Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I will not accept the offer that the Salado Cleaners is making because I have learned more about what happened to the jacket
I would like to first of all correct the information that was submitted by Mr./Mrs*** on 8/29/
Paragraph 2-
*** stated that my daughter picked the jacket up after several days.
*** was told a day and a time to pick up the jacketShe went on that day and time to get the jacket and was told it wasn't readyThat’s because the jacket was taken to a Dragon Cleaners in Killeen*** was told to come back the same day closer to 500pm-530pmWhen *** returned she had to wait at counter for the jacket to be unloaded and brought into store
*** stated that customer didn't make any claim or complain within days
*** noticed at that time that the jacket was ruinedShe said something to the lady behind the counter about the jacketThe lady said leave it and we will fix it
*** was so upset and almost crying that she just left with the jacketShe told me later on that she didn't know what to do so she paid for it and just left
Paragraph 3-
*** stated that it had been a year and longtime of waiting
Clarification on what happened:
It had been a year since the jacket was done but here is reasons why:
#1-live in texas doesn't get cold
#2-it was ruined and *** was embarrassed to wear it
#3-hung in the closet after *** picked it up from Salado Cleaners,
*** stated another cleaners had jacket
Clarification on what happened:
I called a cleaners in Temple asking if they could possibility fix itI was asked to bring it in and let them lookI took it in and the cleaners said that there was nothing they could do to repair it. No chemicals or cleaning products where used at the Temple CleanersAs a matter of fact the Temple Cleaners wouldn't touch it because of the liability
*** stated was in the process of buying new patches
Clarification on what happened:
Salado Cleaners wasn't in the process of buying new patches they wanted me to purchase the patches and they would refund the money and sew them on the jacketIt states in Paragraph 4-call customer asked if she could purchase the package of patches including mascot so we gladly told her THAT WE WILL PAY THE PRICE OF PATCHES that SHE (***) ORDERSYou can order patches without paying for them.
Paragraph 4-
*** stated found exact same patches online, but could not find the school mascot
Clarification of why:
Because Salado cleaners was looking anywhere online to try to match the patches for a lower priceWhen they couldn't find the mascot patch than it was up to us to buy patches and hopefully get reimbursedThe reason Salado Cleaners couldn't find the mascot patch is because Balfour designs the patch for each graduating classSo I know that they where not buying the new patches from BalfourIf they where they could get the patch special made at Balfour
*** stated mom was mad because patches where removed from jacket and left holes
Clarification:
She was right when she said “mom was mad”
*** sleeves on the jacket are real leatherThis cleaners can not tell me that when you take a needle and thread and stick it into leather that it doesn't leaves holes. I have the jacket and the patchesThe jacket still has the thread hanging out of it from where the patches where
*** stated couldn't understand why I was mad about the work they had performed
Clarification:
WHAT WORK they ruined a jacket by taking the patches offThe jacket was fine until they removed the patchesOnce the patches where off they scrubbed them ruined them even more. Then they didn't know what to do so that emailed Balfour and asked them(The email from Balfour telling that they received an email from Salado Cleaners is at the bottom).
