Safe Harbor Reviews (32)

Mrs. [redacted]
The state of Arizona set all of the required lock out parameters including the .02 violation lockout. This changed occurred in April of 2015.   Alcohol is found in many different items causing mouth alcohol contamination. That is how you can have a...

fail in between two passed test.  Your contract clearly states that the monthly payments are fixed and fees are subject to change. The contract further states that you are not allowed to blow any amount of alcohol into the interlock. Safe Harbor provides numerous videos and information about such issues that can be found at my.azsafeharbor.net. Safe Harbor is the only interlock company in AZ with a six month contract and has the distinction of working with the NIH and PIRE.org to help more people get off of their interlock requirement in the shortest amount of time allowed by law.  Safe harbor managers and staff have the ability to waive fees if the unit is not working properly, there was a data corruption issues or a issue with the delivery of data to the state.  In September you experienced such a violation and were not charged. The reason that Sate Harbor staff cannot waive valid alcohol violations is based on the Interlock Fuel Cell that detects the amount of alcohol in your breath.  Each time the fuel cell is presented with alcohol it lessons the life of the unit.  As such the fee is valid and could not be waived by one of the Managers or customer service representatives . Remember to never blow alcohol into the interlock. Because you have no other alcohol violation Safe Harbor will Waive this valid alcohol violation (ONE TIME).  Safe Harbor hopes that you can be one of the 90% who get off of their interlock in 6 months.

Ms. [redacted], your contract with Safe harbor is independent of the error of [redacted]. Please refer to your contract for specific detail of the refund policy and early termination. However, to help you, Safe Harbor will be happy to allow you relief from the terms of your signed contract and refund...

We at Safe Harbor are here to provide any additional documents on cost to help you with the states error.
Please provide a correct accounting that will be refunded waiving all other fees just the Install and removal fee.
Thank you

This was not on 2 different occasions. Those violations happened within 9 seconds of each other due to a faulty handset or malfunction.  As I had said previously there was no food, smoke or anything in my mouth and had not been for 4 hours as I was working.I am not interested in taking a class on the effects of alcohol. I am requesting a refund for the violation fee that was clearly not my fault. I am sure I am not the only person safe harbor is taking advantage of this way and I feel they should be held accountable for the monies they are fraudulently taking from people.

I have have mutliple false readings from my interlock device causing me money and extensions woth the mvd. Employees are very rude and not helpful.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

Regards,

Oboiusly MR. [redacted] has no intention on solving the problems! Mr [redacted] and his employees do not care what I or any other person has to say about this very bad and unethical matter. I am very surprised that you even received a response from the infamous "SAFE HARBOR". The major problem is that MR [redacted] or any of his safe harbor employees will never take accountability for there bad buisness practices. I am very disappointed in SAFE HARBOR,they will continue to RIP people off that are in a vulnerable position. It's not right. [redacted] needs to know what's really going on.

If need a interlock device it would be better to choose another company. They state that the device goes off at random intervals but it does not. It goes of at 3 minutes then at 10 minutes and every 10 minutes after that. So talking long car trips is almost impossible because you don't want to be on a hill when your car shut off.

On top of that if you miss an appointment its a minimum of $50 and if you do not pay it off right away it an additional $25 + 5 per day. So let say you reschedule your appointment and pay in person you are looking at $80 minimum assuming it doesn't lock out which is another $25 on top of that.

[redacted] Mr. [redacted] Safe Harbor attempts to provide superior service to all of its clients. It is unfortunate that you are having issue with one of its providers.  Having the opportunity to review your...

file I can see that you
may be having difficulty with the interlock.  Please take a moment and look at the LYL section of your portal that can be found at www.my.azsafeharbor.net  There is good information about how the device works
and how to avoid BAC violations and missed retest.  Safe Harbor provides this to you so you can be one of the 87% of the people who successfully complete their interlock requirement in 6 months. The immediate
issue of having to pay prior to service is explained in your contract. If you review your contract in section 4 Service Appointments, it states; The client shall return the vehicle to the designated service center, which the service provider may reasonably change from time to time, for regularly scheduled service every 30 days.  In the event of a program
violation, an early recall will be announced via the lights and tones of the system which obligates the client to return the vehicle to the designated service center for unscheduled service within the number of days
prescribed by the system. Upon payment by the client, the service provider will do the following in accordance with program requirements: §   Inspect and service the system The reason that the technician set your unit for less than 30 days is due to the payment for services requirement.  There are several other locations that may be closer to you and easier for your time schedule.
Safe Harbor also offers mobile service so we can come to you. Derrick H[redacted] the Safe Harbor Technician manager will be in touch with you to further explain and resolve any additional issues. Good luck and
continued success in completing your court ordered interlock requirement.

While at the mechanic's, I saw that this company sells hand held breathalyzers (not the ignition interlock), so I purchased one for about $100. I took it home, drank an alcoholic beverage with my meal and waited an hour. I tested out the device and it gave me an error code on the first breath. I looked in the manual what this meant, and it said that the fuel cell that registers ethanol has worn out, that this would happen after about a year of use. So, it was Dead On Arrival, and this component is not replaceable; when it burns out, you have to purchase a whole new device, throw the old one out. I took it back to the shop, and was told that they don't accept returns there, that I would have to contact the parent company.

