Review: I came here to have my tires replaced. While they were replacing the tires, one of the mechanics had to ask how to put the car in reverse. My car has a lock on the shifter to prevent you from going into reverse accidentally while driving. When I left the shop, I noticed that this lock was broken. I returned and explained the problem. They offered to locate a dealership part and replace it at no cost. Over the course of a week, they were unable to locate a part and when I returned to the store I found out that they were upset that the dealership only sells the whole assembly and it costs $250 which was too expensive for them. They offered to split the price with me. Instead, I offered to let them use a used part as long as it was safe and functioned properly. Over the course of the next 4 weeks they were unable to locate a used part. Because they could not find a way to fix their mistake within a price range acceptable to them, they concluded that I must have caused the damage either before the visit or after and refused to take any action to correct their mistake.Desired Settlement: I want them to reimburse me for the cost of having the dealership replace the parts that Salinas Tire broke.

Response:

[redacted], I am in receipt of the complaint dated Oct. 7th 2014. I personally ([redacted]) helped out this customer with the purchase of the tires. The customer parked the vehicle off to the side of our 7 designated parking stalls. When it came time to install his tires I personally entered his vehicle and attempted to park it properly. I did in fact have a hard time putting the vehicle in to reverse. Because I was unsuccessful in getting the vehicle in reverse. I had two of our tire technician push the vehicle into a stall. I then asked the customer if there was a secrete to putting the vehicle into reserve. The customer stated you must pull up on a plastic handle to get the vehicle into reserve. After replacing the four tires on the vehicle, I personally drove it into our alignment bay to have the vehicle aligned. Once the vehicle alignment was completed my mechanic (who I instructed how to use the reverse switch) delivered the vehicle to the customer. The customer drove off happily and stated he would return in the future for more work to the vehicle. Please note: the customer had to put the vehicle in reverse to leave out parking lot. Two hours later the customer called back and stated his reverse switch was broken and not working. Our office manager took the call from the customer and explained it was probably nothing our mechanics did. But as a good faith gesture the manager offered to pay for half the cost of the part and install it for free. We made the offer even though we felt we did not break the part. We at Salinas attempted to locate the part for the customer and we were unsuccessful. At no time did we offer to replace the entire gear shift for the customer. The customer called back and spoke with me a few weeks later and I explained the situation to him. The customer got upset and verbally threatened me he would file a complaint with Revdex.com. I advised the customer our offer still stands of us paying for half the cost of the part and free installation and the customer stated "No."

Review: 9/30 I went in to get some new tires, and I was taken care of and paid for them in full of $620. When I got my credit card statement later, it showed I was charged again from them on 10/2 for $604. Which I never went in, or had anything to do with them that day. The day after I received my statement, I went in and spoke with a lady who said she would look into it and call me back. She never called me back so I went in again. I spoke with the same last, who was unable to help me because she completely forgot. And she told me to just pay the charge , which I WILL NOT pay for some stranger using my account. And said to come back the next day to talk to the manager who wad coming back from vacation, which is today. So I went in and spoke with her, and now they are saying that my father was the one who went in and used my account to pay for them just because we have the same last name. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY STORED MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND USED IT WITH SOME STRANGER WITH OUT CHECKING ID OR ASKING ME FOR AUTHORIZATION.Desired Settlement: I just want the refund for that random customers purchase. And if it isn't refunded by the end of my statement period, then they need to pay for any interest that has occurred because of it.