*** stated removing patch in past and never had a complaint
Clarification:
Yes *** told me that they take patches off bikers jackets all the time and they look fine no complainREALLY? this is not a bikers jacket this is a senior lettermen jacket that my daughter has been getting these patches since freshman yearI can not run down to Wal-Mart and just buy another jacketThis is a once in a lifetime item and its ruined and now in pieces
Paragraph 5-
*** stated it is not holes
Clarification:
Tell me why it is that I have the jacket and can tell you what patch went on the sleeve by the holes left in the leather
*** stated customer took jacket back and refused service
Clarification:
Yes I took the jacket back and refused to have to purchase patches or jacketI have already purchased the jacket and patches onceThe one that Salado Cleaners messed up
Paragraph
*** policy
Clarification
Salado Cleaners wants to refer to their policy and the IFI Policy
Page of the IFI Policy
Felting Shrinkage (please remember that the patches do contain felt)
Felting is peculiar to animal fiber which include woolFelting is the irreversible dimensional change that occurs in a relaxed fabric when it is subjected to heat, detergent, and agitation on repeated laundering, or the mechanical action of dry cleaning at high moisture levels, and is accompanied by a change of surface appearance of the fabric
After reading that I see that the cleaners took the patches off to try to fix and in the process ruined not only the patches but the jacket
Salado Cleaners Damage Policy:
We will be responsible if WE have caused a problem to a garment
Salado Cleaners Claim Policy:
Salado Cleaners will reimburse a maximum total of $on items lost or DAMAGED during the dry cleaning process
After reading the policy it sounds like the cleaners need to pay:
$for patches
$for jacket
Paragraph
*** stated prices of jacket and patches
Clarification:
The prices that *** is saying it will cost is from a fly by night online company
I have included an invoice from Balfour and all patches and jacket at the bottom
Paragraph
*** stated I called cleaners trash
Clarification:
I told her that I have lived in Salado for years and that I know lots of people and that word of mouth is either good for a business in a small town or bad
*** stated I intimidated by phone
Clarification:
All I heard from Salado Cleaners is “we fick it” and “the jacket not new” after days on the phone trying to get them to understand what they had doneWhich was very difficult because there is a huge language barrierI was done fed up with the cover up and lies
*** stated I called cleaners threatening will sue
Clarification:
YES I WILL and WHY?
Because like I said this is not a bikers jacket or a jacket from a store that I can just run down and buyThey ruined the patches first off and than ruined a leather jacket by removing the patches *** couldn't take seniors pictures in this jacketThat right there should be enough for the cleaners to give me the money to buy anotherI’ve seen the cleaners mention twice that they are proud of the work and have been in business for yearsIf a good company that is truly reputable should stand up and do the right thing and replace or refund the money to us so that *** will have a jacket Yes I’m asking for money that what it would cost just to replace jacket and patches but Senior pictures are done and over the yearbook senior page deadline is pastBecause I feel that *** and myself deserve a little extraIf I do get the whole $I’m going to have pizza delivered to Balfour in Austin for all the care and attention that gave meThey went above and beyond what they had to doThat's what a good company does for the customers
Last but not least
A couple of days after I made the last phone to Salado CleanersI received a call from a Dragon Cleaners in KilleenThe gentleman on the phone was the manager and was wanting to know what happened
I explained to him what had happened from day to the last phone called made to the Salado Location
I was told by the manager that the Salado location should not of removed the patches they are not suppose to do any repairsThey should have sent the jacket to the Killeen location for repairs because the Salado location has not machines to clean withThe manger was told a different story of what happened and he wanted to see the jacket and patches that I hadI told him I would be happy to meet with him in Salado at the cleaners just tell me what day and timeI was told that he would call me back before 500pm today (Friday) or first thing in the morning (Saturday)I have not gotten a call yet
The manger also told me on the phone that this store has communication problemsHe has had problems with the employees at the Salado location because of the language barrier to the point he has to take a interpurter with him.

I am rejecting this response because:I want the case reopenedBecause it says that they will pay for damagesI will settle for that's for patches, for the jacketLet me remind you the jacket was fine until the cleaners took the patches offI can not get them to understand the process of getting new patchesI included emails from the company stating that the new patches wouldn't cover the holesThe holes are in the jacket where the patches whereIt is so hard to communicate with these people
They need to understand they ruined it and it needs to be replaced
Regards,
*** ***

First of all, we are not going to pay you any moneyThere is absolutely no evidence that we ruined your patches and we never damaged the jacket
If you wanted us to put the parches on the jacket again as it was then we will gladly provide free serviceWe tried to resolve the issue despite we didn't feel
guilty but it was part of our customer service but you rather rejected and the return was an intent to hurt our business and unreasonable pay
Well you mentioned “Let me remind you the jacket was fine until the cleaners took the patches off.” so you complained
to get full price of your jacket and the patches back that has not any issues to begin withAlso I believe you don't understand the concept of how
the patch is attached to the jacketMost of patches on leather jacket are sewed and no matter what you do to replace the patches, the holes which you are
claiming will be there because those are from the factories
It is really hard to communicate with customer when they are not trying to or can't understand how the clothes are made
We are more than welcome to explain UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND how the patches are attached to the jacket and all we did is removed the thread that is on the patch and WE
NEVER MADE HOLESPlease don't blame on us when you are the one who don't understand the concept of sewing
Finally you mentioned in the last complaint letter “I can promise you that if the money is not paid in fullThat this will be taken to small claims court and it will cost you
in legal, court fees, filing fees along with any settlementThis can become very expensive very quicklyI really suggest you make this right.”
