Review: The contractor assigned to me from this company, [redacted], has made my life [redacted]. My kitchen was supposed to be fully remodeled along with my powder room by the end of August according to the contract I signed. It is now coming to be mid January and the job is still incomplete. The kitchen has numerous tasks that still need to be done and my powder room is not functional at all. The vanity, tiling, toilet, etc still need to be finished. I have pictures and videos to prove it.Every time this contractor gives me a new excuse. The first time his mother died, the second time his daughter's boyfriend died, the third time it snowed, the fourth time it rained, the fifth time he got his appendix removed, and the list goes on. Before I felt bad for him, but now I feel as if I am being played around with. I have text messages to prove it.My husband and I have made the payment to him almost in full and so he has no reason to come back and finish the job. We have been stressing over this issue for the past five months and something needs to be done! No more excuses will work. I need to take this issue to court if something does not get done soon.Desired Settlement: Either I want my money back in full, or I need the job done within the next month.

Review: Contracted with S & W Building designs LLC as a result of a referral from a mutual client. Work included replacement of roof, windows and siding along with gutters and new garage door & automatic opener. Contract began March 2013. Excessive delays due to weather and inability to contact [redacted], GC to get materials delivered in a timely fashion for work to begin. He indicated windows would be ordered from [redacted], but actual vendor was [redacted] Comany, which also supplied siding materials. Work progressed very slowly due to lack of full crew of sub-contractors to complete the work. It was apparent lack of money was an issue for the GC as he asked for payment before siding and window installation was completed. The work was completed and PAID-IN-FULL on July 12, 2013.

I received a phone call approximately 3 weeks ago from [redacted] Company regarding payment due to them for the materials delivered to my home for the work I contracted S & W Building Designs to do. The conversation turned into a "threat " of placing a Mechanic's Lien on my property if payment was not received. I immediately contacted [redacted] to get an explanation. He assured me the issue was handled and I would receive a letter indicating [redacted] had been paid.

To date, I have received no such letter. In fact, on Monday 8/12/13, I picked up a certified letter addressed to me from [redacted] again stating they had not been paid for materials and that if no payment was received by 8/26/13, they would seek to file a Mechanic's Lien. I have consulted with an attorney and followed instructions on my response to both [redacted] and S & W Designs, LLC.

This is all a result of extremely poor management and inefficient accounting practices by S&W Building Designs, LLC.Desired Settlement: Will seek legal action to prevent any attempts of a Mechanic's Lien being placed on my property and demand restitition for any/all fees incurred to do so.
