I highly recommend Layman Masonry, it is a company of great reputation in Lexington and surrounding cities. They did an outstanding job at my house building a large stone steps and patio, and repairing a floor basement adding steel post, and other major projects. The cost was $22,500, very affordable for all the work done. I selected this company for their character and integrity after 42 years of been in business, they have an A rating with Revdex.com. Review: I contracted S&S Seal Coating to seal my driveway in July of last year. They came over did the job and they were paid in full. I noticed a few spots where it seemed that the sealer was peeling off in November. I called and left a message on the answering machine to have someone call me.That never happened. So I called again in 2-3 weeks and I got the same message so I left another message to call me. I heard nothing. I then thought that maybe they were closed for the winter when I did not hear from them. So I called in March and someone answered the phone and I told them my problem and they were very rude and said why did I not call sooner. As I tried to explained they said someone would be over to look at it. No one came. I tried to call again and was told the mailbox was full. I have tried 4 times to contact them and have got no where but a full mailbox. Since this started there are many places that are peeling now and looks awful. Don't know if company was sold or are still in business. Can you please look into this for me. Sincerely [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like company to come over and redo the job the right way. Or if they can not refund my $350.00 and I will find someone else.

I apologize for not responding sooner. I am responding to a complaint that was made by [redacted]. I am actually the new owner of S&S Sealcoating, my older brothers were the original owners as of May 2014. My father, ([redacted], senior) and I, ([redacted]) took over the business, so we did not do the work on the driveway. My brother had me go look at [redacted] driveway in March. When I went and looked at it he has clutter and sink holes in the driveway. Anywhere there is a sink hole and there is standing water, sealer will not stay in those spots. Driveway sealer is a water based material, anytime there is standing water on top of the sealer, it will eventually break down the sealer and make it peel off. The other spots where the sealer peeled is where snow wasn't shoveled off and it ended up making the sealer peel off.
