Safari Lawn Care, LLC Reviews (17)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I can agree that you Safari Lawn Care feels the matter is closedThough I, the person who submitted the claim, do not I still had to pay for a service that I never agreed to have in the first place I stated in an earlier message, I agreed to pay Safari for the time being so I wouldn't have to deal with having to clear a falsified credit claim off of my credit report The issue still remains that Safari Lawn Care reportedly provided a service not approved or accepted by me (the homeowner)They then proceeded to threaten to damage my credit if I didn't pay them for a service I never ordered/agreed to in the first placeThis scenario sounds an awful lot like extortion to me [redacted]

I told [redacted] when he first contacted us about the service in 2014, he would not have this problem of having his sprinklers blown out late and taking a risk on frost damage He agreed that this would be better for him to not have to worry about being late on having the sprinkler system winterized We rescheduled the service and did notify him in February and again at the time of service I have negotiated the bill in half with [redacted] and will keep my end of the agreement as long as he does My biggest concern was why was I not contacted when we sent the bill out several times [redacted] contacted me only after this bill was sent to collections Now I have collections costs and late fees in addition to the original work

[redacted] from California hired Safari Lawn Care to do sprinkler repairs at two rental houses he has here in Boise. We repaired both sprinkler systems on May 31, 2016. We sent both bills a few days later expecting payment within 30 days. [redacted] contacted me a few weeks later stating... that the bills were higher than expected. I went over the two bills with him and reminded him that we charge $55 per hour plus parts. One of the bills was $180 and the other was $340. [redacted] told me that one of the properties still had an issue with the sprinklers not coming on. I told him this was an electrical issue and we would need access to the timer box. He asked why this wasn't taken care of on our first visit. I replied that we needed access to the timer to check the electrical part of the system. My guy checked manually by turning the valves on not electrically. Most timers are located in the garage so my guy didn't use the timer to turn the system on. I told [redacted] this type of repair was completely unrelated to the repairs that we did, but that we could repair this as well. [redacted] said he would send payment in and handle that repair some other way. We received the payment on one of the rental properties on August 3rd and have still not received payment on the other rental. ***s account was sent into collections for 30 days and then a lien was placed on his rental and will be released when paid in full. ***

[redacted] contacted Safari Lawn Care late November of He had forgot to winterize his sprinkler system and was concerned about the early frost we had earlier that month I told him we could still winterize the system , but that there could be damage because of the frost I also told him that we would keep him on our list and blow it out every October so he could avoid this in the future In February of we sent [redacted] a scope of services that showed him that we have his sprinkler winterization scheduled for October Our technician showed up October 7th to winterize his system Our technician left a note on the door letting [redacted] know we had done this service On November 1st we sent our first bill to [redacted] which went unpaid December 1st we sent a second bill which went unpaid On January 5th [redacted] account was sent to a collection company This company send several letters and phone calls for the duration of days [redacted] contacted me by email and phone on January 15th with the following correspondence "I received a notice that I have been sent to collections by your company "Safari Lawn Care LLC" yesterday I've called twice today (Left voicemail) with no answer to find out what I'm being billed for I am leaving out of the country very soon and want to get this sorted out before I go Please contact me as soon as possible." This was the first time I had received any communication from *** [redacted] and I have been emailing back and forth since this time and have come to an agreement that he would pay half the current bill which is $ I have placed his account on hold and do not plan on doing further work for him

I only receive one or two of these complaints a year and always respond immediately to them. I'm not sure how I missed this one, maybe it went through junk mail.
Sorry
Jeff

*** contacted us in the middle of November about blowing out her sprinkler system. She forgot to do this so we set it up for her. I told her this time of year we only do blow outs one day a week so we set it up for later that week. Our minimum for blow outs after October 15th is $75. The main reason is we are driving specific to that house to do one blow out. Our charges are higher to compensate for this. Our tech went out on November 20th and winterized the system. *** contacted me some time later and didn't think we winterized the entire system. I told her I would have my tech stop back by when he was in the area to see what he remembered. My guy stopped by and said yes he indeed blew out the system. He remembered struggling with the gate , but getting it open. He even remembered using the timer box in the garage, which is typical in blowing out systems. I passed this information to *** and haven't heard back from her until now. Her bill is now up to $because of late fees for being unpaid. I am willing to accept the original amount of $75, but will not take less because we blew this out after the middle of November. Jeff

