IMPORTANT -- PLEASE READ THIS RESPONSE!! Roman', serif;"> Ms [redacted] called us on 7/21/and told us that she wanted us to come out and fix her computer She said that it was running slowly, and that she wanted us to uninstall some of the extra programs that had been installed on it On arrival, she told me in no uncertain terms that she was "not computer literate" and understood very little about how computers worked She and her family watched me the entire time I worked on her computer, which I welcomed I performed the following tasks: (1) Ran a Malwarebytes virus scan and removed multiple viruses and other malware; (2) Installed Avast (an Anti Virus program) and registered her for a full year of free anti-virus service; (3) Reset all of her Internet browsers so that each one worked at it's optimum performance, while maintaining all of her "Favorites" and "Bookmarks"; (4) Removed all of the Junk, Temporary, and Cookie files via the use of both the ATF Cleaner and CCleaner programs; (5) Removed all outdated, unnecessary, questionable and unwanted programs; (6) Optimized all of the System Properties; (7) Optimized and vastly increased the efficiency of the installed RAM (memory); (8) Optimized the overall efficiency of the hard drive via a deep defragmentation; (9) Ran the msconfig program to eliminate any unnecessary programs from starting up in the background, thereby vastly increasing the overall speed of the computer; (10) Installed a copy of the Teamviewer Remote Support program, and explained to them that if she had any questions, or experienced any problems, noticed anything strange or had any other issues whatsoever, she could call me and I would access her computer remotely and help her out...whether her questions related to the initial call or not, I would be available to help her I was there for about minutes, and took great pains to explain to her (and her family) exactly what I was doing every step of the way I even stayed late to help her understand various aspects of her computer which she had no clue about until then As usual, I went above and beyond the call of duty During the time I was working on her computer, she said to me at least times: "I am definitely sticking with you from now on...I will not call any of those other computer repair people again" I hear this often, but what I found particularly interesting was the reaction to this statement from her husband and son Each time she said it, they responded to her with statements like "yeah right, mom" or "yeah...you say that now", or "you say that every time but you never do it" I distinctly remember these comments because I thought these statements were odd" Only after my last conversation with Ms [redacted] did it all start to make sense Before leaving, I ran a deep hard drive defragmentation program (using a commonly used program called Smart Defrag 2) on her computer The reason I sometimes do this at the end is because if the hard drive is badly fragmented (which hers was) the program can take a long time to complete it's scan and recovery, and can take up large amounts of system resources As I have in every other case like hers, I explained exactly what the program does, how long it would probably take to complete, what to look for along the way as far as the amount of time remaining, and what it would look like when it's tasks had been completed I also told her that if there were any problems, to call and let me know I have run this exact same program on over computers with little or no trouble The day after our appointment, she called me different times Each time she called, I answered the phone promptly (I never let it go to voice mail) The first time she called she told me that she had been unable to use her computer for an entire day because "my program" had never stopped running I happened to be in my office at the time, so I immediately logged on to her computer remotely to see what was going on From what I could see, the defragmentation program had indeed stopped running and had made no headway whatsoever In my years of experience working on computers, the only times I have seen this occur is if there are serious problems with the hard drive So I closed that program and told her that I would run the Windows Defragmentation program instead, and see how that went This program too can take hours to complete if the hard drive fragmentation is particularly bad which - again - hers was I told her to let me know if the program had any trouble completing She called me again a few hours later to tell me that that program too had not run properly I was still in my office at that point so I logged back onto her computer and restarted the program I told her to let me know if there were any problems, and I would take care of it I had to leave for work shortly after that (I had other jobs to do in different parts of town) It is important to note that the running of these programs in no way prohibits the use of the computer for other tasks As I explained to her while I was there, she could use the computer if absolutely necessary, but that because the defrag program was running, other tasks may take longer to complete than normal She called me a third time that same day while I was at another customers house and was yelling and screamed at me about the fact that "all of her emails were gone" She doesn't have a local email client on her computer (like Outlook) She goes out to the Internet to get her email, like most folks do I started to explain to her that any problems she was having with her emails actually have nothing to do with the computer itself...her emails actually exist on NetZero's computers, and that if her emails were missing, then she would need to speak to NetZero about that She wouldn't even let me finish my sentence, instead she interrupted me and screamed "I WANT MY F*ING COMPUTER TO WORK!!!" My other customer was sitting right next to me (I was tutoring her on how to create shortcuts on her desktop) and overheard the entire thing This was extremely embarrassing for me, as it make me look incompetent, which I am definitely not I tried to explain to Ms [redacted] that I could not talk to her at the moment, but that I would research the matter and TRY to get back to her that evening At that point it was already late afternoon I had to complete the job I was on, go to another customers house and complete that job, get back to my office, and try to figure out what was going on with her computer by doing some research It's important to understand that what was happening with her computer (the initial defrag program failing) is nearly unprecedented I have been doing this type of work for almost years, and had rarely if ever run into this type of problem It's also important to understand that even though I only charged her $for her computer repair (a bargain these days), I continued to try and help her in every way I could the following day by answering all of her calls, instead of letting them go to voice mail She has a "blocked" phone number, so I knew it was her calling, because I don't get many calls from "blocked" numbers In my experience, people who insist on having blocked numbers do it for one reason only...because they don't want the person they're calling to know who's calling them Anyway, most other computer repair places would have stopped answering her calls after the first one But I'm not like that...I have always taken a great deal of pride in my work, and have always worked extremely hard with each and every customer to make sure that they are completely satisfied These qualities have given me the ability to build my business out of absolutely nothing into a thriving business with over a thousand regular customers The vast majority of my business has always been - and continues to be - from referrals and return customers Anyway, I was unable to get back to Ms [redacted] that evening because I didn't end up getting back to my office until late I spent over hours researching the problem, and was ready to dig right back in the following morning Only problem was...she wouldn't let me That's right I called her sometime between 12:00-1:the following day, at which point she said: "I have already talked to Better Business...I'm not talking to you", and then hung up on me The reason I am taking the time to write this lengthy response is because Ms [redacted] 's complaint is completely and utterly unjustified, and I will not sit back and let this woman trash-talk myself and my company by spreading vicious lies about what actually transpired over that hour period I have run across this personality type before: It is an extremely unfortunate combination of arrogance and ignorance The "arrogance" part is the fact that she would not even let me continue trying to fix the problem It was more important to her to be pissed off than it was to have her computer working properly That is arrogance, folks Also the comments from her family clearly indicate that I am not the first person that she has done this to The "ignorance" part is the fact that she doesn't know how to use a computer She didn't even know how to close a window I had to explain to her that she needed to click the red X in the upper right corner of a window in order to close it I don't fault her for this, and I'm not mocking her The reason I point this out is that someone is that unfamiliar with how to use a computer, and then says things like "my emails are gone", it is most likely human error...she's either pressing the wrong button, or clicking the wrong icon, or going to the wrong website When I left her house, her computer was working beautifully, and she and her family were absolutely thrilled with the results At that point her emails were all there So what happened between the time I left and the time she called me the next day? I can't answer that because I wasn't there...but guess who was? Guess who was the only person typing and clicking and surfing? She was But instead of even entertaining the idea that she may have done something wrong, and actually allowing me help her fix the problem, she yells and screams and swears at me, and then when I call her back the very next day to help her, she basically tells, me that it's too late She has reported me to the Revdex.com My hope is that whomever is reading all of this will see through this woman's string of lies I wish I could tell you why she is so angry, and so unwilling to accept help from the one person who would have continued trying to help her until the problem was solved...for free But instead - according to her complaint - she has now moved on to the next poor computer repair technician who will also try and help her I feel extremely sorry for those poor saps who came before me, and will inevitably follow me into this woman's nightmare scenario Because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how hard you work, and how much you try and help her, she simply doesn't know how to use her computer But she won't admit that She just won't Instead, she will yell and scream and swear at you, publicly belittle and trash your name in the public square, and send you down in flames That...folks...is what's actually going on over there And her husband and son know it, but they are powerless to stop her because she wears the pants This is a woman completely out of control and therefore willing to say absolutely anything - no matter how egregious the lies - as long as she doesn't have to admit that she's wrong or doesn't know what she's doing This woman is vicious liar...plain and simple Thank you for reading [redacted] ** [redacted] Technician / Owner Sacramento Computer Doctor ###-###-#### [redacted]

