To seek guidance in the matter of my furniture delivery, I contacted the Revdex.com for advice. I was given confirmation that
four months is an inordinate amount of time to wait for my order and was told that I had reason to file a complaint. Interestingly, we received a call from the sales associate less than two hours after the Revdex.com delivered the complaint. She told my husband that the tables had just come in and asked if he wanted to pay the balance with a credit card over the phone. She also told him that December 18th was the only day before Christmas that the furniture could be deliveredHe declined payment and setting a date until he talked with meThe next day the manager of the store responded to the complaint by saying that the tables had just come in, the customer had been contacted, and December 18th had been set for delivery. No explanation nor apology was offered.
I called the *** Furniture office in Hudson to find out if it was to wait so long for an order. I told her the vendor stock numbers of the tables I ordered. They had one of the tables in stock, and the others would be there in January. She said that these are very popular tables and that they are oversold, therefore, it is not unusual for a delay in shipment. If she could tell this to me, I'm sure that the folks at La-Z-Boy FG knew this. The only time I was given a hint of delivery time was when the sales associate called in November and said that they PROBABLY would be here next month (December)I am not happy that I have had to wait over four months for my furniture, with a "so what" attitude from the company. "There are five others waiting for their tables." Since I signed a contract, I have no choice but to pay the balance and receive the order. However, on the positive side, I believe that the designer who came to my home and helped in the selection of the furniture and accessories did a good job. Will I ever again do business with this company or recommend them to others? That depends on how the furniture looks in my home and if the company follows up on any problems that might occur. I have also learned through this ordeal, that before signing a contact one should have in writing from the company that if the goods are not delivered by a time that both parties can agree on, then the customer will have the option of getting a refund.
I appreciate the Revdex.com in Winston-Salem for helping me put this issue into perspective
