Company states: The consumer came in with a check engine light caused by ignition coils which we fixed and she was happy that we resolved it. She did purchase a warranty which covers the engine and transmission which we are still honoring. A year later she calls us and says that she is having issues...

with her catalytic converter. We told her that her warranty does not cover that and she then began using abusive language and I disconnected the call.

I am rejecting this response because: Yes I understand that part of owning a used vehicle is paying to maintain it, but also selling used vehicles should include being honest and being fair. I have taken the truck to a couple of places and tthey said there is no way possible they can give an estimate for the converter because they have to type in the information from the under the hood sticker which my truck does not have. I really don't know what the point in the Revdex.com is. My problem is not getting resolved. In fact I am even being harrassed now by these guys from Salem Auto Sales. [redacted] has been prank calling me. I called back once to see who it was and it was him. He told me "Sorry I had the wrong number, I was trying to call the Revdex.com."  Along with some other rude comments. We are not in middle school so I dont think prank calling is the answer. This is harrassment and I am currently looking into what I can do about it. I still don't see how these guys can  get away with this. [redacted] keeps mentioning the warrantee that I purchssed as if he is doing something good for me. He is not. I purchased a third party warrantee for $1200.00 that has nothing to do with him. Like I said I am not stopping until I am satisfied. I hope in the future the US comes up with better ways to stop people from being able to do things like this. The funniest part about this is that when I was looking at the truck deciding if I should buy it, [redacted] even told me, my husband and my cousin that all 3 converters were replaced. Obviously none of us are mechanics and we had no way of knowing when we were there. With that being said, and having the check engine light come on 17 days after purchasing, it is so so obvious they knew about the problem. [redacted] also claims that they have no mechanic there because they are not licensed to, which I know because I did some research and called the DMV investigater :) They are commiting fraud in so mamy ways. When I was there and the check engine light came on, [redacted] said let me go get my mechanoc whoch he said his name was [redacted] also and they hoomed up the machine to the truck. I saw the code '430' but they said that meant a coild needed to be replaced. Well anyone can look it up themselves and see it is for the converter. I didn't know at the time. So he said his mechanic was going to change the coil. This took them 3 hours!!! They are crooks and its all a big scam!! These guys are seriously ripping people off right before their eyes. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle and I want my money back. I would allow them to make a reasonable offer rather than a full refund. I will not let this be forgotten about. I work hard for my money to support my family of five and I will not donate to these people that think they deserve all this money for free.

I am rejecting this response because: 1) It is a lie. I have been contacting the business once a month since 2 weeks after the purchase. After the first call, they started ignoring my number so I left multiple polite messages which were never responded to. 2) I do not use abusive or fowl language whatsoever, so I would not go against my morals and use it towards these cowards. They also never replaced any coils or spark plugs they claimed to have done because when my check engine light came on two weeks after the purchase I took it to a professional mechanic to have it checked and they mentioned the spark plugs needed to be changed and hadn't been for a very long time. This is America and I just don't understand how these crooks can make a living by ripping people off from their HARD EARNED cash. It is not fair that this problem  was existing when I purchased the teuck and they knew about it yet they still collected my money happily. I did not just now contact them, I have been trying to work this out for a very long time and they absolutely refuse to help me at all. The one thing they did tell me was that if I need to sell it than they would do me the favor and "make it pass smog" for $250. No thank you. You STOLE enough of my honestly earned money. I will not let this go until they make it right. They know the truth and go to bed every night knowing they steal Americans' money. That's what they came here for and they need to leave like Donald Trump says!!!

Review: car was purchased in November 2013 and since the beginning there was something wrong with car. Calls were made with no response back. The gas gauge is broken and was never fixed and recently we had the car appraised and it was brought to our attention that the VIN number plate was tampered with and the problem should be addressed to the dealership in which it was bought from. I haven't been able to smog the car due to the same issue. A call was made to the dealership and the guy I spoke with asked me if the check engine light was on and I said no and that has nothing to do with the VIN plate and when I told him that no one wanted to touch the car not even to smog it he said if the check engine is not on it's okay he has a guy that can pass it. I told him that passing smog was not an issue I want to know what was wrong with the car and what they are going to do to resolve this issue. He just told me to call [redacted] and explain to him what is going on. The smog is needed in order for me to get my registration renewed in May 2015. it was under my impression that the man who I spoke with was trying to refer me to his guy to fake pass the smog on the car.Desired Settlement: I would like this matter to be resolved either for the car to be replaced with something greater or equal than what the car was sold to me for or a full refund.

Review: These people continuously sell vehicles that they know need major repairs. When we test drove a vehicle it ended up shutting off while driving and the check engine light came on. The office guy, [redacted], who is not a mechanic, told us that was because it needed a 'spark wire coil'. He said he would take it back to the shop and have the mechanic fix it. On the phone, upon arranging to go see the car, he also mentioned that they replaced the catalytic converters before putting it out for sale and did a full tune up. We checked the oil when we were there and it was as dark as can be. I asked why and they said " because it gets like that". I asked about the tune up and he said there was no tune up done. I asked why I was told that and he said he didn't remember. We left and came back over two hours later and they were just getting done with it. The check engine light was off at that point. I believed them that they fixed the problem. When I was signing the paperwork to make the purchase, [redacted] told me that they were giving me a free 90 day warrantee with the truck so in case the check engine light came back on they would take care of it. I also decided to buy a 60 month/100,000 mile warrantee for $1,195.00. [redacted] told us we were good to go and would be covered the minute we drove off the lot. Well two weeks later the engine light came back on. We called [redacted] and let him know and he denied that they offer a warrantee at all and if we didn't have it on paper that they were giving us their 90 day warrantee than we were "screwed" and good luck fighting them for it. The additional warrantee I bought was not active until 90 days after purchase. Go figure. Now my truck is broke and needs the catalytic converter and the big bolts that hold the engine in are falling out! It is not even drivable. They hang up on me when I call and will not return my calls. These guys are professional crooks & thieves and they knew they were selling me a broken vehicle. It it a Lincoln Aviator we paid over $11,000 for.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for this vehicle. Every penny back that I paid these theives. I cannot believe these people get away with this over and over. This is America, something should be done way before they get this far. I looked at reviews for this business online and 98% of them were about dealing with the same kind of situation I am. Everything the same. Broken vehicle, ignored phone calls, lies about repairs, and so on. I have three kids and I need a trustworthy family vehicle.

Customer has extended service contract that covers engine and transmission attach is a copy of it. Unfortunately, catalytic convertor is not cover under the warranty. A muffler shop will charge you 650 for part and labor to replace the cat convertor, which you can call and check. Express muffler on ARDEN way916-484-9900 is a good place to go to. Part of owning a used car is to spend money on maintaining your own car.

Review: This dealer illegally repossessed my 2000 Honda Civic. I owed 300 dollars left on my lease, and with no notice of default, phone call, or any kind of communication(except on my part)they towed away my car. I got one phone call seconds before they drove away with my vehicle, and then I tried to get the fees the next day and I was told it would be over 900 dollars, and that I was not to contact them any more. I then went into the dealership and asked for my leasing documents and the notice of default that was "sent" and immediately the store manager was called and I was told to leave. I am now filing a lawsuit. This incident ended up costing me my job and place to live(I'm now being evicted.)Desired Settlement: I would like the purchase price of my car(over 5500) or my car returned to me.
