Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/19) */

In response to the complaint regarding the inspection preformed by Cabin to castle on July
In reviewing the report completed by
two of our inspectors, one of which is a senior certified master inspector, who has completed several thousand inspections with Cabin to castle, he is also one of our most requested inspectorsOur other certified licensed inspector and journeyman carpenter
I found this report to be very thorough, pages of required repairs, maintenance recommendations, and picturesThe damaged eavestrough is mentioned on page of the very detailed summary
We are not allowed to discuss mold under our agreement with ***, as it requires lab testing to determine toxicity and spore countWhich is explained in the contract signed and initialed by our client
The contract states:
And whereas the consumer acknowledges that the inspection does not cover nor include the investigation, evaluation, inspection or analysis of lawn sprinklers mold or asbestos
The consumer acknowledges this report is an opinion based on visual and non invasive exhaustive or all encompassing
I believe this inspection was preformed within the standard set out by *** and is above industry standards
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/11/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
MrD*** writes that the damaged eavestrough is addressed on page of the reportNo, it is not addressedThe 'damaged arm' is addressed, not the damaged eavestrough as specified in my complaint
MrD*** also does not address the neglect to respond to my questions or concernsInstead he boasts about the quality of inspectors on siteThe same inspector who told us it's to have water pooling beside an irrigation systemIf the inspection does "not cover nor include the investigation, evaluation, inspection or analysis of lawn sprinklers mold or asbestos" I would not expect comments such as those made either
Final Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2015/12/28) */
Cabin to Castle recognizes that our client is unsatisfied and we appreciate the feedback providedIn an attempt to move forward and rectify this situation in a timely fashion, Cabin to Castle is willing to replace the affected eaves trough which may or may not have been damaged at the time of inspectionMr D***' earlier statement regarding the irrigation system and possible mold in the attic stands as the signed contract clearly identifies the scope of the inspectionCabin to Castle can provide a contractor to replace the affected eavestrough OR a cheque in the amount of $can be mailedWe wish to move forward with this as soon as possible and we appreciate your feedback and patience
Sincerely,

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 21, 2016/01/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We would prefer to have a cheque mailed as specified in Cabin to Castles response and we will look after arranging the repair
Thank you

In response to the customers statement regarding the inspection of the home at *** *** *** ** *** *** *** ***As stated by Mr*** Cabin to Castle inspected this home and Justin *** was unable to attend. The inspector that preformed the inspection, was doing another
inspection when Mr*** called the office and wanted to discuss his report. John the owner of the company was in the office at the time of the call so the report was brought up and Mr. *** and I discussed the details of the report. I directed his attention to the page stating the missing facia and loose siding. The pictures included in the report are clear with arrows pointing to the area of concern. I have included the pages of the report that confirm our findings. I have also included an email that lists the pages being discussed prior to this email being written to you by Mr***

[redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The owner did NOT go over the report with me page by page, and he most definitely did not mention anything about the fascia. When I tried to talk to the inspector he said he was busy, I asked when would be a good time to talk to him and he said that he would be busy all day. He then told me he wouldn't be able to talk to me because I had a ** number. That is when I called the office and the owner offered to talk to me, however because he wasn't at the inspection he could provide accurate, or thorough detail of what was going on. [redacted] At no point did the home inspector attempt to follow up with me to discuss the report. [redacted]
Sincerely,
[redacted]

In response to the letter written on August 22, 2017 from [redacted].      This situation is ongoing, Cabin to Castle has not determined the cause of the movement to the slab.  We have notified our insurance company and an adjustor has already been assigned to this...

file. It seems that Mrs. [redacted] does not understand the process, and that all correspondents must go through the insurance company.      The company that recommended installing weeping tile did not run a camera through the existing weeping tile to confirm that is the problem, or if they guarantee the proposal they submitted will work. The amount initially told to Cabin to Castle was 20,000 for the damages and is now written as 32,000.      Cabin to Castle would still like to be involved with the resolution of this situation, however until a claim has been made, and a solution found we can not jeopardize our insurance.

Hello,we we were not contacted by a member of the business. Only an insurance company called [redacted] sent us an email to send them two estimates in regards to damages. We sent one estimate which was initially also sent to Cabin to Castle for payment and just last week we called another company to give us a second estimate to send to this insurance company. we do not know what the outcome or solution is. They just asked us for information. We want to know if we will be getting our damages paid for or not. Other than that we have not heard anything else and do not know what the next step is. Nor has insurance confirmed they received our first estimate which was sent two weeks ago.  Thanks, [redacted]
