Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The company Safety Alert spent very little time and money maintaining and monitoring any security system for usOur unit was never plugged upSafety Alert provided no service-did nothing and monitored nothing for usThen demanded that we pay them $to stop doing nothingWe contacted them to cancel and send back their unit-they said our debit card was declinedA few weeks later Safety Alert withdrew a second payment of from that same acctall the while providing nothing and doing nothing Ok, let's end this Safety Alertsend us a return authorization and we'll send you your little unit Regards, [redacted]

This number is from Safety Alert located in Lakewood, NJ They are a company that prey on the elderly When they call they are saying they are calling in behalf of Medicare Which is b------t They prey on the elderly for their medical information and sell this monitoring system and is persistent I have called and complain to them that my mother does not need this She already has a Medical Alert with a different company Told her we was cancelling and wanted to send the money back The representative [redacted] indicated my mother had to keep the monitoring system for days during the trial period before she can cancel it Told them she did not open the package and we are sending it back She proceeded to tell me that will have to charge my mother $for early cancellation that was non refundable and included the $cancellation fee I have already closed her account down and they will not be able to bill her credit card The bank is going to dispute the charge for us since we have not opened the product What type of business will not honor your request for cancellation within days if you have not opened the product Please be aware that they are preying on the elderly and are rude

Please be advised that we cannot cancel the monitoring service on this account until [redacted] physically calls or writes to cancel the service. At this time we are obligated to continue the monitoring service at additional cost to us. Our cancellation fee after a unit has been programmed customized and shipped is $169.95 plus one month of monitoring service at 29.95 per month [redacted] has paid the $299.95 set up fee to date. In order to satisfy this customer we are willing to deduct her cancellation fee as well as one month of monitoring service from what she has already paid. We will therefore credit [redacted] $99.95 as soon as she cancels the service. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.

June in the amount of $She was then billed again in the amount of $in July She was also billed $in July which she should have been because that is when her recurring monthly monitoring payment should have startedWe spoke with *** *** and agreed upon a courtesy of free months of monitoring ($29.95x3)A computer generated error then charged *** *** in August in the amounts of $and $We would like to resolve this by issuing a credit for the August charges in the amount of $We would like to also honor our original agreement with *** *** of months free monitoring serviceIf this is satisfactory to the Revdex.com, please submit a response stating such and a credit in the amount of $will be issued to *** ***'s credit card on fileHer recurring monthly monitoring service will begin again on December 3, Please adviseThank you in advance

A few weeks later Safety Alert withdrew a second payment of 109.95 from that same acct. all the while providing nothing and doing nothing.
Ok, let's end this Safety Alert. send us a return authorization and we'll send you your little unit.

They misrepresented themselves to my brother and myself, told my father that his doctor ordered this and we were lead to believe that the system was free through Medicare. We have closed my father's account and filed a report with The Ombudsmans office as well as the sheriff and with the State of New Jersey where these charlatains are from. Disgusting and shameful to steal from unwitting seniors.
