Sacramento Post-Acute Skilled Nursing Facility Reviews (1)

Review: My father was housed in Sacramento Post Acute Skilled nursing home from July 16, 2014 through August 15, 2014. The care he received was terrible, the nursing home staff were rude, unresponsive, and not sensitive to thier patiences needs at all. I witness the treatment thier clients/patients as if they were non-human. My father developed bleeding ulcers while under the care of Sacramento Post-Acute too much fluid on his heart in turn causing us to remove him from the facility and have him admitted to [redacted]. We have since learned that Sacramento Post-Acute was given asprin althought it was noted he was not to take asprin, they were also administering blood thinner medicaton to my father which also played a factor with causing my dad to develop bleeding ulcers! We tried on several occasions to advise staff the medication they were giving my father was not to be adminisitered. But staff would not comply with our request. Most staff performed with the type of "I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE"! It most be noted that a family should not leave thier love ones in a place such as Sacramento Post-Acute a place that seems to pride themselves in practicing a high level of unprofessionalism!Desired Settlement: I would like Sacramento Post-Acute to train thier staff on customer service and professionalism in the work place. I would like Sacramento Post-Acute be removed from the Veteran's list of applicable Skilled Nursing facilities to house America's Veterans at. Lastly, I am requesting Sacramento Post-Acute to refund Veteran's Affairs for the cost of my father's stay. This facility is unfit to care of any Veteran let only human being! Sincerely!

Response:

I was sorry to hear about this complaint regarding the care of one of our patients who was admitted to Sacramento Post-Acute. Our goal is to provide high quality care to the patients families and to provide an overall enriching experience. It seems to me in this instance that we fell short of our goal. Regardless of the actual circumstances and specifics of this individual patient, when a family member feels that our care has been less than adequate then we have not done our jobs properly. I am sorry that I was not able to know this patient and family member closely enough for them to feel comfortable in calling me personally to discuss their concerns before submitting this complaint. That means that in the end I did not perform in my administrative role as I would have liked.

I have personally reached out to his family to express my apologies and to let them know that we will work improve if we ever get the chance to care for their loved one again.

Thank you,

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: it has not spoke to any of my resolutions. I have requested that this facility be removed from the list of Veteran's Home for post wound/op care. Also I have asked that the monies the Veteran's Affairs to this facility to refunded. Althought I do appreciate the repsonse from Sacramento Post Acute I still do not have any resolution in regards to my father's case.

Sincerely,
