I went to Salon Retro to get my hair done by the same woman that I have been going to for years named ***. I went to get the same thing I always get which is highlights and just the ends of my hair trimmed. This day she put foils in, and alot of them which is unusual and two of her employees stood there and watched which is also unusual so I should have known something wasn't right. When time came to take out the foils and wash my hair she suggested a deep conditioner which we left in.at that time I asked to use the bathroom and when I came back out she told me that she decided to trim my hair with the conditioner still in, which was unusual also. Trusting this woman that I have known since like 2004 I figured I had nothing to worry about. Biggest mistake I ever made. She had cut at least 6 inches of my hair, but had showed me about a half inch to one inch. I am almost positive that her employees knew what she was doing. When she washed out the conditioner she then had to dry my hair. While she was drying my hair I began to notice that I no longer had highlights and my hair now looked all o e color which would explain all the foils. I was sick that day and wasn't feeling good and also had my 20 year old son un the car waiting for me. So I was kinda in a rush to to leave. I normally wear my hair in a ponytail when my hair is grey and need my hair done so when my hair was done she had blown dry my hair really straight so when I looked at it in the mirror it appeared long. After I left and got back to the house I had laid down because I was not feeling good. When I woke up which was later that night I had brushed my hair and put it in a ponytail which I then noticed at that time my hair was alot shorter. I immediately began to cry, how could I be this stupid and not even realize what *** did. It was late so I text Lori the next morning and complained and she had replied that there is more to worry about in this world than an inch of hair. There was more to the conversation.
I am writing in response to the letter I received with the subject ID #.I have been a salon owner for the past 16 years and a cosmetologist for 27years. Never in all my career have I ever gotten a complaint.To address the complaint, I believe Ms. is just trying to get something for nothing. I went over and beyond with her hair. I even gave her a free reconstructing treatment because her hair was so dry.As I was doing Ms *** hair I did have two of my stylist watching, as I am a advanced colorist and they are still learning. It is my policy that if they are not with a client, they are watching and learning from me.During the highlighting process Ms *** shared with me that she had just got out of prison and had a drug (meth) and alcohol addiction. Which is probably most of the reason her hair was so dry.After the highlights were finished I asked her if she wanted a trim. She told me yes. I had her stand to cut her hair as her hair is down almost to her waist and I could not cut it properly if she was sitting in my chair. I began to trim and showed her what I had cut (1 inch) she said that was fine. I finished her cut, blew dry her hair and showed her the mirror. She said “it really has grown! I love it!” She gave me a hug and at checkout even tipped me $20. Now if I had cut off 6 inches as she claims she would have first noticed when I gave her the mirror. Then again as we were walking from the chair ( 6inches off would be a big pile on the floor). Ms. has been harassing me via text messages and also with reviews on google.I hope this sheds a little more light on the situation. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me. The statements made by *** are false and this does not resolve my complaint. I do not appreciate her stating that I just got out of prison, I have never been to prison and I am not a meth user. I have not drank alcohol in a long time, also which I do not believe is even relevant to this complaint. I asked for a partial highlight to my roots and she foiled my entire hair one color, which is not what I asked for. I have gotten my hair done 5 months prior to this event by *** and last time she did not foil my entire hair and followed my instructions. Also my hair was cut 6 inches, not the one inch that *** stated. She cut my hair with the conditioner in it which is why I did not initially notice how much was cut off. I left immediately after my hair was done and did not look at my hair as it had been done properly by *** in the past. I have a closed brain injury and suffer from slowed reaction times, which is why my complaint was not submitted immediately at the appointment. I am not looking for anything for free, I would just like this to not happen to anyone else. Everyone that knows me knows that my hair was long and healthy prior to this appointment.
