Poor communication and a lack of information have led to issues with medical care in canines.
I have never been so disappointed in an organization. The communication and concern for animals that *** Bully Rescue has displayed throughout my experience with them has been downright disappointing.
I found a dog I loved at the *** Animal Shelter in August. Unfortunately *** Bully Rescue adopted the puppy. After tracking her down I adopted her through ***. They provided me with no adoption papers or vet records. When they dropped the puppy off at my house Mrs. Kim told me that I would need to have her distemper shot in one month.
I tried to call Paula (the woman who runs the organization) after a month and her voicemail was full - she never returned my call.
I called back a week later and left a voicemail - no returned call.
I tried one more time and Paula's voicemail was again full.
I decided to text Mrs. Kim (the woman who dropped the puppy off to my house) to see how I should get a hold of anyone from *** Grace. Mrs. Kim was helpful and told me to Facebook message *** Grace Bully Rescue.
I sent a Facebook message on September 20 - they saw the message and did not respond.
I followed up on Sept. 22. Four hours later I got a reply.
On October 3 I finally heard from Maria with *** Grace. She told me she would send me an email with her shot records and that she was UTD on shots when she was still missing her distemper vaccination.
By Oct. 10 I had not received an email with shot records or heard back from Maria.
I followed up once again. Maria told me she would check but never responded beyond that.
On Oct 11 I texted Maria again - no response.
On October 21, I texted both Maria and Paula. Paula responded and had Michelle reach out to me about a date for my dog to be spayed. On October 26 I took my puppy to Safe Harbor Animal Hospital to be spayed.
Due to the terrible communication with *** Grace Bully Rescue I was never informed that my adoption fee covered the cost of a rabies shot and a microchip as well. Both of these were taken care of while I was waiting to hear back from Paula or Maria.
When I dropped my puppy off at Safe Harbor I told them that she did not need a microchip or rabies shot. The lady at the desk scratched it off the list for my puppy. My puppy was also wearing both tags for her microchip and rabies shot on her collar.
Safe Harbor inserted another microchip and administered another rabies shot despite my instruction not to do so.
In addition, when I got home I noticed that Safe Harbor has cut the nails of my dog with a clipper. I use an electric file at home to prevent clipping too short. Her nails were jagged and she had clear sensitivity to them being touched. No one at Safe Harbor told me they decided to do this.
The issue remains unresolved and I was told that Paula would be contacting me today. I have not heard from her.
The two companies work together in the animal adoption process. There needs to be a packet of information given to each person adopting a pet outlining what services are included in the adoption fee and Safe Harbor Animal Hospital needs to contact the people when it is time for their animal's shots. The Animal Hospital also needs to check for tags when administering shots to animals prior to giving them. As well as checking for microchips before inserting.

We do provide veterinary services for *** Grace Bulldog Rescue. We do not assist with paperwork or the adoption process other than giving veterinary records for the pets we examine. *** Grace makes the appointments for treatment, and tells us what services are to be provided. I apologize if there was a miscommunication made concerning the vaccinations needed for this pet. To research the problem, I need to have the pet's name as we do not have pet records under Ms. name.
We are one of the few veterinarians that will give discounted services to animals that do not have permanent homes. Animal rescue organizations are overwhelmed with abandoned and neglected animals. Their hearts are big and they many times have more animals than is practical. When that happens, they choose to care for the daily well being of the pets, rather than calling back people who complain. Paperwork gets misplaced, as these are not office workers, but pet lovers. In addition, the person who has dedicated her life to helping these pets has cancer and has recently been undergoing major surgeries and chemotherapy.
The above paragraph does not negate that Ms. did not receive the service that she expects. For that I apologize for any part that my business had in this. When a mistake is made for a paying client, we would normally reimburse them for the mistaken charges. Normally, *** Grace patients do not pay us anything at discharge. If she paid us for these services that her pet did not need, she is welcome to bring in the invoice showing the amount that she was charged and we will reimburse her.

The response does not address the lack of attention to the medical procedures performed on my animal. My dog now has an unregistered microchip which can cause complications if she is to become lost. I have also paid Amazing Grace for services which I did not need and I have not once been provided a receipt/invoice for my payments. Her name in your system should be *** but it is now
