November 12, 2014 Re: Revdex.com Comp# [redacted] Dear [redacted], Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond and make things right! Our policy is to always inform the customer of all the cost before our technician...
starts the job. In this case, unfortunately, the technician failed to inform the client of the additional charges for the additional work needed to complete the job. Our manager called the client and reassured him of our policy to inform the client before any job is done. The calculated amount based on the quotation was $20 x 5 locks (there were 4 doors, one door had 2 locks) plus the $19.00 for service charge. Therefore a check for $155.83 was mailed, on October 28, 2014, to the client’s satisfaction. Our goal is to keep our clients satisfied with our service, and we are happy to announce we were able to resolve this dispute to our client’s satisfaction. Thank you so much, [redacted] General manager S.A. Locksmith & Security
I got locked out of my house at 11 pm at night. I figured there would be an extra charge for coming out late. However, they advertise on their website as 24/7. When I called, I asked what it would cost. The guy on the phone said $19 for the guy to come out and then it would cost about $40 to unlock my door depending on the complexity of the lock. So I'm thinking not so bad....I have a pretty common door lock. The guy comes out (was very nice and pleasant) and unlocks my door in 5 minutes. I'm pleased until I get the bill - $181!! I asked him about it and he says the guy on the phone can only give an estimate. I don't see how 5 minutes of jimmying the lock is worthy of $181. I think what bothered me the most was that it was quoted to me at a much, much lower cost. If the guy on the phone is only giving an estimate, then he should give a high/low range on the potential cost. I didn't have any choice but to pay them since they already did the work.