First, I would like to say I have NEVER had a professional computer expert work on my computer, as it has always been someone who "thought", or is a "expert", who was suppost to know what they were doing, and this is where Mr [redacted] comes into the pictureI saw his ad for $in the telephone book(My 1st mistake) He was in my home just over a hour, which he instsalled a hard drive which ran for over hours and had stopped somewhere in that time periodI was unable to use my computer in those hours and Knew something was wrongMr [redacted] is no computer expert and to the best of my knowledge holds no doctor degrees, or to even insult my husband or grandson (not son) who was in the same roomWhen Mr [redacted] left my home, all he said was to leave the computer finish with the hard driveYes BUT hours!! As a end result in this whole matter, he said, she said, Yes, I did cuss Mr [redacted] out and did report him to B.B.B., as he failed to do what he was hired forHe had no problem taking the $100.00, as that was the 1st and Last time I saw him in personI hired a second computer expert, who ended up taking his time, and took my tower with him, only to return a few days later where he asked me who I hired before and why? didn't this person (Mr***) not see the virus's I had on my tower? I could NOT give a answer(Mr [redacted] never even suggested taking my tower,) and my compuer had a hard drive on it for hoursI also admit I know some things about computers and can close programs, I just don't know how to hire so called computer experts like Mr***I have no problem reporting him to B.B.Bas I believe now I may have been the 1st one to do so and his pride can't handle it due to the fact he is a failure! (and no expert)