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
It is a completely inaccurate and account being provided by the owner of this terrible company
As I have explained to this owner (*** ***) multiple times, the timer at the property he is referring to is located OUTSIDE and his employee was told that multiple times that same day He is claiming it was inaccessible when it is right on the side of the house in plain view and his employee was told that It was completely accessible, but unfortunately his employee was not sharp enough to be able to find it
I hired Safari Lawn Care to turn on and set the sprinklers for the season at two rental properties At the first one, they charged me two hours of labor at $per hour despite my tenant there telling me the guy was there for less than an hour *** *** (owner of Safari Lawn Care) later called her and tried to get her to change her story saying he "rounds up" on labor costs for out of state owners like me Even though she told me that and I was blatantly overcharged, I paid that bill anyway
On May 31st, the Safari Lawn Care employee kept returning to my first rental property and asking my tenant there for directions to the other property which is two blocks away and that he had the address for He got lost several times and apparently that was charged to me at $per hour in this supposed hour labor time for a job that involves literally just turning on the sprinklers and setting the outdoor timer It is crazy to be charged hundreds of dollars including hours of labor when he never even set the time or got all of the sprinkers on!
Instead of setting the outdoor sprinkler timer and getting the sprinklers started for the season like I requested, Safari Lawn Care instead changed sprinkler heads and did not set the timer or even find it even though it is clearly visible outside and they were told that several times
Then they charged hours of labor on the job at $per hour in addition to the cost of the parts So in other words, they didn't do the job that I hired them to do and chose to do something completely different They also charged hours of labor for what is typically a hour labor job at most
I contacted *** *** (the owner of Safari Lawn Care) several times and explained this, but he refused to do anything and immediately threatened to slap a lien on my property Unfortunately for me, they are better at liens and outrageous bills than they are at doing any actual work
If you do any research at all online into this company, it is obvious they are scam artists...plain and simple I will rectify this issue with these scam artists in court My recommendation to anyone reading this is to avoid this company unless you want bad work, huge charges and lots of problems
Sincerely,
*** ***

This is in response to the ongoing communication from [redacted].
[redacted] hired us to repair the sprinkler systems at two of his rental properties.  The majority of the repairs were made on actual heads throughout the yard that were either not working or broken.  The only other repair made was on a broken ball valve, which is a sign that the sprinkler system was not blown out correctly if at all.
[redacted] did ask me about one zone that wasn't coming on after we have made our repairs.  I told him this would most likely be an electrical issue involving the timer box.  We would need access to the timer in the garage from the renter.  My employee wasn't aware that the timer was located outside the garage and the renter was not home to allow us access to the garage.  If he would have know that the timer was accessible he would have checked that as well.  I informed [redacted] that this would have been an additional repair unrelated to what we repaired, but that we could do this repair. [redacted] said he would handle the repair.
We have placed a lien on this property and will release the lien when this bill is paid in full.

In conclusion:
[redacted] hired us to repair his properties which we did at the same rate which we charge any client $55 per hour plus parts.
The repair was billed 3 hours not 4  hours.
There was a separate electrical repair that my technician did not find while doing the first repair.
[redacted] declined this repair and had another company repair this.
We were never paid for the work that we did on this property.
We had a complaint filed with the Revdex.com for not finding an electrical issue because we thought the timer was in the garage.
[redacted] wants to pursue this legally which I hope he does because we did nothing wrong.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  Though I feel that for the most part the information provided by Safari Lawn care is accurate, there is information left out and it does not address the issue at hand.In 2015 this vendor took it upon themselves to provide a service with out any approval from me (the homeowner) to provide a service which I did not order, request, sign up for, or approve.  After providing this unsolicited service, they then are giving me two options, pay for this service I did not order, or have this bill be sent to collections and potentially negatively effect my credit. Safari is trying to justify this by stating that they provide this service on a yearly basis, but I did not agree or accept these terms of service. The easiest way to resolve this issue would be for Safari Lawn Care to provide proof that I agreed to/ordered this service.  If they are able to provide any proof that I agreed to have this reoccurring service, I will admit fault and pay the bill in full.  Something like a signed (by me) service order agreeing to have this service done in 2015 would be legally binding and be the best form of proof.  I feel I should also state I never received any notification from them in February and I did not receive any notice on my door after services were complete.  [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference t[redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As explained in past communications, I contacted Safari Lawn Care (Using the number on the statement) when I received each bill informing them that there must have been a mistake to my account. Each time a voicemail was left on their voicemail system. Again, it has been ignored to provide proof by the company showing that I ordered/accepted  having any services done to my property in 2015. I will state again that this is because there was no approval/acceptance of this service in 2015.Via email communications outside of Revdex.com, we negotiated the total bill ($75) will be reduced by 1/2 or $37.50 for a total of $37.50.  I have sent them a check for $37.50 on 2/1/16 only to prevent me having to deal with a false credit claim on top of everything else. It does not mean I agree to the original charges being billed in the first place.  This does change my Revdex.com optimal resolution only in the final amount, to be refunded $37.50. The rest of the resolution remains the same.

