[redacted] was hired as a general contractor to hire and oversee his own contractors for repairs on our [redacted] home. We have a written contract of all items to be done. We have given him 36K and our home is a complete disaster. He has left our electrical panel partially unhooked and torn from the wall, He "demo"ed the entire house leaving all trash and materials in the backyard. Installed a used HVAC system instead of new one....but we don't even know if it works because there's no power due to the dangerous condition of the electrical panel. Home was supposed to be done in 2 months...it has now been 8 months. He has stopped returning texts, calls and emails. He poorly installed laminate flooring that now must all be ripped up and thrown out due to the buckling since he never turned on HVAC system. He actually had the nerve to submit an additional invoice to us for an additional $5K because he said he wasn't making any money on the deal. I cannot even count the number of lies he has told us straight to our face!! He has admitted to having sullies for our home (vanities, toilets, faucets, light fixtures) but won't let us pick them up and won't deliver them to the property...so in essence, he has stole thousands from us! This man does not know what he's doing, but he talks a great game when he comes to do your estimate....DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! RUN, don't walk, away from this guy!!

Avoid this business! We, and our neighbor, hired Saffian for general remodeling - remove popcorn ceiling, paint interior and exterior, install cabinets, install flooring and carpet, install plumbing, vanities, etc. We had numerous issues :repeated failures to show up when scheduled, partial completion of individual projects, poor workmanship, multiple crews that worked for a day or two then got fired and not paid for work done. A two week job took 12 weeks before we fired Saffian, and the job was not completed then, and approximately $4000 of the project needed to be completed by another contractor. We've received legal notice that crews hired by Saffian were not paid and liens against Saffian are being submitted. Avoid at all cost!

I engaged Mr. [redacted] to perform renovation services on a residence in the amount of $21,500. He was paid $16,500, but left the job unfinished. The following represents my dealings with [redacted].February, 2015 - I entered into a written agreement with Mr. [redacted] to perform renovation services on the home of my disabled uncle, so that we could ready the house for sale.I communicated to him that my goal was to have the project completed by the end of April 2015, in order to have the house listed for sale for the spring showing season. He agreed and said the project would take no more than a month.I received an estimate from Mr. [redacted] on March 5, 2015 via email. The amount of the estimate was $20,000 for the entire project. He requested (via phone call), 1/2 the amount down payment as deposit to begin work. I agreed.March 10, 2015 - Mr. [redacted] and I met at my bank, and I paid him $10,000 down payment on the project. March 20, 2015 - I went to the house to check in on progress, and found a little work done in the master bathroom (part of the wall removed), and the cabinet doors in the kitchen removed and stacked in the garage. Other than this there was little progress. I sent Mr. [redacted] a text message, requesting an update. He responded via text, stating, "Cabinet doors are ordered [redacted] demo the wall in the bathroom, we removed the cabinet doors and the countertop today. We are going to do some repairs and get ready for paint for next week."Via a phone call a day or two later, Mr. [redacted] requested $5000.00 in order to purchase the balance of materials for the project (granite counter tops, carpets, flooring, etc.) I agreed, based upon his repeated assurances that he would finish the project with two weeks.March 25, 2015 - Mr. [redacted] and I met at my bank and I drew a check paid to him, in the amount of $5000.00. (See Item #3, Check stub from bank.)Between the end of March and the middle of April, 2015 - I visited the house on a number of occasions, and saw little to no progress. I attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] by phone and text message, but received no response until the third week in April. He called me, and said that he and his family had been on vacation, and that the painters "should have come" while he was out of town. He promised to get the project back on track and that he would finish by the first week in May, 2015.2nd week of April, 2015: The painters (interior) showed up to paint the house. I happened upon them, having come to check and see if there was any progress. I walked in and found a young man and a young woman working downstairs with a sprayer. The young man was smoking in the house while painting. I asked them not to smoke in the house, but due to a language barrier, I am not certain I was clearly understood.I called Mr. [redacted] to express my concern about this issue. I got voicemail and the call was not acknowledged. From the 3rd week of April to May 1, 2015 - There was no further progress on the house. Despite many phone calls to Mr. [redacted] and his assurances that he would finish the project ASAP, the only thing that was accomplished was the removal of the refuse from the garage (discarded carpet and damaged cabinets).May 5, 2015 - I sent Mr. [redacted] a spreadsheet, via email, listing all the work that had been originally estimated, versus what had actually been accomplished, allowing credit for the work done, against the balance of work paid for but left undone. At that time I estimated that he owed me a balance of $11,490.00.May 7, 2015 - Mr. [redacted] contacted me by text message to acknowledge receipt of my email. His message was, "I did get your email. I am working on the numbers that I have spent on the job I will try to have a firm number to you by this evening."From that day forward to today, I have heard nothing more from Mr. [redacted], nor have I received any compensation for the monies paid against work left undone.Desired SettlementThe following represents my dealings with [redacted].February, 2015 - I entered into a written agreement with Mr. [redacted] to perform renovation services on the home of my disabled uncle, so that we could ready the house for sale.I communicated to him that my goal was to have the project completed by the end of April 2015, in order to have the house listed for sale for the spring showing season. I have been working with [redacted], SRS, on a home renovation project since 12/27/14 and he is not finished as of 7/23/15. The contract I have with [redacted] began on 12/27/14, and it was for $30,000. He has been paid $25,000. The contract was for new floors, paint, scrape the ceilings, change the sliding door, kitchen renovation: new cabinets, counter tops, and appliances, also new bathroom vanity and counter.Everything is done except for the cabinets, granite, appliances, bathroom vanity/counter/sink.He has repeatedly promised and not delivered, I have tried to meet with him and he does not show up. I have tried to get him to agree and sign on to a timelime of completion dates, he has refused.Desired SettlementI would like [redacted] to finish the job, at least deliver the cabinets uninstalled. If he cannot or will not finish, then return the money for the unfinished work.