PLEASE READ THIS REPLY!!!
Sacramento Computer Doctor stands firmly behind it's original posting in this matter A hard drive is the device inside of a computer that holds all of the data We did not "install a hard drive" on her computer, as she stated This only confirms the fact that she doesn't know what she's talking about
The "bottom line" is this matter has NOTHING to do with any 24-hour period As I indicated in my exhaustive response to her original complaint, we spoke to her times on the day following the original service...each time we did our best to fix the problem The following day I called back at my first available opportunity and was told that she no longer wanted our help THAT...folks, is the bottom line We took EVERY POSSIBLE MEASURE to fix her computer Is it SHE that interrupted that process...not us She complained that it took us over hours to fix her computer, and yet she was perfectly fine with letting somebody else take her computer for days! And a quick word on that...anyone who knows how to fix a computer DOES NOT need to take it out of the customer's home They fix it right then and there The only reason they take it is so they can spend as long as necessary looking up on the internet how to fix it!
I have been working on computers since 1985, and have been the owner of this business since 2006, during which time we have repaired over 1,computers Do the math here folks...she actually just told you in her last statement that SHE IS THE FIRST one to complain about us to the Revdex.com Now what does that tell you? That we don't know what we're doing? Or that the problem IS HER?
Thank you for taking the time to read our response

First, I would like to say I have NEVER had a professional computer expert work on my computer, as it has always been someone who "thought", or is a "expert", who was suppost to know what they were doing, and this is where Mr. [redacted] comes into the picture. I saw his ad for $99.00 in the telephone book. (My 1st mistake) He was in my home just over a hour, which he instsalled a hard drive which ran for over 24 hours and had stopped somewhere in that time period. I was unable to use my computer in those 24 hours and Knew something was wrong. Mr. [redacted] is no computer expert and to the best of my knowledge holds no doctor degrees, or to even insult my husband or grandson (not son) who was in the same room. When Mr. [redacted] left my home, all he said was to leave the computer finish with the hard drive. Yes BUT 24 hours!! As a end result in this whole matter, he said, she said, Yes, I did cuss Mr. [redacted] out and did report him to B.B.B., as he failed to do what he was hired for. He had no problem taking the $100.00, as that was the 1st and Last time I saw him in person. I hired a second computer expert, who ended up taking his time, and took my tower with him, only to return a few days later where he asked me who I hired before and why? didn't this person (Mr. [redacted]) not see the 3 virus's I had on my tower? I could NOT give a answer. (Mr. [redacted] never even suggested taking my tower,) and my compuer had a hard drive on it for 24 hours. I also admit I know some things about computers and can close programs, I just don't know how to hire so called computer experts like Mr. [redacted]. I have no problem reporting him to B.B.B. as I believe now I may have been the 1st one to do so and his pride can't handle it due to the fact he is a failure! (and no expert)

