I purchased a Blissful MindSpa automatic Shirodhara machine from *** Luque back in November 2019. It arrived on the 29th January, 2020. Upon opening the delivery I wasn't impressed. The machine has been slapped together without care and with zero quality control. The copper bowl and side of the wooden box were both dented, the wooden box wet and sticky and I soon discovered it could not be assembled. The wheels to screw onto the base did not align with the drilled holes, and the copper union with thread on the arm wasn't a match, making the machine completely unusable. The assembly/operating/ and cleaning instructions that arrived with the machine are lacking in detail.
I took photos of the Issues and emailed *** straight away. This was on the Friday. Come Tuesday, I had not received a reply so I phoned. l asked if a refund would be given upon returning the machine and *** said 'yes'. *** also advised I have a plumber come out to fix the problem and said that she would pay. I paid for a plumber to come out to assess the copper arm and emailed *** with the findings. Again I did not receive a reply. I tried to call her on WhatsApp and she dismissed my call. She then messaged me to say she has personal problems and would be sending the new part for the plumber to weld on. She offered to pay for the transformer necessary to test if the machine works, then stopped contact when I agreed. Her website states under Warranty: during the 12 month warranty any piece that could be damaged and shipping costs are covered.
I've been looking into the company and have come across many unhappy customers who have lost their money on these faulty machines. One of the customers has an engineer report which covers many design faults including an unstable, fluctuating thermostat and dangerous heating system that reaches levels above 60 degrees Celsius (which could potentially burn someone who comes in contact with the hot oil).
I paid USD $*** for the machine, plus USD $650 shipping, AUD $574 customs tax

Refund I would like a refund on the USD $*** cost of the Blissful Mindspa Shirodhara machine. I understand that under the Australian Consumer Law, when I buy products and services they come with automatic guarantees that they will work and do what I asked for. It is not in my best interests to have a plumber fix the problem as any adjustments I make can be held against me. The warranty needs to be upheld.
