I’m very sorry about the damage to the dash on your 2013 Toyota Tacoma pickup. The damage doesn’t appear to be consistent with anything that could have occurred during the windshield repair process. Therefore, we have requested that an independent adjuster view the damage to the dash and attempt to...

determine what caused it. You will be contacted by the adjuster to arrange a time to view your vehicle. Once we receive the adjuster’s report, we will be in touch with you about the results.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please feel free to contact us.

Dear Mr. [redacted]I'm very sorry for any misunderstanding regarding the cost of the glass replacement on your 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. When an [redacted] Adjuster is provided an estimate it is based on what the insurance company agrees to pay for the work. It doesn't reflect the retail or cash price...

that anyone else would pay. The adjuster shouldn't have advised you that the cash price would be $257.30 because he or she didn't request a cash price. Regrettably, your expectation of the pricing was provided by a non-Safelite associate and we can't accept responsibility for that error. At this time, you haven't paid Safelite for the replacement of your glass. If you would like to move forward with a glass claim, your responsibility would be limited to your $250 deductible. If you don't want to continue with the claim, you would be responsible for the cash price minus a courtesy discount offered by the Safelite location of $75.00 the total estimated to be $418.37. We hope to reach a resolution soon and receive payment for our work. Please contact us at ###-###-#### with any additional questions or concerns.

Dear Mr. [redacted],

I’m so sorry to hear about the long list of issues related to the installation of a windshield on your 2010 Toyota Tacoma. In researching your concerns I’ve been in contact with the Safelite store manager and requested any recorded calls between you and Safelite...

representatives. Unfortunately, you created your work order through the Safelite website and subsequent conversations were almost exclusively with the Safelite shop personnel. The shop phone lines are not recorded.

Regarding OEM parts, we have no record or documentation of your request for OEM parts. The work order reflects the aftermarket parts that were installed on your truck. If you want OEM parts installed, there would likely be an additional cost involved. The price you paid was for aftermarket parts, not OEM.

Regarding the urethane spots and the rain channels, the Safelite manager in Portland has attempted to reach you by phone and email to set up a time to inspect the issues. Safelite does provide a nationwide lifetime warranty on the materials and our workmanship for as long as you own your vehicle. Anything caused by our installation, we would fix at no cost to you.

Again, I apologize for the technicians appearing rushed and not addressing your concerns more professionally. We do appreciate your business and we want to correct any deficiencies in our work. If you would like to schedule a no cost warranty appointment to have your vehicle inspected, please feel free to contact the Executive Service team at ###-###-####.

Dear Ms. [redacted],

I’m very sorry that the attempt to repair the windshield on your daughter’s 2006 Suzuki XL-7 wasn’t successful. While we do have a very high success rate on our windshield repairs, there is no way to predict how the already damaged glass will react to the repair process....

Therefore, we do provide a money back guarantee on our repairs. What that means for a customer paying out of pocket is that if a repair fails or if it is visually displeasing, we will credit back the cost of the repair toward the replacement cost of a windshield. I have attached a copy of our warranty.

A representative from our Executive Service team spoke to you today and we have cancelled the replacement appointment as you requested. We are also crediting the $69.55 that you paid for the repair back to the credit card used to pay for the service. It usually takes about 3 business days for the credit to appear in your account.

Again, I apologize that the repair wasn’t successful. We do appreciate your business. If you need additional assistance, please contact us at 1-866-212-5457.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me if my truck gets back to the condition it was in before safelite started working on it. Only then with I be made whole, I will continue straight to Tallahassee until my issue is resolved.

I received the message the file will be listed as resolved, however the issue is not resolved and my vehicle has not been repaired. I obtained the vehicle estimate and provided it to Safelite auto by fax as well as the dealership emailing it to Safelite on July 30, 2014. The only communications was when I called them again to find out what the status of getting my vehicle repaired. Now Safelite is disputing with me verbally the cost of my windshield repair. This is an ongoing issue as my vehicle has not been repaired.

