We have reviewed the billing and payment history for your account and provide the following information in response to your complaintSafety received an initial deposit of $on 5/1/for your automobile insurance policy On 5/8/14, we issued an installment billing statement to you requiring a payment of $on or before 5/27/ The check we received from you on 6/2/ in the amount of $XXX was returned unpaid by your bank on 6/6/ As a result, we issued a cancellation notice for non-payment of premium to you which required a payment of $on or before 7/16/to avoid cancellation of your auto policy We received a check from you in the amount of $on 6/30/ The next day, Safety sent a letter informing you that your partial payment had been received but that an additional payment of $was still required no later than 7/16/to prevent your auto policy from being cancelled Because we have no record of receiving the full amount of premium due as specified on the cancellation notice, your automobile insurance policy was properly cancelled effective 7/16/ A refund of $was issued to you on 8/6/

I have reviewed Mr [redacted] complaint and policy His auto policy with Safety was originally effective on 10/5/and the renewal of the policy is active A Safety representative should have informed Mr [redacted] to contact his agent in order to cancel the policy but I do not see any notes on the policy regarding a request to cancel the policy and I contacted the agent on the account, Platinum Insurance Agency of Arlington, and they do not have any information regarding a request to cancel the policy I have reached out to Mr [redacted] via email advising that he needs to replace the insurance coverage or turn in his registration plates in order to cancel his Safety policy I checked the MA RMV and do not see an active policy with another carrier and his vehicle registration is still active Please feel free to contact me with any further questions regarding this matter[redacted] - ###-###-#### [redacted]

Revdex.com Response Policy# [redacted] Insured Name [redacted] To whom it may concern: This is in response to a complaint dated 10/30/2014, which was received by Safety Insurance, the same date The complaint, filed by Mr [redacted] indicates that he was not satisfied with the policy he obtained through the [redacted] Insurance Agency (“Agency”) Mr [redacted] obtained a new business policy effective 10/07/through the above Agency The Agency submitted Mr [redacted] ’ application to the Massachusetts Automobile Insurance Plan (“MAIP”) and the application was assigned to Safety Insurance Mr [redacted] ’ complaint addresses service issues with the AgencyThe Agency is an independent entity and therefore Safety’s response cannot address the service complaints that Mr [redacted] alleges occurred with the Agency As stated in the complaint, the MAIP application was processed with an annual premium of $1,When the application was processed at Safety on 10/9/2014, Mr [redacted] ’ date licensed was incorrectly processed as 9/29/This date was when his license was reissued after a revocation, not the original license issue date This error resulted in an annual premium of $5, On 10/20/the license issue date was corrected to 06/08/and the annual premium was adjusted to $1,772, lower than the quoted MAIP rate On 10/28/2014, Safety Insurance received Mr [redacted] ’ letter dated 10/21/2014, requesting cancellation of his policy On 10/29/the policy was canceled effective 10/22/(the date Mr [redacted] obtained coverage with ***) The cancellation resulted in a credit balance of $377, thus Mr [redacted] paid $premium for the period his policy was in effect A refund check in the amount of $ will be mailed today, 10/31/2014, under separate cover Should you require further assistance, please feel free to contact me by telephone at [redacted] , extension***, or by email at [redacted] @safetyinsurance.com Sincerely, [redacted] Personal Lines Underwriting Manager

Regarding Safety Insurance Group's most recent response to Complaint #***:After examining the uniformity of rhetoric issued by Safety Insurance Group's representatives, I am withdrawing my request for additional compensation for the damages done to *** ***'s car.However, I do not accept this attempt at resolving my complaint, because Safety Insurance Group has not accepted responsibility for debt created from the insufficient and tardy correspondence of Claims Adjustor Ms*** ***Communications with Safety Insurance Group has not evidenced independent evaluations considering my case. I reject this response because I'd like A refund because I have paid them more than $for the months of October,November,December .When I went to the office and talked to them and they said I haven't paid anything and I didn't like how they treated me , and when I went to another insurance group the person I talked to said I can't make an insurance because safety insurance said I don't pay which upset me

When I went in in May and paid the 714.00 payment I was told that I should be all set for payments through November. After I received the notice of cancellation I went back to the office twice and then was told I never made a payment. This situation has been very confusing from the start.

Ms. [redacted] telephoned Safety shortly after submitting hercomplaint to the Revdex.com. We discussed the bank account change and a new Safety Advantage Authorization (EFT) Form was emailed to her to complete and return to Safety. It was explained that we are required to obtain written authorization of all...

banking changes and that as soon as the updated form was received, we’d update the information in our billing system. As a courtesy, the return payment service charge and the late fee have been waived and lastly, the minimum amount due for the month of April has been adjusted to reflect a lower amount. A follow up email was sent to Ms. [redacted] to ensure that she did receive the form sent to her via email – Ms. [redacted] confirmed that it was received. We are awaiting receipt of the current banking information to re-enroll Ms. [redacted] in our Safety Advantage Payment Plan.

 I am not agreed with their decision, this why people have insurance for. My car has been damage, it doesn't matter where, how, why, I need my car to be repaired by Safety ins. Otherwise, I am going to do everything to have fixed. The [redacted] will know about it and at the end we're going to court. to you requiring a payment of $252 on or before 5/27/14.  The check we received from you on 6/2/14  in the amount of $XXX was returned unpaid by your bank on 6/6/14.  As a result, we issued a cancellation notice for non-payment of premium to you which required a payment of $509 on or before 7/16/14 to avoid cancellation of your auto policy.   We received a check from you in the amount of $252 on 6/30/14.  The next day, Safety sent a letter informing you that your partial payment had been received but that an additional payment of $257 was still required no later than 7/16/14 to prevent your auto policy from being cancelled.   Because we have no record of receiving the full amount of premium due as specified on the cancellation notice, your automobile insurance policy was properly cancelled effective 7/16/14.  A refund of $256 was issued to you on 8/6/14.

Safety has responded directly to the complainant and further information should be obtained from them. Thank you.
