Safewire Electrical- Justin Comeaux

On January 24,2020 I met with Justin C at my home to get a quote for recessed lighting in my living room and kitchen Mr. C stated that he was a licensed electrician who had 10 years of experience and did recessed lighting frequently. He quoted a price of $120 per light and said he could begin work immediately. I agreed to the cost, we met at *** and I purchased the recessed lights and he began. He told me that the flooring in my attic had to be cut to install the lights when I inquired if there were any other option he said no. He cut three holes in the attic floor and rather than rolling back the carpet which was not attached cut three holes in that as well. After wiring the lights he covered the wires with carpet pad and carpet.

The holes he cut with a hand tool in the living room ceiling were the improper size, and the lighting fixtures did not conceal the holes as promised. He attempted to spackle the largest hole and used paint that did not match the ceiling paint around the other five openings

Mr. C was paid $360 in cash when he began the work and $260 on January 25, 2020. He stated that he would return on Friday, January 31 to complete the work. I texted him on Tuesday, January 28 and requested he call I got no response. I called him on Friday, January 31, and he stated he was in Michigan. When I questioned him about his work he hung up.

I paid Mr. C a total of $620. He misrepresented himself According to the South Carolina Labor and License Board Mr. C is not a licensed electrician. I have a ceiling with six holes, wiring done not to code, and the expense of hiring someone to complete the work
