Salt River Recreation Area Reviews (1)

From the moment we called that should've been a clue for us to stay awayHe sounded miserable, tired, and frustrated answering our questions about the siteWe are a band on tour and we were looking for a nice, quiet, secluded place to cook over a campfire and get some rest under the starsWell, the second we got there and met with Joe, he was angry and confused with why there were six people together wanting to campDo families not come here? After explaining over and over again that he thought we were "shadey" (why would you tell a customer that?), he pointed to a field directly behind the bathroomsSaid for us to sleep thereSo we unpacked our things and got to work making our fire and winding down the dayAbout an hour after we got there Joe stumbled over to our campsite explaining that he was suspicious of us, explained that he thought we were theives, threatened to call the police, and wanted us out before noonAgain, NOT something you should be telling your paying customers who have not broken ANY rulesWe were literally quietly sitting around a campfire, quietly because he told us not to make any noise in consideration of the people living their full timeWe were all livid at being treated in such a way, but also tired and sick of driving, so we figured we'd suck it up and get out of there when we were supposed toNot possibleWe were all woken up by Joe SCREAMING from the top of his lungsWhen he pointed out toward the field, there were no markers or dividers indicating designated camp sitesWe paid $to sleep in a giant open fieldWith no shade, a couple in our group moved a few yards further down to not wake up baking in the sunJoe screamed at us to leave, slurring his words to the point where we could barely understand what he was saying, and stumbling in between where we were sleepingWe had had enough, and as we were packing, explained that we didn't feel welcome from the moment we got here, to which he responded that we would get a full refund if we just left (three hours earlier than he told us to check out)We finished packing, and on the way out asked Joe for our money back, to which he responded "hell no"When we explained again how awful our experience had been, he proceeded to explain he didn't give a damn about our feelings and to get the "f" outWe left our site spotless, despite being screamed at and having our money stolenI'm reporting this place to the Revdex.comThis man was a belligerent drunk and shouldn't be owning a business and placed with the responsibility of another's well being