Ms. [redacted] called us on 7/21/14 and told us that she wanted us to come out and fix her computer.  She said that it was running slowly, and that she wanted us to uninstall some of the extra programs that had been installed on it.  On arrival, she told me in no uncertain terms that she was "not computer literate" and understood very little about how computers worked.  She and her family watched me the entire time I worked on her computer, which I welcomed.  I performed the following tasks:  (1) Ran a Malwarebytes virus scan and removed multiple viruses and other malware; (2) Installed Avast (an Anti Virus program) and registered her for a full year of free anti-virus service; (3) Reset all of her Internet browsers so that each one worked at it's optimum performance, while maintaining all of her "Favorites" and "Bookmarks"; (4) Removed all of the Junk, Temporary, and Cookie files via the use of both the ATF Cleaner and CCleaner programs; (5) Removed all outdated, unnecessary, questionable and unwanted programs; (6) Optimized all of the System Properties; (7) Optimized and vastly increased the efficiency of the installed RAM (memory);  (8) Optimized the overall efficiency of the hard drive via a deep defragmentation; (9) Ran the msconfig program to eliminate any unnecessary programs from starting up in the background, thereby vastly increasing the overall speed of the computer; (10) Installed a copy of the Teamviewer Remote Support program, and explained to them that if she had any questions, or experienced any problems, noticed anything strange or had any other issues whatsoever, she could call me and I would access her computer remotely and help her out...whether her questions related to the initial call or not, I would be available to help her.

I was there for about 90 minutes, and took great pains to explain to her (and her family) exactly what I was doing every step of the way.  I even stayed late to help her understand various aspects of her computer which she had no clue about until then.  As usual, I went above and beyond the call of duty.

During the time I was working on her computer, she said to me at least 5 times: "I am definitely sticking with you from now on...I will not call any of those other computer repair people again".  I hear this often, but what I found particularly interesting was the reaction to this statement from her husband and son.  Each time she said it, they responded to her with statements like "yeah right, mom" or "yeah...you say that now", or "you say that every time but you never do it".  I distinctly remember these comments because I thought these statements were odd".  Only after my last conversation with Ms. [redacted] did it all start to make sense.

Before leaving, I ran a deep hard drive defragmentation program (using a commonly used program called Smart Defrag 2) on her computer.  The reason I sometimes do this at the end is because if the hard drive is badly fragmented (which hers was) the program can take a long time to complete it's scan and recovery, and can take up large amounts of system resources.  As I have in every other case like hers, I explained exactly what the program does, how long it would probably take to complete, what to look for along the way as far as the amount of time remaining, and what it would look like when it's tasks had been completed.  I also told her that if there were any problems, to call and let me know.  I have run this exact same program on over 600 computers with little or no trouble.

The day after our appointment, she called me 3 different times.  Each time she called, I answered the phone promptly (I never let it go to voice mail).  The first time she called she told me that she had been unable to use her computer for an entire day because "my program" had never stopped running.  I happened to be in my office at the time, so I immediately logged on to her computer remotely to see what was going on.  From what I could see, the defragmentation program had indeed stopped running and had made no headway whatsoever.  In my 29 years of experience working on computers, the only times I have seen this occur is if there are serious problems with the hard drive.  So I closed that program and told her that I would run the Windows Defragmentation program instead, and see how that went.  This program too can take hours to complete if the hard drive fragmentation is particularly bad which - again - hers was.  I told her to let me know if the program had any trouble completing.

She called me again a few hours later to tell me that that program too had not run properly.  I was still in my office at that point so I logged back onto her computer and restarted the program.  I told her to let me know if there were any problems, and I would take care of it.  I had to leave for work shortly after that (I had 2 other jobs to do in different parts of town).  It is important to note that the running of these programs in no way prohibits the use of the computer for other tasks.  As I explained to her while I was there, she could use the computer if absolutely necessary, but that because the defrag program was running, other tasks may take longer to complete than normal.

She called me a third time that same day while I was at another customers house and was yelling and screamed at me about the fact that "all of her emails were gone".  She doesn't have a local email client on her computer (like Outlook).  She goes out to the Internet to get her email, like most folks do.  I started to explain to her that any problems she was having with her emails actually have nothing to do with the computer itself...her emails actually exist on NetZero's computers, and that if her emails were missing, then she would need to speak to NetZero about that.  She wouldn't even let me finish my sentence, instead she interrupted me and screamed  "I WANT MY F*ING COMPUTER TO WORK!!!"  My other customer was sitting right next to me (I was tutoring her on how to create shortcuts on her desktop) and overheard the entire thing.  This was extremely embarrassing for me, as it make me look incompetent, which I am definitely not.  I tried to explain to Ms. [redacted] that I could not talk to her at the moment, but that I would research the matter and TRY to get back to her that evening.