I am rejecting this response because: I took my car back to Nissan and they will not fix it because they said Safelite put my mirror back in un side down. Even no my new is new they said no. The only way this will be fix with me and without me going to file with [redacted] is that Safelite beside of [redacted], Ga  will fix my mirror and if not I will file charges with [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted],
I’m very sorry that you have had ongoing water leak and electrical issues on your 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. When our technician did inspect and test the windshield for leaking, the leak could not be recreated from the windshield. It was Safelite’s determination that the water was...

not due to our installation but due to a leak possibly from a body seam.
If you haven’t already been advised by Safelite or GMC, your vehicle and a number of other GMC models are included in a Technical Service Bulletin released by the automobile manufacturer. The (TSB) is 08-08-57-003C and includes GMC vehicles including the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse, and Saturn Outlook model years 2008 through 2014. This is also listed by the NHSTA under reference number 10024244. The brief description is listed as: FRONT FLOOR WET/MODULE COMMUNICATION LOSS/VARIOUS ELECTRICAL CONCERNS (SEAL SEAM). *NJ UPDATED 3/1/10. *PE UPDATED 09/03/14*LJ UPDATED 2/3/16. *PE
Although I understand your frustration about the ongoing issues, lack of answers, and numerous repairs; this is a known issue by General Motors and isn’t related to the windshield installation we did for you in September of 2014. It is regrettable that you and many other vehicle owners are dealing with this issue but it is something that should be addressed by a dealer or GMC directly.

Hello. Thank you for notifying us of the complaint from our customer, [redacted].    We are certainly sorry that he reached out with a complaint about our warranty.   I have contacted Mr. [redacted] and apologized for any miscommunication on our end....

We have resolved the issue by changing the windshield for Mr. [redacted] under our warranty program, which is what should have happened to begin with.  If you have any further questions, please let me know. Thank you!   Heather B[redacted] | [redacted] Store ManagerSafelite AutoGlass | [redacted] | [redacted]M: 6[redacted] | O: [redacted] | F: [redacted] |heather.b[redacted]@safelite.com

Good morning, I am emailing you in response to the above complaint. Unfortunately the glass can crack out during a repair, this does happen from time to time due to the fact that we are already working with broken glass (and it was 100+ degrees outside during the repair attempt). We...

have done over 35,000 repairs in the Phoenix Market this year alone. When that does happen we credit the cost of the repair on the new glass installation. In this case the customer was going through her insurance company so there was zero out of pocket expense for her. If she used Safelite for the new glass installation there still would have been no out of pocket expense to her since her insurance company paid for it so we will not be reimbursing Veronica $200. John Edwards | Scottsdale Store ManagerSafelite AutoGlass | [redacted]O: [redacted]

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
The business did perform the repair as promised without charge to myself which is what I was trying to get done. Thank you for your help in this matter it has been resolved.

Regards,

Review: I scheduled an appointment with the manager [redacted] on 1/17/2014 at 3:00 for 1/20/2014 at 3:30. I have used them before and a back window they installed in 2013 broke again. [redacted] assured me they would come out and replace the glass. Monday 1/20/2014 at apprx 2:45 pm I get a call from [redacted] the technician asking me about the molding on the glass. I tld him I need to have the entire back glass replaced as I told [redacted] the previous Friday. [redacted] told me allit said in [redacted]s notes were "molding". I told him I dont know what that meant but it was discussed and the glass needed to be replaced and [redacted] knew this. [redacted] told me he would need to call me back in a few moments to confirm this. Because [redacted] was out today. [redacted] never called me back and never showed up for the appointment. I called the Camarillo location and spoke with another man named [redacted]. he is the dispatcher. He transferred me C[redacted] Guerro at the PIco store who refused to help me or authorize the glass change because [redacted] was not in and his notes did not describe the conversation I had had with him on Friday. I told her our conversation was about replacing the glass and I had taken today to have this done. It is a holiday and I dont get much time off as a single mother to spend with my two little boys and I made sure to be home for my appt. with Safelite for this today. She was very rude one the phone and said she would not authorize anything. I told her I was going to contact her corporate offices...which I did after she hung up on me. I then called corporate to file a complaint which has now been opened. [redacted] should have taken more thorough notes explaining the glass, which had already been replaced by them twice before, needed replacing. I am a repeat customer, but wont go back again and would never recommend then to anyone.Desired Settlement: I want my back window replaced, as it was installed by them and should be covered un the lifetime warranty as described.

Against my wishes because of all the negative reviews, my husband had his windshield replaced by Safelite on August 8, 2015 & literally a week later he noticed a crack starting from the lower middle & radiated up & out ward, he called the shop where he had it done & they sent someone out to supposedly replace the windshield but when the tech seen the crack he told my husband that the warranty didn't cover the crack because "he felt" that the windshield had been hit by a small rock & because of that the warranty was not granted. This company is a huge rip off, they charge less than $200 which is just a ploy to get your business & they use the cheapest quality of windshield glass that literally only lasts a week. SAFELITE, How do you sleep at night knowing that you take the money of honest hard working people for your own financially gain !!
