I first contacted Safe PC Solutions regarding an issue with my laptop on July 16th. They informed me that I am required to fill a form and pay $75 dollars upfront. I informed them that I was not comfortable paying any fees until my laptop is looked at and someone can tell me what's going on, because if I pay up front, there is no guarantee that the services will be provided. I disconnected the call and they kept calling me for next few days asking to pay and drop the laptop. Later, the CEO,*** called me and informed me that fees were not an issue, and I was asked to drop the laptop with their commitment to do their best to repair it, provide a full detailed diagnostic of what's going on and resolve the problem with a new part if necessary. With that word from CEO, I confidently dropped the laptop at SafePC office and was informed that someone would look at it in the evening. When I called next day to check what the issues were, they said nobody was able to look at the laptop last evening and*** informed me that "they sell this same kind of laptop to many people and know everything about it". Given the fact that the particular model had been decommissioned, I became less confident in their honest work, and asked to return the laptop. I went to the office where I was informed that nothing can be done to the laptop and they were not able to provide any diagnostics. They further said, I needed to buy a new laptop which they can sell it to and help out with data backup etc, services which I did not need or ask for. With that conversation I took my laptop home and next day I received an invoice for $50 from*** with text asking to pay the fees. When I informed them that I do not understand what the fees were for and I was not comfortable paying it, I was threatened with legal proceedings. I took the laptop to another shop who provided full diagnostics of the issue and assistance in fixing it. As of this posting, I have not received the details of services performed on my laptop.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like the CEO *** to stop threatening me with legal proceedings and provide the details for which they are charging me. I feel like a victim of unprofessional business practices and threats, and would like it to stop as it has caused me great stress. I dont believe I am obliged to pay any money as i did not receive any services from the company.

First and foremost, I never threatened Sumit. I explained to him very clearly that if you are going to drop off your laptop, and require us to look at it, you will be charged $75.00. We only charged him $50.00. I stated to him that if you do not make payment, then we will send this over to legal for collections. At this point, we are going to get attorney to send him a Cease and Desist Letter.

Below, we have proof that services were provided. He did pay the $50.00, and we are not issuing any refunds. We will get the Cease and Desist Letter out from our attorney, if he continues we will sue for slander. The customer is a scam, and a liar at best.

Dear Sumit,

The following necessary IT task and steps were performed by ***, on your Toshiba Satellite laptop.

1. Multiple attempts were made to boot up the Toshiba laptop in different modes.
2. Keyboard, power supply, hard-drive and LCD functionality were all tested respectively.
3. Software and Hardware compatibility troubleshooting on the motherboard were done.

Results:

1. Motherboard hardware related issues need to be fully diagnosed by an authorized Toshiba service center for possible repair/replacement.
2. Recommendation to swap hard-disk into another computer system was denied, too much risk is involved including Windows 10 reactivation.

Your invoice was sent to you via email and reduced by $25. The dropoff cost is $50, failure to make payments will be reported over to legal collections.

Dear Sumit,

Full System diagnostics for software and hardware issues were performed on your Toshiba Satellite laptop by ***. Initial discovery relates to motherboard hardware problems occurring, which needs to be properly checked by an authorized Toshiba service center for repair/replacement.

Additional request to swap hard-drive from one computer system to another was not recommended.
According to Microsoft, the hardware drivers will disrupt current system settings and Windows 10 licensing will be a problem as it will need to be re-purchased and validate to the new system.
