I was given a price for installation of brake pads and rotors after [redacted] at Nationwide had inspected the brakes of $209.94 plus tax to which I repeated to him "209.94 thats it" and he agreed. I then gave my approval for the work. After completion, my wife picked up the car and was told at closing time that there wasw an additional charge of $18.90 for shop supplies. Not being a part of my conversation, she paid the bill for $247.20. I called back the next morning since they closed right after she paid, [redacted] admitted the price agreed to was $209.94 plus tax. He offerred me a store credit, but I said I wanted a refund of the additional charge over what we agreed. He said [redacted] the manager would call me. When [redacted], the manager, called he agreed that they agreed to the price of 209.94 plus tax but said they always add a shop supply charge and it should have been included in the agreed price which I consented to pay. He characterized it as a mistake, but it seems more like a dishonest gimmick to squeeze more money out of a customer while agreeing to perform the work at a lower price, especially considering the high cost for "shop supplies." He then refused to honor our contract and said he would do nothing.