[redacted] contacted us in April about a coupon she had from us.  She wanted to know pricing and had other questions concerning safety of five cats.  I informed her of our program to treat her lawn for weeds and fertilization, as well as over-seeding because of the amount of weeds she said...

she has.  She wanted us to start the first week in May and treat her lawn each month.  My technician showed up on May 1st and treated the lawn.  [redacted] emailed be a couple of days later asking when the technician would be out.  I had not recorded his work yet, but told her he was working around some windy days, but that her lawn would be treated that week.  He had already treated her lawn on Friday the previous week and I didn't record his work until later.  [redacted] next email said to cancel the service, she was going to do it herself.   We sent [redacted] a bill on the first of every month since then and she has not sent payment in.  Recently this was sent off to a third party collection. [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I don't consider this a response to my complaint.  Nothing was addressed...

or rebutted just a simple and awkward acknowledgement that perhaps the email from the Bureau was sent to his spam file.  This is the exact same attitude I received when trying to  settle this matterI am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,[redacted]

[redacted] contacted Safari Lawn Care late November of 2014.  He had forgot to winterize his sprinkler system and was concerned about the early frost we had earlier that month.  I told him we could still winterize the system , but that there could be damage because of the...

frost.  I also told him that we would keep him on our list and blow it out every October so he could avoid this in the future.  In February of 2015 we sent [redacted] a scope of services that showed him that we have his sprinkler winterization scheduled for October.  Our technician showed up October 7th 2015 to winterize his system.  Our technician left a note on the door letting [redacted] know we had done this service.  On November 1st we sent our first bill to [redacted] which went unpaid.  December 1st we sent a second bill which went unpaid.  On January 5th [redacted] account was sent to a collection company.  This company send several letters and phone calls for the duration of 30 days.  [redacted] contacted me by email and phone on January 15th with the following correspondence "I received a notice that I have been sent to collections by your company "Safari Lawn Care LLC" yesterday.  I've called twice today (Left 1 voicemail) with no answer to find out what I'm being billed for.   I am leaving out of the country very soon and want to get this sorted out before I go.  Please contact me as soon as possible."  This was the first time I had received any communication from [redacted].  [redacted] and I have been emailing back and forth since this time and have come to an agreement that he would pay half the current bill which is $75.  I have placed his account on hold and do not plan on doing further work for him.

We are both saying the same stuff over and over.  This has been negotiated and resolved by both parities.  [redacted] did receive service witch we notified him about.  he paid half of the original amount.  [redacted] account is no longer active with Safari and no more work will be done.

I told [redacted] when he first contacted us about the service in 2014, he would not have this problem of having his sprinklers blown out late and taking a risk on frost damage.  He agreed that this would be better for him to not have to worry about being late on having the sprinkler system winterized.  We rescheduled the service and did notify him in February and again at the time of service.  I have negotiated the bill in half with [redacted] and will keep my end of the agreement as long as he does.  My biggest concern was why was I not contacted when we sent the bill out several times.  [redacted] contacted me only after this bill was sent to collections.  Now I have collections costs and late fees in addition to the original work.
