Complaint[redacted] the Manager sold me a car. I asked if it had been in an accident and he told me definitely not. It had been.I bought a 2010 [redacted] Avenger in June 2012 from [redacted] at Sahara Motors. I asked him to run a [redacted]. He wouldnt. Instead he said he'd run the same kind of report from another company. He assured me the car had not been in an accident. After a few weeks I noticed signs. I then moved to [redacted]. July 23 2014 I was rear ended in [redacted]. I took the car in for repairs to the rear bumper at [redacted] Cadillac. I asked them to look at the front bumper (which is where I could tell there was damage) and was told this car had been in an accident. The fron bumper, passenger fender and side mirrors had all been replaced. I contacted [redacted] and was told he couldn't help me as too much time has passed. I BELIEVE he knew the car had been in an accident when he sold it to me. He told me at the time I was buying it, he had used it personally to go back and forth to [redacted]. Desired SettlementI would like the front end repairs made. Bumper, mirrors matched up, passenger fender and engine shroud and whatever else may be damaged that we can't see. Business Response We have talked to [redacted] about the issues that he is currently having. He purchased the vehicle 2 years ago so at this time we can't do anything. The pictures that he sent us are pretty obvious that there was damage so we believe that we would have and he would have noticed the damage at the time of sale 2 years ago if it was like that. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This implies that I damaged the vehicle. That is NOT the case. The problem is, I moved a year ago. I spoke with the Manager [redacted] about this a year ago. The reason this is coming up now is, the car was in the shop and, they asked if I knew this car had been wrecked. I said I suspected. That was the first time I had been told it DEFINITELY had been. I FIRMLY believe [redacted] knew this and it makes sense, in hindsight, why some of the things he did were done. When I bought the car, [redacted] DID have the front grill repaired, as it was loose. At that point, again, in hindsight, I should have walked away. [redacted] PROMISED me, this car was fine....now, the paint on the front passenger panel is pitting off, from wear. No wear else, just there and so on. These guys just want me/this to go away....

The service mgr. at Sahara Motors, lied to me, describing how long it would take to get the part, how long it would be to repair it & how much it costOn Monday evening on 01-06-2014, the right front wheel bearing, on our truck was binding. we stopped in [redacted] & I confirmed the problem. Our warranty service called for a tow truck & they instructed the driver to tow it to Sahara Motors in Ely, NV. On 01-07-2014, I went to Sahara Motors & asked if they would have my truck repaired that day. The service manager grinned & said "it's going to be seveeral days before we can even look at it. I''m down a mechanic." I asked if he would put a number on the "several days" & he said 5 or 6. Then he told me, once they look at it, if it is just the wheel bearing, it would take 2-3 days to get the part. When I asked how much the part would be, he told me "between $325 & $350." He also told me it would be 5-5.5 hours labor. when I asked why, he said " we have to tear down the whole front end."I called my mechanic at home & he told me, the manual called for 1.25 hrs. labor & the hub assembly is a 3 bolt application.I called the [redacted] parts store in Ely, NV & they told me they would have the part in by 9:00 am the next morning, for $210. I called the tow driver that picked up our truck & had him tow our truck back to his yard. [redacted] (the tow driver/owner) let me use his truck to get the part & let me use his shop to repair our truck. The repair consisted of; take the tire off (5 lug nuts), remove the brake caliper (2 bolts), remove the hub assembly (3 bolts). Not tearing down the whole front end.I was able to get the part in less than 16 hours, & was able to put it in, by myself, in 1.5 hours.Everything the service manager told me was a lie. I wonder how many people this business has defrauded, because they didn't know. They should be down graded to an "F".Desired SettlementDowngrade their rating to an "F", because lieing & cheating the customer is not the way to do business. They didn't get me, but they tried.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] general manaContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]I spoke with our young assistant service writer concerning this matter. He did, indeed, misquote the labor time and price for the part. I sincerely apologize for the mistake and have taken steps to insure this does not happen again. should the customer have had this work done here the price for parts and time of repair would have been checked prior to the final bill and adjusted accordingly. While I understand this customers frustration, we do not intentionally mislead our customers and had he contacted me directly we could have handled this matter immediately .
