Review: The owner [redacted] installed a remote start in my truck when he worked for [redacted]....there were numerous issues with it including it would not start when it was cold outside. That business folded and my truck started shutting down while driving. I took it in too my regular mechanic who could not diagnose the problem but suspected it to me the remote start shoting out and shuting down the electrical system. I called and made an appointment with SS Sounds on Wed Jun 5th. Truck died again this morning and when I called SS SOunds to ask if the vehicle could be towed there.....[redacted] told his recepionist (Yes I could hear him) that he didn't want to push the vehicle in and out of the bay......so could I jump the battery. I explained that the remote he put in was shorting and shutting down the electrical sysytem which han nothing to do with the battery. The recepionist was left asking me mnically.....what can I do for you.......hmmmmm....[redacted] put this remote start in my truck and it is making my truck not run, how about you take it out......she says only if your truck is running. OMG are these people for real.

Take this remote system that you installed out of my truck.....since you failed to live up to your end of the bargin, I have had to bring it to Ford..........DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS EVER!!!!

Custumer states that I put this system in her vehicle while working at [redacted]. There is no proof that I was even the installer of this system. No receipt no nothing. I dont remember this person and there were multiple people working at that shop. I also was in no part, an owner of [redacted]. So I am not liable of any work that was done there, and definitely not going to give them a refund. That's like buying something from Kmart and now trying to get a refund from Walmart because Kmart is no longer in business. Its just silly.

"I" as "OWNER" of "SS SOUNDS" have the sole discretion on whether or not to provide service to any customer that walks into my store. I am not bound by what may or may not have happened at a different business owned by someone else. I did offer to look at it for the normal shop rate of $90/hr which she agreed to when we set up the appointment. So obviously she knows that im not liable and not going to do warranty work on this vehicle. It is not my fault she was having problems on the day of her appointment. All she had to do was get it started with a jump start. Yes we did not want to push it in, as our garage entrance is uphill. You cannot push a truck in or out. And since we did not do the install and is not under warranty through us, it is my discretion to tell the customer that the vehicle must me running to get into the garage. As far a taking it to her mechanic, even he could not determine what was causing the issues. He "suspected" that it was the remote start. Basically he was guessing. That is like asking a plumber to fix the wiring in your house. No mechanics in this town install remote starts. If they cant fix the vehicle they just automatically assume the remote start is the problem and 99% of the time they are wrong. I have never refused to work of fix a vehicle that has something installed "at this shop" and will continue that. But I'm not liable for another shops sale. Go complain to that owner! This whole complaint is absurd!

I forgot to mention that I have been in business since February of 2010. The day after[redacted] shut down. So i've been in business for over 3 years and have never heard from this lady until recently. There is no way SS Sounds should be liable for something that was done at another company, especially when warranty period is one year.[redacted] warranty policy was one year for parts and labor. My policy for product purchased through SS Sounds is lifetime warranty for remote starts and 1 year on the install labor. I "DO NOT" do warranty work for another company or product which was not purchased at SS Sounds. Especially when that warranty period is past.