If you want to take this case to further that is totally fine we will prepare necessary action to defend ourselves and not to waste our time over someone
just trying to hurt our reputation because we tried our best to resolve the issue in your favor and it seems like you just want to take the benefit on our
kindness
We will give your writing “Let me remind you the jacket was fine until the cleaners took the patches off” as the evidence in small claim court to prove your empty
threats that you brought jacket with condition to us and asked moneyIt will be sufficient evidence that
We will not response to your any complaints more!!!

First of all, Salado Cleaners is a pick up station which means we will receive the clothes and send to factory cleaners that has set up of washing machines and appropriate chemicals to wash the clothes. Therefore, we make small profit after paying the services fees to factory cleaners from each cloth but we still love our business and we are happy to be in the city of Salado.
The jacket that you brought us last year (September, 2013) was done by our factory cleaners(dragon cleaners) so you should have to check any of the damage and  if you let us take care of the damage at a moment, Dragon cleaners was to take care of everything smoothly but you refused it.
We, Salado cleaners, even after a year, was trying to take care of our customer so that even after a year, we tried to resolve the problem. We asked for one week to find the ways to resolve the issue but yet again, unexpected visit from you during work of repairing, you took the jacket back saying that you will hire an attorney. Please remember that we are the one who tried hard to find agreement but you only wanted money rather repairing the jacket.
Second, you said we made holes to your jacket. Please be reasonable and think patiently that we only remove the tread that connects the jacket and patch. We NEVER touched the jacket. If there are holes that you see then it is from the original factory that made the jacket when they put patches on it. We have professional tailor that has 10 years of experience in the business and considering that we are located right across from high school, she has done countless job of putting the patches on a jacket and never had complaint.
Third, you said you never took your jacket to other cleaners rather you only show them to see if they could fix it. Considering it has been one year, we don't know what has done to the jacket that could damage the patches. Also, when we received the jacket on 9/13/2014, it had the yellow tag which [redacted]’s cleaners use rather our brown tag which indicates you had a service done from that cleaners. We never ever use yellow tags.
Fourth, you said you didn't claim the jacket for one year because,
#1-live in Texas doesn't get cold
#2-it was ruined and [redacted] was embarrassed to wear it
#3-hung in the closet after [redacted] picked it up from Salado Cleaners.
Ok, we understand all that but those reasons are absolutely not our fault rather your excuses. Logically, you don't wait one year to complain about the service that you were not satisfy. Why in such a hurry that you couldn’t leave us your jacket to fix the problem last year when weather was so hot so you had to hang it in the closet for one year and you had time to bring the jacket to [redacted]s Cleaners and not to us.
Considering all these reasons, we are not responsible for any of your damages on the jacket and if you want us to put the patches on that we removed then we are going to put the patches back on the exact same spot that they were located without any charge. We hope that we should be good neighbor to you. Please smile again.
Thank you.

Dear whom it may concern
We are small local business that gladly served our customers over 10 years and we worked hard to keep our customers satisfied.
In September 2013, we received the Red Letter Jacket from customer and then we did dry-cleaning and customer picked jacket up after several days. That time customer didn’t make any claim or complain within 3 days. Actually we have claim policy (see attached document) so if customer complaints and make a claim about damaged garment within 3 days, we offer re-fix, re-cleaning, reimbursement under the Customer Service Policies.
One year later, on September 9 2014, customer’s mom had called our dry cleaners complaining about the jacket that was done last year. Despite the fact that it has been one year, we tried to work with customer and fix the jacket. Customer brings the jacket on 9/13/2014 but due to the longtime of waiting, and also she brought the jacket to other dry cleaners in town and tried to fix it, we believed that it will be hard wash out the color so that replacing the patch was the best way to solve the problem. It is the work that we normally perform on that specific kind of jacket, so we removed the patches and was in a process of buying new set of patches.
