Sacramento Atrium Associates, a California Limited Partnership Reviews (1)

I have been improperly billed for damages supposedly done to my apartment and they have failed to show me proof.

I have been improperly charged after moving out in 2008. When tried to dispute the charges no one would return my calls or show proof that I owed. I got 1 bill and they sent it to collections.

I resided at Atrium Court for 2 years, and never had a problem until I moved out Feb 1st 2008. My deposite there was $400. When I moved in the carpet was not new and the blinds were not new. Myself along with 3 other people helped me clean the apartment because I was 3 months pregnant. When I left the apartment it was in imaculate condition. The only thing that would have needed to be done was new carpet and paint. After I moved out I got a bill stating as follows, Apartment cleaning-$155, Carpet pet treatment-$215, Full paint-$76.83, Pantry door-$62, 1 mini blind-$25, Screen door-$20, 2 30" tower bar-$3, carport rental-$15. Equalling up to $556.38. I called the office on Feb 13th 2008 and got no answer so I went into the office and spoke to [redacted] and asked why I was being charged, considering the carpet was not new and had started showing stains a few months after I moved in and that my brother owned his own carpet business and said it was not new, was improperly put in and was cheap. I told her there was nothing wrong with the screen door, pantry door, towel bars and that there was never a pet running around in the apartment so it definately did not need a carpet pet treatment. I asked to see my file and the move in/out list, and she stated that there were pictures takin of the apartment when I moved out and I also asked to see those so that we could go ahead and compare. [redacted] told me that she would need to go through my file. So I told her that I would be in the next day. On feb 20th, I once again called the office to see if she had gotten my file, but still did not get an answer, so once again I had to go up there. At that point she told me to make a list and fax it in. She then told me she needed to speak with maintenance for the pictures and what was fixed in the apartment and that I would be notified by monday feb 25th. I never recieved a call. On feb 27th I called the office 4 times, and did not get an answer. Later that same day, I had called one last time at 1:51pm and a female answered, I told her that I was a previous tenant and what the problem was and told her [redacted] told me Id be contacted by the 25th. She said that [redacted] was at lunch and asked for my name and number so she could let her know I had been waiting on a return call. Once again, did not recieve a call. I called once again on feb 29th @ 11am and spoke with another woman who also took down my name and number and said she would pass ** on to [redacted]. I then asked for the corporate number and she stated that she was new and did not know the number but said [redacted] would return my call. STILL, no call back. On march 4th 2008 I called again but did not get an answer. I had attempted to get the matter resolved from Feb 13th 2008 all the way up til April 1st 2008 with no response, and no proof on their side. So, now it is August 19, 2013, and I applied for an apartment and got a call back saying that everything came back fine, except I was in collections from Atrium court in the amount due of $267. So I went up to Atrium court apartments and spoke with [redacted] once again,I told her the problem, and that it never got fixed, she told me that she is not aware of the situation that she was not working there in Feb 2008. Also asking for my name and number and telling me that she would have to retrieve my file and that I would be notified. After she gave me her card and I left, did I realize she was the same person I had tried disputing this with in 2008. I refuse to pay something that was not shown proof of, and also they took most of my deposit, I only got back $101.38. I have been lied to and ignored. The most the apartment needed after I left was repaint and the carpet replaced because it was never new when I moved in. And all of my blinds were in perfect condition