I did, with extremely long wait times. They told me that because I had used the product, they wouldn't accept a return. So if something is DOA, you are supposed to know that by looking at the outside packaging. They wouldn't honor the warranty. I filed a complaint through the Revdex.com and they responded "Returns are not accepted." I did not accept this "resolution" to the issue, so the Revdex.com marked the complaint as closed and that was it, even though I continued pursuing this issue for 6 months before throwing it away.

This company is sketchy, the products are worthless and they do not back them with any sort of warranty. Their customer service is manipulative at best, and nonexistent the rest of the time. Since people do not really look at these kinds of reviews before purchasing something as trivial as this kind of product, I can only warn in hopes of steering people away from any other service they may be interested in obtaining from Safe Harbor, or their [redacted] products.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In regards to the response from Safe Harbor. I was not Abusive to Them!!! They were abusive and rude to ME, a paying customer that is simply trying to get something resolved!!!!! I did Not even receive the notice from [redacted] in a timely manner as to request a hearing, and it is up the Breathalizer Companies to explain to [redacted] what happened.  I was on the phone with [redacted] 4 times about this.   This Extension was Caused by One simple time when I had to get my car worked on and they had to Remove a fuse. It set off the breathalizer that caused an extension with the [redacted].  I showed the company my receipt from the mechanic so they can get this cleared  off with the [redacted].  To me it was a mistake that should have been an EASY fix and Safe Harbor [redacted] And [redacted] have not been helpful in assisting me to get this resolved at all.  In fact quite the opposite like they want to make it as difficult for me as possible.   Their behavior and all of this has been reported to my attorney.  These companies Obviously make money off of you having their device on your car and getting an extension wound be another 6 months of income in their pockets now wouldn't it. There is No Reason I should not be able to get these extensions cleared up with the help of Safe Harbour.   Go ahead and call the [redacted] yourself and ask them how it works.  The [redacted] told me that the Breathalizer company has to help clear it up and I was to provide the breathalizer company with my machanic receipt which I DID!!  These companies are such a racket!!! I'm sick to death of it.  Please help me with these aweful companies.   [redacted] ###-###-#### Regards,[redacted]

Dear Mr. [redacted]  It is unfortunate that your licenses was revoked and you will have to start the program over again.  The e-check payment that you made to [redacted] on March 21st was returned via authorize.net electronic check processing.  The notice was given to [redacted] of your...

bounced check after your unit was removed and the agreement made by you and [redacted].  The $70.00 monthly rental and a $25.00 NSF fee are still due and owning as your e-check was never deducted from your account, but was delivered NSF.  [redacted] has had no information that the check cleared your account from either you, or the merchant service electronic check center.  If you can provide proof from your bank that the funds were transferred to [redacted] we will immediately correct the issue and waive any other fees for our mistake.  If your account was never deducted for the $70.00 as the check was returned NSF then the fee is valid as [redacted] never received the payment that you intended to make in March.  [redacted] gives its clients the benefit of the doubt and conducts an internal review and investigation to ensure that the money was not applied to a different account or other issues between the Electronic check center and us. Once all attempts to resolve the matter internally are completed we then contact you to verify that the payment was not made and should be collected. If you can provide proof of payment all other fees will be dropped.  If you determine that the payment was never deducted from your account for the March 21st payment, please provide the full monthly fee $70.00 amount and $25.00 NSF fee and we will consider you paid in full and waive the $30.00 same day appointment fee per our original agreement when we all though that your payments by check was good.  The [redacted] Bad check bureau has set specific time lines that they require merchant who receive bad checks to follow.  No further action will occur if you can either show proof of payment or make payment in full within 14 days of today.

Ms. [redacted] after reviewing your complaint I see that your understanding is that there would be additional fees for as you indicated "I were to have a BAC violation or something of that nature that any mistakes on my part would be in excess of the $570.00. "  On 3/6/2015 you were charged a...

$50.00 fee for a BAC violation that you reported as perfume on 2/17/2015  the other fees were due to a No Show on 5/8/2015 and scheduling fees on 5/22/2015, 6/3/2015 and 7/2/2015. The safe Harbor plan you signed up for requires 6 days notice to allow our shops to properly service our clients.  Safe Harbor offers multiple ways to schedule your appointments.  You can set your appointment with the technician, call and set through a CSR, use your dashboard or phone app or use our after hour phone system.  We apologize for the long hold but our management team was trying to confirm your call to set your appointment.  Please see notes attached.  Safe Harbor is the only interlock company in AZ that has a 6 month contract and offers the numerous tools to help you comply with the court mandated interlock requirement. Please use your dashboard to review the LYL section to help you complete your interlock requirements.  It appears that you maybe eligible for the 6 month deferral, please contact MVD to ensure all of your requirements are met.