There were five patches, we found 4 exactly same patches on online. The one that we couldn’t find was the patch of school’s mascot, so we called the customer if she could purchase that specific patch in school and she told us that she could buy that package of patches including the mascot so we gladly told her that we will pay the price of patches that she orders. Meanwhile, customer’s mom somehow was mad the fact that we removed the patch and claims that we left holes on a jacket (We took the picture of it right before customer picked it up). We couldn’t understand why customer was mad about the work that we perform because there were no holes and we performed same work which is removing the patch several times in the past and never had complaint.
We tried to explain it to her that it is not holes and we will pay the price of the patches on our own to fix it but customer refused the service that we offered and took the jacket back and asking us full price of the jacket has to be paid back to her.

According to our policy, we compensate our customer when we damage the cloth but in a way of depreciated value. All reimbursements will be determined by our Fair Claims Policy from IFI (International Fabricare Institute), not a full price understanding that it has been owned for a specific amount of time and our customer understand our policy.
Buying a brand new jacket including the patch costs about $380 to repurchase and buying only new set of patches cost about $200. We contacted Balfour Company and they let us know that price.
If they made a claim about damage of patches one year ago, we would have to pay depreciated value of $200 and to fix with no labor charge. Despite one year later, we offered full patch price of $200 and no labor charge because we are local business that we owned for 10 years now, we wanted keep our customer happy. Despite the fact that we worked so hard to resolve the issue, customer’s mom never wants to agree with us but only asking money back called our dry cleaners by her phone, she intimidated us by saying that ‘Salado cleaners is trash’ and not only that she called our cleaners one more time, threatened us by saying she will sue us and we will have to pay the full price of jacket and $5,000 to her.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I'm getting tired of having to explain over and over.
First of all, it isn't my fault that you make no to little profit because of the way you have set your business up.
I knew nothing about Dragon Cleaners until they called me. The patches had been taken off and someone from Salado Cleaners contacted them about the problem. Dragon Cleaners called me to find out what happened. That is when I was told by Dragon Cleaners that Salado Cleaners should not have done any repairs. So as far as me contacting Dragon Cleaners and getting the jacket repaired should have been up to Salado Cleaners not me.
Im not arguing the fact that it was a year between the time you messed up the jacket to the time that you took the jacket apart. My daughter did complain at time of pick up and she was told to leave it and you would fix it. She didn't know what to do at the time so she paid the bill and took her jacket. so you claim that we didn't complain but yet we did. So let that go cause we did.
Yes you did ask for us to leave the jacket for a week and you had the jacket...UNTIL YOU called us to come get the patches order them pay for them and then you would sew the new patches on. I do not remember signing a contract where the jacket had to remain there for a week.
You tried hard to repair the jacket but the end result is its not repaired and its in pieces.
I did not mean that you made holes in the jacket. What I meant was that the patches where taken off and where the patches had been sewn on was where the holes came from. If you would not have taken the patches off than the holes would not have been unable to cover with the new patches. Please refer back to my last comment:
I did take the jacket to another cleaners to see what the chances where of them being able to repair. They did nothing to the jacket as far as chemicals. It was there maybe 2 days not enough time to do anything. Was called and told to come get it. So yes I, sorry that they put it on a hanger and had a brown tag on it.
Look you didn't fix the jacket like you said you would. You took the jacket apart and wanted us to replace patches. You can either pay us $855.00 for the replacement cost of the jacket and patches along with extra money. Once again this is not a walmart or bikers jacket. You don't understand about the patch replacements...the new patches will not be the same size to cover holes left by the patches that YOU took off.
You are responsible for the damaged because if you where not than why would you offer to fix the jacket. The patches did not turn pink on their own, the patches did not fall off the jacket. I do not know how this is my fault that more damage was done than when I dropped jacket off.
I can promise you that if the money is not paid in full. That this will be taken to small claims court and it will cost you in legal, court fees, filing fees along with any settlement. This can become very expensive very quickly. I really suggest you make this right.
A good neighbor????? I don't think so...
You talk about the pride of your store and work well once than pay for what YOU messed up and stop trying to put the blame on me.
