For this to happen once is an accidentFor it to happen twice is irresponsibility on the part of Safe ShieldI did my due diligence the first time, called and emailed the businessI did not follbeyond two phone calls and an email (figuring that should be enough to fix the issue) and assumed it wouldn't happen againI was willing to let it go as a one-time mistakeBut to happen again signifies that Safe Shield did not effectively note the issue in their records and did not come to the properties to make sure they were clear on why the issue was happeningComing on a Saturday or late afternoon might be more convenient for the customer but the first issue happened at 7:p.mon a Tuesday eveningIn fact, both times I was home and that didn't seem to make any differenceI don't want Safe Shield or my neighbors in my backyard without my permissionThe fundamental issue is that Safe Shield is not contacting me by knocking on my door prior to sprayingI have actually been home both times, otherwise, this would have been done without my knowledge which is even worseNo toys were moved prior to spraying as the company claimsFirst of all, that's even worse-not only should someone not come into my yard, they shouldn't be touching my things in my yardBut secondly the toys were exactly where my kids left them which is why this was an issue as my kids fling the toys all over when they are playingEvery house in our neighborhood has two sides, as do most housesOne side of the house is connected to the yard of the customer who hired safe shield, one side of the house is connected to my yardI do not understand how a Safe Shield employee could be unclear that they were entering someone else's yardThey would have had to go to the customer/my neighbor's yard first and sprayed that side of the house and then exit that yard and walk through the alleyway and clearly enter someone else's yard with a different patio door in a different house that was NOT the house that hired themIt's a standard layout in new construction throughout this part of WashingtonThese are not shared yards and it's fairly obvious which yard belongs to which house
I don't feel the business has taken sufficient responsibilityThey seem extremely nonchalant about the use of chemicals near my children's toys-chemicals I would never sito have sprayedWhile I understand they are "safe" different people have different levels of what they are comfortable being exposed to and chemicals that are once deemed safe by the FDA often end up not being safe years laterI err on the side of caution and I do not appreciate Safe Shield telling me it's nothing to worry aboutI had to purchase a new pool for my kids and threw out some of their toysMy impression is that Safe Shield thinks this was an honest mistakeI was willing to consider that when it happened in MayBut happening in June is unacceptable and I want future customers to be aware of this practice by the companyIf I hadn't caught this happening, the fact remains that someone would continue to enter my backyard and spray near my children's toys and edible plans and be on my property uninvitedAs I mentioned previously, if my children had been in the yard, my youngest could have run out into the alleyway, my older kids (who are not that old) would have been in the yard with a strangerMy kids should be able to play without me worrying that someone is going to be entering my yard uninvited, especially someone from a company that is trying to portray themselves as reputableReputable is knocking on a door, letting the person in the house know you have been hired to spray, asking if it is ok to enter their yard

After the first incident, I spoke with the technicianHe was treating around the foundation of our customers homeThere was a gate, so he went through it to continue treating the foundationWhile he was in the back, there were kids toys, which he moved out of the way of what he was treating
There was no indication that this yard belonged to someone else or that he was trespassingI apologized the Ms***, and explained that the technician had not used any product directly on any of the childrens toysWhen our next technician came our for service, (a different one) he started treating the foundation of our customers home, which again let around the side of the home, and through the gateHe opened the gate to continue treating the foundation, when Ms*** came out and told him to stop, he was trespassing.He immediately stopped treating the homeI called our customer to ask about the fenced area of the yardShe told me the only way to get to the side of her home was through that gate or from the roofWith the help of our customer, we have decided that a later evening or Saturday appointment would be best for future service, so we can treat when she is home, and can be under supervision of all concerned partiesThis was not done on purpose, we do apologize and have taken steps to make sure this will not happen again

We are sorry. Thank you for letting us know. We had them leave the neighborhood.
