Review: The following letter was sent to S&S Roofing in June of 2014 explaining the problem and desired resolution in full:

The end of June 2013 I contacted S&S Roofing to have a roof leak repaired at my home with the above address. This leak had caused damage to an interior wall in my second floor bedroom. The work on the roof was completed, I was told “You are water tight now” and I was invoiced for $350 on July 1, 2013. I paid this invoice in full on July 20, 2013 (check #[redacted]).

I subsequently had a drywall person come in to repair the damage to the wall and unfortunately, after he came back to apply a second top coat it was apparent the roof leak was not fixed. It was raining out that weekend and the drywall compound never dried out.

I re-contacted S&S roofing and they came out again to attempt to repair the problem. Once again the repair did not fix the leak. Unfortunately several months passed as this cycle of repair, wait for a storm to test the repair, re-contact S&S and wait for someone to show up continued. The last conversation that I had with Mr. [redacted] sometime around October of 2013 was unproductive. I was told, “I came out there personally last time and looked everything over, and it can’t be the roof”. S&S never came back out to my home to attempt to repair the leak and eventually the freezing weather of winter came and I was now stuck until springtime.

Warm winter days, springtime thawing etc. and my roof still leaked and I have been unable to complete the interior repairs to my home and list it to be sold. As you are aware winter held on forever this year but when things did warm up I contacted another company to make the necessary repairs to my roof. The owner came down with about a half of tube of roofing caulk/cement that he tore off of the roof in the area of the leak and said this isn’t how you repair roof leaks. Thankfully he was able to find and repair the problem and my roof is no longer leaking.

Given the problems, significant delays in service as well as the inability of S&S to actually repair the roof leak I am asking for a refund of no less than $250 of the $350 that I paid to your company. I hope to hear from you by July 3, 2014 but if I do not I will pursue other options to resolve this issue.

This roof was originally installed poorly and had six or seven different leaks. We made the repairs for $350.00 The area where it was leaking was around the soffit and facsia.
