I went to Katelyn *** for hand tied extensions on December 24th. Everything looked fine when I left because she had curled my hair accordingly. I ended up having issues when the curls fell and my hair was straight. You could see my extensions sticking out and the work I had paid for wasn't actually good work. I sent her the pictures of my concerns and gave her a second chance and she claimed she didn't have time to fix everything. She tried fixing my hair and the same issue was going on--extensions still showing. She had gotten Gorilla Glue stuck in my hair and it had to be cut out. I asked her for a refund and she refused. After arguing back and forth I finally got $100 back but that is not nearly as much as I spent. I even tipped her $90 which I regret now considering how she handled the situation. I was mature and professional and she was not. She wouldn't even ask how to make it right.

December 24th *** came to me for hand tied extensions. She left very happy considering she left a generous tip and even texted me that night and told me she loved them and that she wanted her last weft in. (We agreed of only putting 5 wefts in at the time and she wanted her last one put in) so we agreed she would put her last weft in at her next move up appointment. Two weeks later she texts me saying she can see one side of her weft. So I said no problem come in and we can fix it. So she comes in and she wanted her other weft put in. So I charged her the $50 for putting that last weft in when I usually charge $120 for a full move up. I did not charge her for fixing the showing of the weft. I worked for a good while trying to lay down her hair and the weft bc we added another row. I told her to come back if it didn’t seem to lay any better. I was very apologetic and told her text me if she needed anything and I would obviously fix it for free. She also wanted her root darker and I did not have time to do that at that time. I didn’t hear anything from her so I thought everything was fine. So after a month and half from applying her extensions she messages me saying she wants a full refund. I was being generous and gave her $100 because it has been a month and half later and she is asking for a full refund. And she keeps mentioning gorilla glue. I have to use glue to keep the extensions together at the end. I’ve never had any other complaints or problems with any of my costumers. I was very nice about everything and told her to come back if anything was wrong. And after I gave her the $100 she put up 11 slides on her Instagram story telling everyone how I’m fake advertisement and telling everyone not to come to me. I found that very disrespectful and did not have to go to that extent especially after I gave her back $100 after a month and a half and telling her to come back in and we’ll figure something out if that didn’t work after the second time coming in. So therefore I will not be giving her any more type of refund.Thank you.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Katelyn shouldn't be against a reimbursement when I had to get my hair fixed by another hair stylist. Katelyn has cost me more money because she has refused to reimburse me. I hadn't realized her work was done so poorly until the curls had fallen (she hid everything by curling my hair) These were issues from day 1 but just became noticeable as days went by to someone who doesn't do hair. I sent her pics showing my concerns (wefts stuck out, color didn't match) she didn’t acknowledge color not matching in my message. Fast fwd to my 2nd visit & she said it would take forever to get my extensions to match & told me to see how the hair sat on my head for a week or so. I left unhappy. I was still charged. I found someone else more reputable to fix my hair and she had told me that Katelyn damaged my hair by her sewing technique & use of gorilla glue in my natural hair. Professionals should never get super glue close to any natural head of hair. I have pictures showing my damaged hair & after Katelyn refused to give me a refund past $100, (I gave Katelyn $354 total) She didn't want to make it right & only gave me less than 30% of my $ back, I had to share with Instagram because it’s not fair that this situation could happen to someone else & Katelyn or ANY professional get away with such an act. I had to get my hair cut out because Katelyn (a licensed cosmetologist) damaged my hair & refused to make it right. I never once said she was using "fake advertisement". I simply warned others to be careful & do research & a lot of them have reached out to me. She will never grow/learn if she acts defensive. I would like at least 75% of my $ back because of what I spent to fix her mistakes.

Regards
