To whom It may concern,
In responding to this complaint I will be brief but accurate, addressing her statement of complaints, barring in mind there are two sides to every story"$for architectural drawings and licensing" - The agreement for $
was for a 14' x 24' (basic room addition) and included the following items:
a.) MY fee of $1,for coordinating home owner and architectural design meetings.
Working hand in hand with architect and structural engineer on design.
Submitting plans to City of Carlsbad for plan check and permit process (permit fees to be paid by home owner per proposal)
b.) $for architectural drawings
c.) $for structural engineeringPart way through the design process the owners decided to add and upstairs bath directly above the downstairs guest bathThis addition and several other small design changes all cost time and money to the architect and structural engineer, not discounting my timeAfter several discussions I'm not sure the owner understand that time is money for the architect and structural engineer"Discovered employees entering through a bedroom window" - The first time we entered through the bedroom window, was at the home owners request, she couldn't find the key to access the home and ask us to find a way inAt that time we were working on the kitchen demolition and no one was residing at the residence, as a matter of fact, the whole time we worked at the residences no one live at the house, nor was there any home owner possessions at the residence.
"We contacted Mr *** several times about commencing work" - I refused to sign my proposal until I had a set of City of Carlsbad approved working drawings to finalize the guesstimate of proposal I had submitted for the remodel I had submittedThis was explained in emails and texts numerous times, at the time I found it perplexing that she refuse to understand that structural and architectural changes required by the City of Carlsbad would have a direct effect on the cost of construction
"He refused to account for the monies" - I've accounted for the monies just as I have hereIf asking the owners ,in a professional manners (i.eemails and copies of invoices from arch& engineer) to pay for the additional work for the changes they requested seems brash and aggressive, then I'm perplex again, as I was only trying to get the working drawings done.
"Concern for backlash" - Not quite sure how to respond to this as I've never threaten anyone, especially a home owner who can bring me whole lot of legal problemsThe questioned I ask myself when I read this was "what do they have that I would threaten them over?" Nothing, if anything I should be worried about legal ramifications because of a letter like this"Get their money" - I believe the term I used was "get my money (for the kitchen remodel) and be done with this"There's more to the story then the owner had relaid"We only desire to close the procession of transaction and have assurances *** ***, Sage Hill Construction and affiliates" - I will forward the architectural and structural drawings that I have on PDF file and they can do as they wish, I have absolutely no desire to communicate with this client any further*** *** Improvement estimator" - Why would I threaten a cabinet supplier I use extensively?
I apologize for the time I've taken and I reiterate "There are two sides to every story"Thank you for your time,
*** ***/Sage Hill Construction Company

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted]
Mr. [redacted] is simply fabricating information.
1. We gave him a key to the vacant home to enter
on the day his sons climbed through the kids bedroom
window & broke the screen (still broken). He either forgot
or lost the key. We discovered son and friend climbing
through.
2. Re: Lowes employee
It was not a cabinet but instead a fencing rep present who
Mr. [redacted] repeatedly interrupted. The rep finally just left
saying Mr. [redacted] was rude and intentionally trying to
intimidate. Coincidentally, Sage Hill Construction's Rocky
[redacted] used Lowe's drawing's as his own. When I spoke
with reps at Lowes they said ours was not the first incident
revealing the same.
3. Regarding his stated amounts and documents, not credible.
He simply wanted a bid for a kitchen remodel we would not give
him. After collateral damage to kitchen wiring and bathroom
caused by his crew we decided to forego his bid.
4. Sage Hill Construction gave a turnkey quote for a room addition
AND second floor laundry room for $23,000. Again, turnkey. Not
mentioned previously was fact there was a bid in a kitchen draw
for other work for this exact amount; 23k. The amount was less
than 1/2 of comparable costs.
5. Rocky [redacted] and Sage Hill Construction set a frightening
precedent with how even 'legitimate' contractor can use
illegitimate means to secure contracts. Again, he can be brash
and intimidating. He is, in part, the reason why a security agency
was the second priority for settling in to an otherwise safe area.

Review: Owner and son agreed to construction work on home which never commenced even after collecting over $3,000.00 for architecturaldrawings and licensing. Mr. [redacted], owner, even used very aggressive intrusive tactics when other contractors arrived for bids. We regrettably chose his bid because it was lowest. We even became concerned for our safety when we discovered employees entering through a bedroom window. Mr. [redacted] was not present to let them in. We contacted Mr. [redacted] several times about commencing work and dissemination of funds to no avail. He only once responded we needed to pay (again) for drawingsdirectly to those agencies. He refused to account for monies already provided to Sage Hill Construction for the same.He became very aggressive and brash. We now have security services in part because of concern for backlash from a complaint about Mr. [redacted] and Sage Hill Construction. He once stated he never had clients like us who followed through on his work. Mr. [redacted] even shared with employees present for other repairs he only wanted to "get their money" (referring to us). We only desire to close the processon our transactions and have assurance [redacted], Sage Hill Construction and affiliates will not engage in matters of our HOA or home in any regard. Thank you.Desired Settlement: A refund of the $3000.00 would be ideal. He was initially far more cordial. We now have a different view of this contractor. He used abrasive tactics on a regular basis. Once telling a Lowe's Home Improvement estimator he would bewatching him; the estimator had no idea why the comment was made. Most important is Revdex.com notification; our safety in reporting in this domain.
