BUYER BEWAREWe recently had SAARs concrete do some concrete work for our backyardThis review is based off of the unethical and questionable business practices they have when it comes to billingThe original estimate we received from them seemed to be fair for the scope of work that they were doingUnder the heading of Equipment they had a amount that stated, "All hand work- no equipment access unless we remove a section of the fence"Once we selected them to do the work we informed them that we were actually able to remove a section of our fence so they would not have to do hand work and could actually get a bobcat in our yardWe were told that the charge would not be there since they were able to get a bobcat inOnce we received our final invoice we had a significant difference between the estimate and the final invoiceAfter multiple attempts to speak with them regarding the added cost, they finally called me backWhen I asked why this charge was still there Stephanie informed me that it was for the equipmentI stated that we did not have all handwork so why are we being charged for the equipment? There was no additional information on the original estimate regarding that a bobcat would be the same feeShe stated that it was for the bobcat and actually it should have been $1,000, to which I replied so it is cheaper for you to do handwork then use a piece of machineryShe said she would just leave the $500.00, even though it was never written anywhere about this added charge for the bobcatEven the first final invoice we received still had the all handwork language on itOnly after I questioned it did she change it to state bobcathauling, fuel and operating costsAgain this was never written on the estimate nor were we ever informed of this charge I then asked why the concrete pump amount went up and she stated it was because we used more concreteI stated that it did not state underneath concrete pump anything about it being per amount of concrete that goes through itTo which she replied it is a flat rateI said if it is a flat rate why did it go up? She then stated she would put it back to the original estimate amountI then asked about the additional labor and how she came up with that amountTo which she replied that is a standard $per square foot of concreteAgain this description was not on the original estimate for how they calculated the amountWhen I asked what my square footage was she told me it was To which I replied that is not $but should be $2,She then stated that for small jobs we add in an extra feeAgain this was not laid out on the original estimate that there would be an additional fee so she said she would change the amount to $2,I would never hire them nor recommend them because of the clear lack of integrity when it comes to their billing practicesWhen you question how they come up with the different costs they seem to make up answers to suit their need of charging you more for no apparent reasonNot worth the hassle
