Review: Company owner/representative, Mr [redacted], sold me a Kenwood DNX570HD to be installed in my vehicle, a 2010 Mercedes Benz C300. Mr [redacted] charged nearly $2,000 for the unit and installation, which can be purchased online with an estimated MSRP of $700. That leaves a conservative $1,000 for installation. After several delays, the car was delivered to me. I was unsatisfied with the poor workmanship and I asked that certain details be redone in which Mr. [redacted] agreed. The second time the vehicle was returned, switches on the steering wheel malfunctioned and a navigation knob was inoperable. The unit kept resetting itself after the car was off for an extended period of time. This problem was addressed twice with no success. The next thing that Mr. [redacted] tried was a direct link to the battery terminals which, within two weeks, drained my battery. I had it charged and drained at least 10 times. I finallt bought a new battery and disconnect his installation. Now, I have an overpriced Kenwood head unit in my Mercedes that does not work, bad wiring and a company that overcharged me for an installation that is incorrect. I have even tried to email Kenwood and their answers were vague that kept referring back to the authorized installer.Desired Settlement: (INSTALLATION REFUND PLUS DAMAGES)I would like Safe and Sound, along with Kenwood to find a knowledgable and reputable Kenwood dealer in this area to complete this installation in a professional manner free of charge. I am also considering reimbursement for lost time and wages (@ $50/hr.), gasoline (@4.00/gal x 300 miles) and a replacement battery (@200) est total of $1,000. Mr. [redacted] mistakes and retries cost 4 or five trips back to his shop with several overnight stays.
