Saadis Auto Service Reviews (1)

Review: When I took my truck to be serviced six weeks ago at Precision Automotive [redacted], my concern was a vibration at warm idle. I was assured that Precision Automotive could remedy this problem for $190 (their estimate). After it had been in the shop for a week, I was told that the PCM was coding a misfire but no hard fault. Even so, the recommendation was to replace the Power-train Control Module (PCM) with a used PCM. The result of the replaced PCM: the code problems no longer showed up, yet the original symptoms still remained. The next suggested repair (on 7/31 when I was in the shop) was to install a remanufactured diesel pump for $750. When I returned from the shop later that day, I received a call from Precision Automotive that they didnt have the cash to secure the $750 pump part from a local distributor; they asked if I could provide cash for the part myself. I offered to drive to the distributor in [redacted] to pick up the part the next day and bring it to them, but in the end, Precision agreed to take my credit card. On 8/1, when I returned to the shop, I was told I owed an additional $812 for the pump in addition to the $750 already charged, and I dont know who told you that it cost $750. That additional $812 was, again, placed on my credit card. And after all of this once the new pump was installed, a new problem arose: the timing of the pump could not be set. And, still, the original problem was present.Over the course of six weeks, the following possible fixes were suggested, none of which solved the problem:-Fel-Pro / Intake Manifold set -Fel-Pro Plenum Gasket -Parts Master / Fuel Filter -SU1210 / Crank Position Sensor -Fuel Injector- Limited Lifetime -SU109 / Coolant Temp Sensor -Fuel Injection Pump remove and replace -C2500 -Drop fuel tank and flush linesBy now, the estimate of $190 has been far surpassed, and I have been billed $2,627.75, with no solution to the problem. So to my automotive understanding, none of the new parts that had been pushed on me were faulty to begin with.Fast-forward to the beginning of August, right before I left for vacation: it was guaranteed that the problem would finally be resolved by the time I got home and that it would be done with no additional charges because of the issues to date. When I returned to pick up my truck on Aug. 20 because I was tired of the hassles and lies, I was greeted with a balance due of $832.50 making the grand total on repairs (for a truck that still doesnt work) $2,394.50.I have paid all of these ridiculous charges to date, though I never received an invoice until I went to pick up my truck on 8/20/14*. Despite the continued charges (which are indicative of the way Ive been swindled), the $832.50 is the amount in dispute; we have asked [redacted] to stop payment on this amount until this matter is resolved. This is a clear case of gouging and preying on older customers who dont generally put up a fight. Or perhaps it is the case of a company in poor financial standing trying to make up for lost profits by abusing customers. The proof of this reprehensible, unscrupulous behavior is evidenced by the final conversation I had with the owner, whose final suggestion of working this out was to try yet ANOTHER fix: replace the flywheel. I know what it is now. I just need to fix it. Its a cracked flywheel, is the response I got. But not free of charge, of course: this latest guess will cost an additional $310, but with labor for free. For six weeks, Ive heard we know what the problem is, (if youll let us charge you more money), and yet the truck functions the same or worse than it did when I took it in for repair. Taking the owners final suggestion of changing out the flywheel would result in a total of $3422.41 in charges for a project that was to cost $190.The owner of Precision Automotive will say he has witnesses to my agreement to continue with each step. When he asked if we could try steps A, B, C and so on, I took his word that he knew what he was doing. I wanted my truck repaired. Thats why I went to a professional. So, yes, along the way, I agreed. Never once, however, did I sign estimates and formal agreements indicating that this process would linger for almost two months and rack up such significant costs with no resolution. I also definitely did not agree to the final $800+ charge when I was told, due to the hassle wed been through, I would be charged no more money. Did I sign the credit card receipt for that $832.50 while I was there? Yes. I am a diabetic and have frequent highs and lows in my blood sugar. Not only was I having a bad day, physically, but I also felt pressured to keep handing money over based on the promise of well get it right.Whats more, my existing parts were not returned to me; rather they were kept by Precision Automotive, who then re-builds the parts to make a profit, using them in other customers vehicles. When I indicated I wanted my original fuel pump back on the truck since the new one didnt improve it at all, I was told, Sure. I can do that. It will cost you $165/hour for me to take out the new one and put the old one back in. This is nickel and diming at its worst. The customers satisfaction is not a concern. In defense of his actions, the owner made it clear that it was common practice to mark parts up 40% to customers. Is that true when youre hocking refurbished parts that you havent paid your customers to recycle in the first place, I wonder? The company lists its code of ethics online, stating that Precision Automotive, as a member of the [redacted], agrees to: Make every effort to fix the customer's vehicle right the "first time." Not the second. Not the third or the fourth or the fitth. And not over the course of nearly two months time. The various fixes for my vehicle have been broad ranging, none of them having to do with the other all shots in the dark, which the owner himself admitted to when he saidDesired Settlement: Since most of the work that was done was not necessary and just a guess. I would pay the 750.00 that I prepaid for the pump. the 166.74 for the DX and the 220.11 to drop and flush the tank. That I asked to be done The 29.99 for the shop parts. Other than that everything else was all guess work at my expense. He guaranteed me he could do the job. I do not feel I owe almost 2,600 for guess work. Either you know what you are doing or you do not. The invoice is ridicules. Just figures put on paper

Response:

We at Precision Automotive strive to provide our customers with the best automotive sales and service experience possible from, the first time they enter our office, to the repair procedures, and through our retention programs we hope to "WOW" each and every person we deal with. This however as I'm sure you are fully aware is simply not possible with EVERY single customer, and on the rare occasion we do have a dissatisfied customer will do any and everything within our means possible to remedy/satisfy the customer. The case of Mr. [redacted] truck repair was in our opinion a prime example of just that, our best attempts to ethically provide an above and beyond experience and frankly where astonished at the customers dissatisfaction in our handling of his case. I will do my best to accurately explain:
