Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I spoke with Gwen C [redacted] from Curry Toyota She informed me that this is a common problem with their recall repairs She also told me that either [redacted] who originally installed the remote starter should have reinstalled my remote starter in "good faith"I'm not exactly sure what that means but it should've been done as a means of professionalism and responsible business practice I may have signed a waiver for reinstallation of accessoriesI was never informed that there would be electrical components missing from my truck that I needed to reinstall If I had not signed the proper documents which acknowledge that this item would not be reinstalled they would refuse to repair the recall item So how is that fair? When the customer came in she had a blown rear brake light and her emergency brake need adjusting plus the inspection that is what the initial charges were forWe completed the repairs and then her vehicle would not communicate with the inspection machineThis prevented us from performing the
inspectionWe did have her come back in and fixed the blown fuse that was preventing the inspection and the vehicle passed

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
In response to their statements my son contacted me and told me that the mechanics stated that my brakes were low I told my son that the car was in the shop only for oil change and not brake job This is a common practice at this service department where they will try to tell you that you need other things to increase the price on the original work I was aware that my brakes were low before the car was brought to this dealership I am the only person in my household that can authorize a job beside my wife We are the owner of the car and neither my wife or I was called about any brake job My son was called instead of us at home to authorize work on my car My son does not even have a job because he is under my care How could he have authorize a job This is a scam and common practice by this dealer and shops to hike up the price on services and other repairs This is not the first time that this Curry did something like this However, this is the first time that I am making an official report. They violated the service contract by not servicing the car on July ** They did not notify either my wife or I about their decision until when I showed up to the dealership This allegation about a brake job was approximately months agoAt the time of their decision not to service my car the contract was fully up to date and we were still being charged monthly How can someone deny service and still charging monthly fees That is just out right dishonesty

The customer signed all the documentation before the repair that he was aware and responsible for any repairs not related the the recall

Curry Toyota's position: Customer brought his vehicle in on April *** His Son drove the car in for a service and inspection results determined that the brakes needed replacementWe called the number that was given to us and the Son approved the workAt approx 5pm the Father called
saying that he was not paying for the brakes and his Son had no right to authorize the workWe were never informed by any person that only the Father could authorize the workIt is our duty and responsibility to notify the customer who signed the RO (in this case the Son) of any safety related concerns that need to be addressedSeveral months prior it was noted that the brakes would need attention so there was sufficient notificationThe Dealership had to absorb the cost of the labor and the old parts were put back on the car as the customer refused to pay for the work authorized and performed. July *** *** *** came ti the dealership and after using profanity and threatening our Assistant Service Manager Anthony A*** we asked him to leave.** *** refused and the Police were called to restore order and peace*** *** was told to leave by the State Police after a discussion. July ***, Service Director Mark R*** met with *** and *** ***We asked *** *** why he feels he should not have paid for the worn out brakes and he responded his Son has no permission to do anything with his carI asked then why he allowed his Son to bring the car in and how would we know this is the rule in his house? I also asked ** *** if we had let his Son drive out of the Dealership with worn out brakes and there was an accident what conversation would we be having today? He refused to answer my question and threw up his hand toward me and said he is done speaking with meI left the roomWe cancelled the customers warranties at their request

We have been in constant contact with the customer and working with the customer to resolve the customers concernsTo protect the customers privacy we can not expand on the resolutionWe will be delivering his car to him in the next couple of days

We did not charge [redacted] for the work that her son authorized on the vehicle. [redacted] came into the store the following day. At her request we issued the cancellation of the Extended Warranty and Service Contract that she purchased with her vehicle.

There was no fraud committed. [redacted] was in an accident that he had in his personal vehicle. He brought it to the body shop at Curry Toyota [redacted]. He was provided with a rental vehicle from Curry Toyota 0while his was being repaired. [redacted] had an accident...

in that vehicle aswell. This is the transaction in question. He was charged his deductible to fix Curry Toyota's vehicle that was damaged while he was driving and insuring it. After the deductible was collected Curry Toyota's car was deemed a total loss. The customer was then intitled to his refund. Curry was working with the customer and the insurance comapnies to sort out the matter. We do appologize that it took so long. The customer now has his repaired vehicle and the refund check for his $500.

[Your Answer Here]
So they admit they removed the wire harness. The old remote starter doesn't work with out the harness. The mechanics that repaired the remote starter could not use the old remote starter because of the wire harness missing. I understand if they don't repair accessories. Keep in mind that this remote starter maybe after market, however it was originally installed by Toyota when I bought the truck. I am missing parts of my original remote starter that I need to reinstall it. Because I'm missing that piece I have to pay  for an entire new remote starter installation which cost me $450.00.