At that point it was already late afternoon.  I had to complete the job I was on, go to another customers house and complete that job, get back to my office, and try to figure out what was going on with her computer by doing some research.  .   It's important to understand that what was happening with her computer (the initial defrag program failing) is nearly unprecedented.  I have been doing this type of work for almost 30 years, and had rarely if ever run into this type of problem.  It's also important to understand that even though I only charged her $99 for her computer repair (a bargain these days), I continued to try and help her in every way I could the following day by answering all 3 of her calls, instead of letting them go to voice mail.  She has a "blocked" phone number, so I knew it was her calling, because I don't get many calls from "blocked" numbers.  In my experience, people who insist on having blocked numbers do it for one reason only...because they don't want the person they're calling to know who's calling them.  Anyway, most other computer repair places would have stopped answering her calls after the first one.  But I'm not like that...I have always taken a great deal of pride in my work, and have always worked extremely hard with each and every customer to make sure that they are completely satisfied.  These qualities have given me the ability to build my business out of absolutely nothing into a thriving business with over a thousand regular customers.  The vast majority of my business has always been - and continues to be - from referrals and return customers.

Anyway, I was unable to get back to Ms. [redacted] that evening because I didn't end up getting back to my office until late.  I spent over 2 hours researching the problem, and was ready to dig right back in the following morning.  Only problem was...she wouldn't let me.  That's right.  I called her sometime between 12:00-1:00 the following day, at which point she said:  "I have already talked to Better Business...I'm not talking to you", and then hung up on me.

The reason I am taking the time to write this lengthy response is because Ms. [redacted]'s complaint is completely and utterly unjustified, and I will not sit back and let this woman trash-talk myself and my company by spreading vicious lies about what actually transpired over that 24 hour period.  I have run across this personality type before:  It is an extremely unfortunate combination of arrogance and ignorance.  The "arrogance" part is the fact that she would not even let me continue trying to fix the problem.  It was more important to her to be pissed off than it was to have her computer working properly.  That is arrogance, folks.  Also the comments from her family clearly indicate that I am not the first person that she has done this to.  The "ignorance" part is the fact that she doesn't know how to use a computer.  She didn't even know how to close a window.  I had to explain to her that she needed to click the red X in the upper right corner of a window in order to close it.  I don't fault her for this, and I'm not mocking her.  The reason I point this out is that someone is that unfamiliar with how to use a computer, and then says things like "my emails are gone", it is most likely human error...she's either pressing the wrong button, or clicking the wrong icon, or going to the wrong website.  When I left her house, her computer was working beautifully, and she and her family were absolutely thrilled with the results.  At that point her emails were all there.  So what happened between the time I left and the time she called me the next day?  I can't answer that because I wasn't there...but guess who was?  Guess who was the only person typing and clicking and surfing?  She was.  But instead of even entertaining the idea that she may have done something wrong, and actually allowing me help her fix the problem, she yells and screams and swears at me, and then when I call her back the very next day to help her, she basically tells, me that it's too late.  She has reported me to the Revdex.com.

My hope is that whomever is reading all of this will see through this woman's string of lies.  I wish I could tell you why she is so angry, and so unwilling to accept help from the one person who would have continued trying to help her until the problem was solved...for free.  But instead - according to her complaint - she has now moved on to the next poor computer repair technician who will also try and help her.  I feel extremely sorry for those poor saps who came before me, and will inevitably follow me into this woman's nightmare scenario.  Because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how hard you work, and how much you try and help her, she simply doesn't know how to use her computer.  But she won't admit that.  She just won't.  Instead, she will yell and scream and swear at you, publicly belittle and trash your name in the public square, and send you down in flames.  That...folks...is what's actually going on over there.  And her husband and son know it, but they are powerless to stop her because she wears the pants.  This is a woman completely out of control and therefore willing to say absolutely anything - no matter how egregious the lies - as long as she doesn't have to admit that she's wrong or doesn't know what she's doing.  This woman is vicious liar...plain and simple.

Review: I wish to file a complaint who screwed up my computer worse than it was.

He put a program that has pop-ups I can't erase, He had my computer running for over 24 hours which the program he put on, froze up, Its now to the point where I can't even open up my emails and when I called him for him (which he said to all him back) as I was still having problems, he said he was with a customer and to call him later on the next day !!

I paid $100, for service I didn't feel I got, plus looking at his business license he isn't even registered!Desired Settlement: I called this person and he had my computer running for over 24 hours which did NOT do any thing. I had to hire a second person who spent 16 hours cleaning up my computer and discovered 3 viruses which the 1st person failed to do. I gave the Computer Doctor 100.00 for NOTHING! IF the B.B.B. don't do any-thing, they aren't any better than the Computer Doctor. I protest!
