Review: S&S was contracted to begin work at our home on May ** at 9am. They were paid 1/3 of the total at the time of contract signing. They were replacing an entire AC system. They showed up late and left early on the job that day. On that first day they were paid another 1/3 of the contracted agreement. They returned the following day and ran into "problems" on the job and did not complete it in the time frame they told us it would be completed in (two days). They left on May ** promising to return the next morning to complete the job. On May **, I took off from work, boarded my dogs for a third (unplanned day) and waited for them to show up. They never did. We called them at 10:30AM to find out they had an "emergency" and would be at our home in the early afternoon. They never showed up and they never called. We finally were able to get a hold of someone at 4:30 on May **. We were told they could come the next morning. Due to a family emergency, my husband and I could not personally be there on May **, but we had a friend come and stay to watch the workmen. We now had to board my dogs for a fourth day. When S&S allegedly completed the job around 1:30 on May **, they called looking for the remaining 1/3 of the payment. My husband explained that clearly we weren't there to inspect the work and needed to make sure everything was operating before making the final payment. [redacted], who was the foreman on the job, told my husband the system was working and it had "already dropped several degrees in the house." My husband said [redacted] you, but I can't pay you until I see the final work. [redacted] said okay, and hung up. When I returned home on the afternoon of May **, the house was 76 degrees and the AC wasn't working. We called to find out why and the owner told us it is because it's not turned on and he will not turn it on until we pay him.

He never acknowledged or apologized for not showing up the day before, until my husband said something. [redacted] also did not say at any point on the call with my husband earlier in the day that if we didn't pay they would shut off the system. S&S also left a debris all over my home, destroyed my ceiling, and ruined carpet in my hallway and my son's bedroom. We were not offered any compensation for them not showing up and breaching their contract, or for the cleanup and destruction of my home.Desired Settlement: I want to be compensated for my dog's boarding, my day lost at work, new carpet since it now needs to be replaced because the grease stains won't come out, the repair of my ceiling and the return of the last 1/3 of my payment since they breached their contract by not showing up and not calling to tell us they weren't coming.

Review: S & S Heating was hired to replace our existing central air unit. After installing the new unit, they did not follow through with 3 items that were written on the contract. They did not replace the grill, they did not replace the thermostat, they did not suspend it from the rafters. All of these items were written in their contract that myself and the company signed. Besides for not following through on the contract, they also caused additional damage to my home. They broke our attic fan and caused water damage to our ceiling due to a leak in the attic.Desired Settlement: To inform others of the insufficient job done by this company. I would also like a refund in order to get the unit installed properly. In addition, I would like to receive compensation for the damage they caused in my home regarding the fan and leak.

Sony for the delay in answering your complaint.

This complaint is completely bogus and this customer did not even pay for the job. There is still $1,600.00 owed to S & S Fuel Company by Mr. & Mrs [redacted].

Regarding the thermostat and the grill, They did not want these items changed because they were responsible to do the repairs and repaint the areas because of the different size thermostat and grill. As for the unit not being hung, the installers replaced the unit as it was previously done without hanging it.

As for the attic fan, it was not in working order when we went to estimate the job. It was not our responsibility to replace it so the water coming from the roof was not caused by this company.

This equipment belongs to S & S Fuel Company because it was not completely paid for. The balance is still due S & S Fuel for the check that the [redacted] bounced after making us come to get paid on two occasions then asking for a paymelll plan after the fact.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

S & S Fuel Company has lied about everything in their response.

Review: S&S sent a technician to allegedly clean my oil burner on October **, 2013. My chimney began smoking in the morning on Sunday,November **, 2013. I called and left a message on the emergency service for S&S that same morning. Someone from S&S called hours later and said it was probably an adjustment from the cleaning which needed to be made and that S&S would call me in the morning on November **, 2013. I had to call another burner service to come on November **, 2013 as I could not leave the chimney smoking that way. It turns out the burner was never cleaned in the first place and that both the burner and chimney were clogged. In addition, the wrong size nozzle was put on my burner. Therefore, S&S was paid for a service that was not performed and S&S also committed fraud by charging for labor twice as indicated on the receipt. No one from S&S called in the morning on November **, 2013 and when I called and spoke with one "[redacted]" at S&S and told her my complaints and that I wanted a cash refund that day, she was very belligerent and hung up on me. It is obvious from her behavior that S&S probably gets many complaints. No one from S&S has called me back regarding the fraud that they have committed and the refund that S&S owes me.Desired Settlement: I want a full cash refund for $180.00 which includes the false double labor charge and the tip that the supposed tech did not deserve in the first place.
