How anyone can have anything positive to say about the hospital is beyond me Our experience with the hospital was the most horrible nightmare I am an RN and have never seen such imcompentency in my lfie Horrible nursing care, filthy room, patient not given bath after days in hospital and left in street clothes (no hospital gown) Medications were not given according to home schedule- not even close I would recommend anyone needing hospitalization bypass Murfreesboro and get to Nashville I thought the hospital was good until my boyfriend was there as a patient Run, run, run

The doctor who saw my daughter was most inappropriate healthcare professional I have ever had a dealing withI had to come into the ER and get a wheelchair to get my daughter out of the vehicleThey were way to busy to do anything like this!! She was in tears from pain of a swollen kneeHer physician had recommended she be brought here, lolAfter several hours we discovered that the receptionist had filled out her symptoms or complaint wrong on her paperworkOnce she had gotten a room the doctor came in and wanted to know what was going on with herHe grabbed her stomach and wanted to know if she even has a period(menstral cycle) anymoreShe is 5'4"tall and weighs 107lbsThen as he checked on her knee she winced and cried out in pain, he actually chuckled!! Sometime later a tech from X-Ray cones in and says we are taking you to x-Ray your backWe asked to see the doctor again because of the main complaint being her kneeHe comes in all pissed off We had complained of his behavior to the nursing staffHe said we are not gonna find anything wrongI said so you have already made a diagnosis? I then confronted him about his actions and he starts denying, until I day you were being recordedMy daughter shows him the face of her smart phone and the recording app that she had on recordHe starts back peddling and says that he was just concerned about hairline fractures with her sizeI said you just said there was nothing wrongHe says she has had problems with this in the past and the ER is not the place to have this checkedI asked for another doctor and we got one who did as much damage control as he couldI'm sure I've missed some points, but this doctor needs to stay away from direct patient interaction

Worst emergency room experience ever. My 89 year old mother was brought in by ambulance on February 17, 2016 after suffering a head injury during a fall at the Alzheimer's memory care unit where she lives. After a ct scan and xrays the cut over her eye was sutured. She was so s o diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. The er physician stated that she would be admitted to the hospital. She was admitted, and almost immediately discharged despite having consistent blood pressure readings between 190 and 225, which is considered to be a hypertensive emergency, especially when it results from a head injury. The admitting doctor spoke only to my mother, and called me with his decision. He stated that her excessively high blood pressure was not a problem. I was told that I had to take her out of the hospital. She was removed from oxygen and all continuous blood pressure monitoring and placed in a chair. Nursing staff refused to reconnect monitoring, and I was unable to speak with the doctor. I went to look for other help in the hospital. When I returned, my mother was not in her room. She told them she needed to use the bathroom, so they pointed down the hall and sent her on her way. I tracked her down and returned her to her room. She was covered with urine and completely confused. She was not given a walker or any assistance to the restroom. The chair in her room was filled w with urine. The nurse swabbed at it with a dry towel, but did not clean or disinfect it. I had to beg for a gown and some blankets to stop her shivering. By late afternoon on the second day, they agreed to admit her, after I again refused to takes me her from the hospital, but did not return to automated monitoring, stating that they were only required to monitor her every four hours. Multiple requests to speak to a case manager or patient advocate yielded no results. She was finally placed in a hospital room approximately 32 hours after arriving at the er a nd we s discharged approximately 5 hours later. Prior to the admission the charge nurse argued with me stating that it was safer to take her home than to leave her in the hospital. She stated that she ran the risk of infections and other issues that she would not face at home. She then threatened me stating that I would likely be held responsible for a huge hospital bill because Medicare would likely not pay the charges. Really? Intimidation on top of everything else? These were the most uncaring, unfeeling and unprofessional people I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. They carelessly endangered my mother's health, and continually stated to me "well......she IS 89 years old. Heartless and cruel! On a side note, the emergency waiting area and restrooms were filthy, and the cloth backed chairs were dirty, discolored and a breeding ground for germs and disease.

How anyone can have anything positive to say about the hospital is beyond me. Our experience with the hospital was the most horrible nightmare. I am an RN and have never seen such imcompentency in my lfie. Horrible nursing care, filthy room, patient not given bath after 4 days in hospital and left in street clothes (no hospital gown). Medications were not given according to home schedule- not even close. I would recommend anyone needing hospitalization bypass Murfreesboro and get to Nashville. I was admitted into the hospital on 2/11/2017 due to a sharp pain in my abdomen. After I was admitted and seen, the surgeon (Dr.W[redacted]) stated that I would be able to go home on 212/2017 after they keep a close eye on me and make sure everything was ok. Well the next day I was moved up to the 4th floor and was told I had to stay. I asked to speak to the doctor and he (Dr.B[redacted]) stated that he I had to wait for a response from the surgeon. The surgeon Dr. W[redacted] had stated I could be released but there was lack of communication between the entire staff. Some were saying one thing and others something totally opposite. I finmaly got to speak to the surgeon AGAIN and even she said she was not sure why I wa still there. A CT Scan was done on my areival to tje hospital and it was found that I had Cancer again. I was released to fend for myself. The Hopital nor staff reffered me to an oncologist or even guide me. They St Thomas Dr.s and staff) said that I would need to contact an Oncologist as soon as possible. I thought that they needed to set mw up bevause they have all the information. I was released without that being done and knowing that I had Cancer in SEVERAL AREAS of my abdomen. What a way to treat the patients. ThewayI saw this experience without a doubt, I will not be referring anyone there. I am still having issues getting an Oncologist becausethe want a referral from thw hospital which the hospital does not want to do.

I have been admitted to hospitals all over this country and some OUTside this country. St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital is without a doubt the WORST hospital I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They have NEVER gotten anything right. I'd rather end up dead than be sent to this sorry excuse for a medical center. The VA has consistently treated me better & that's saying something. I will never let them send me here for outside procedures again.
