin, OH 44074. I have attached 3 documents which are the copies of [redacted] reciepts. I will refer to them from the dates in the right corner. [redacted] and his girlfriend [redacted] had been in to the shop multiple times due to their check engine light on their 2005 Buick LaCrosse. However, he forgot to mention that the $600 he spent with us was other repairs made to make his car safe the first time because it was not. Refer to first attachment 9-28-2017 .. When customers drop their cars off to be fixed, under the instructions section is where we list all that the customers concerns with their vehicle. You can see that they dropped it off and wanted the power steering leak fixed, the sway bar links were broke, they had a bad driver's side rear caliper, check engine light code came up LARGE EVAP leak detected, which then in a different color ink you can see that we put R&R Evap vent valve after the check engine issue was detected. Now when customers drop their car off we always tell them it's $75 for us to put the vehicle on the smoke machine to see if we can figure out where the leak is coming from. No guarantee but most cases are successful! They decided not to fix the bad caliper this time but approved $400 worth of work to be done and once we started and found another issue, they didn't answer either phone number they gave us and did not have voicemails set up. There was nothing we could do but completely fix the car and get it off our lift. When this happens it is very frustrating for both us and the customer. We have to do what we got to do b/c we can't have our lifts tied up all day waiting for the customer to call us back to approve a $40 part.. or whatever the cost may be. There bill turned out to be $508.86 the first time around. They weren't happy b/c of the extra $100 but they paid it. There bill should have actually been $695.67 but after they did not answer their phones and got to the shop to pick it up, we ended up taking $100 off the labor and did NOT charge them for the smoke machine test which was $75.00. Now it absolutely baffles me that people drop their cars off, leave a grocery list of problems that need to be fixed, especially when they know the car is unsafe like this one was. Anyways, we took $175.00 off their bill to make them happy and to not cause any issues of he said/she said about them not answering the phone but go figure, "never got a call and we left two numbers." [redacted] but whatever. We would rather make them happy and not make an issue and lose them as customers. Fast forward to bill from 10-19-17 .. Like most times, their check engine light came back on. It still had an EVAP leak which is common especially when their first one was very large. We put it on the smoke machine again ($75) and had the part store warranty the EVAP vent valve which we returned as "defective." The part store only replaces the part for free, not the labor Keith has to pay his guys to work on all over again. No big deal. Reset the engine light in hopes it would stay off this time and sent them on their way, free of charge. N/C = no charge on the bill. Now fast forward to bill from 10-24-17 .. yet again, their check engine light came back on. This happens often for many vehicles and it's a total pain! You could chase check engine codes over over and over again. There are SO many different sensors in vehicles, exhaust anything will throw codes, the tiniest smallest little pin hole will throw codes and come back EVAP leak. So you get the frustration of the mechanic and business owner. [redacted] and [redacted] did not need an Echeck or to renew their plates so the check engine light really isn't a big deal because the car was running just fine. But some people are funny about it and want to get it off. Great! Cool! Sure we can try again but we are not going to do it for free since this is not our fault it's not going off. It's your car. I believe this was the time they brought in a sheet from [redacted] where they had put it on the scanner and said the EVAP canister purge valve was faulty. Ok. They dropped it off again, with the sheet and told us what [redacted] had suggested. They dropped it off to be fixed. We did what they had asked us to do. Charged them just like we would have charged ay customer asking us to fix their problem that they and [redacted] diagnosed themselves. A whopping $82.73. Sent them on their way.Now this is where it came to me, Brooke, the lady at the front desk. I called Keith, explained to him they were back again over their check engine light. Same thing. EVAP leak. I told them they could pay us to put it on the smoke machine AGAIN .. ((even though out of every timothy had been back, not ONCE have they been charged for us doing the work.. pretty nice I'd say!)) and see what they come up with however, Keith's suggestion to you is to not worry about the check engine light b/c 1. you do not need to get an Echeck or to renew your plates anytime soon and 2. instead of worrying about the [redacted] EVAP leak which is probably the tiniest hole, isn't smelling into the car at all to be unsafe .. worry about your leaky caliper that is a safety issue for you both and your brand new baby. That is what you should be worried about, not coming in here every other week trying to get us to fix your car for free. They have been very rude and [redacted] every time [redacted] has called Keith on the problem acting like it's our fault their car keeps throwing codes. He has been more than nice everytime. Some times, it's better to just cut ties before it gets out of hand. I handed them their papers back and said, well, apparently you are unhappy with us and apparently, we can't fix your issue ..(which they only have $236.72 into) I know times are tough, believe me! We try to do everybody right but some people you just cannot please! Some people literally have almost a $1000 in exhaust, check engine light code stuff. More than that even! Crazy but it is what it is. Ok so anyways, I told them to try another repair shop.. knowing ANY OTHER PLACE WOULD CHARGE THEM FOR EVERY SECOND THEY WORKED ON THEIR CAR! I want them to understand how fair we had been. They wanted us to fix some [redacted] issue for free instead of actually paying to have their hazard safety issue attended to. Boo hoo.. you got a new baby? Congrats! Fix your car so it's safe. I was done dealing with them. They never spent $600 on their issue that they addressed to the Revdex.com. Refer to first bill from 9-28-2017 .. You can see that the parts on the left for their check engine light issue was $38.99 for the EVAP vent valve, $75 on the smoke machine and read under the instructions part where it says .5 hour for the labor for the R&R of the vent valve.. where the totaling is done, you can see where we crossed out the smoke machine test for $75.00 b/c they don't know how to answer their phone and were pissed about their bill. So that is a total of $78.99 they were charged on the issue they are sending the complaint about to Revdex.com.. we charged $80/hour for labor so we charged them $40 to R&R the part. .. didn't charged them on the second bill at all and then the third they spent $82.73. Now I am not the best at math but I'm pretty sure those two together equal $161.72 not $600.00. We don't mess with people who are ungrateful and expect something for nothing. That is why I happily sent them on their way. We would rather not have customers like that.
