Review: I brought my car into Salem Auto on August 3 for repair. I brought it in because the check engine light was on and I needed it off to pass emissions. When I brought it in I told them all I wanted them to do was to get my check engine light off and nothing else. My car sat there until August 6 with no phone call the only contact made was by me for updates. They never called to ask if it was ok to do any of the repairs they did or to tell me what the total was running to. I picked up the car August 6 because they said it was done the total came to $280 most of that being labor. I took the car home as the business was closing, got down the road and the check engine light came back on. I called the next day and explained to someone what had happened and was told I could bring it in today Monday August 10. So I did and when I went to drop it off I explained to them that they didn't fix what I had asked and charged me almost $300 and I couldn't afford to pay anymore to have my car fixed. They said there is nothing they could do and now I am out $300 and the issues with my car is still there.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to refund the money so I can take my car somewhere else and get it fixed, I would ask for the job to be finished but truthfully I don't trust the establishment at all.

I have been a customer of Salem Auto Service for 10+ years, and my mom has been a customer 15+ years. They have always been extremely honest, fair, and courteous. They honor their warranties. I had purchase an older vehicle that had the guard missing for the serpentine belt, so if I went through a puddle the belt would slip off. I was charged 1 time for the repair, and the belt slipped off a few times after that and Salem Auto put the belt back on free of charge. The vehicle had a lot of rust underneath, and when my fuel line started leaking, Tim and his guys took their time and were able to complete the repair without disturbing/breaking my rusty brake lines. SAVING ME LOTS OF MONEY! AMAZING WORK! They just looked over another vehicle I was thinking about purchasing, and found numerous costly repairs, again SAVING ME LOTS OF MONEY! They could of just as easily told me that it was a great purchase, knowing that I would bring the vehicle to them for repairs, but they were honest. Being a woman many others have tried to rip me off. Salem Auto has always beat out other repair shops on their quotes AND have always been HONEST, and honor their warranties.

Never use this place. Spent 850 for a repair on a runability problem. Picked it up and doing the same thing. Took it back and then need to pay another 150 for a part. Plus wife was complaining of a fuel smell after repair. Fuel filter was replaced on previous repair. Wanted to charge me another 500-650 for that repair after I didn't have a leak previously. Never use this place!
