Mr*** purchased a *** Ftruck with XXXXXX milesThis truck was sold "AS IS" and multiple documents were signed stating what an "AS IS"
vehicle was and that no warranty expressed or implied of any kind would be included by the dealershipWe can provide those signed documents upon your requestMr*** received copies upon delivery
The vehicle did have a third party warranty from our oil supplierUnfortunately the first issue that arose was not covered under their planIn order to promote customer satisfaction, the management team on behalf of Mr***, convinced them to help cover $of the charges
Due to the "AS IS" condition of this unit, no further assistance will be forthcoming
We appreciate your bringing the matter to our attention

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/04/21) */
Dear Revdex.com,
Sorry for the delay, but we learned that Mr. [redacted] had scheduled a service appointment and our General Manager wanted to take the opportunity to speak with him in person. While no headway transpired from the meeting, we wanted to...

bring several matters to the Revdex.com's attention:
1) It is correct that he purchased an extended service contract at delivery. The warranty did not include the high tech package.
2) He developed an issue that would have been covered by the warranty if it had the rider. he inquired about upgrading the warranty to include said package. This was possible, but he was advised that the warranty company would not cover a pre-existing claim regardless if he upgraded.
3) He did write a check for $500 to our company. This was to pay a portion of the repair order on the uncovered repair. As a one-time good will gesture, our company covered the balance.
4) At no time did we advise Mr. [redacted] that we were going to upgrade the warranty. We simply asked him to pay a portion of the repair and that we would handle the rest as a one-time good will gesture.
When he visited our dealership our General Manager discussed the situation and fully advised him of the points above.
Sincerely,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/04/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
None of this is true. They said [redacted] found out I had an appointment so he wanted to talk to me then. Why didn't he call me and tell me that one and two why did I have to ask for him when I was at the appointment. [redacted] is full of lies.
I would never pay 500 to get something fixed on a car I had just purchased. I would talk to them about fixing without paying because it obviously didn't work when they sold it to me.
If this was true why didn't they try to explain it to me any of the times I called or came in over the past 3 years? And why would they not tell me when I was just in there or simply call me back to tell me that. They have done absolutely nothing to try to help me. In fact they have only talked to me now because I made a bad report on their business and now they're lying to cover it up. They tried to give me stories about why they didn't call back and those were lies as well. They told me he was out of the office for a family emergency but when I call twice he was there. And if it was true why didn't they say I'm sorry it might be a while because he's out of the office do to an emergency. Or why didn't they have someone else call me. 4 different people knew the situation any of them could have called and explained it to me but no one did. None of there lies make sense just cover ups so they don't have to fix there mistake. I did talk bad about them on Facebook but who wouldn't when they have been dealing with it for 3 years and no one would call me back or talk to me while I was there. They just always sent me away with it will be fixed tomorrow and we will call you. And what would be fixed and why would they tell me they would call the warranty dept. to get it fix when now there saying I agrees to pay 500 to have the DVD player fixed not the warranty. I never agreed to that and that was never told to me.
Also the last time I went in and talked to [redacted] he said he would have to get with [redacted] and see what happened because it was taken care of and fixed a long time ago. Again why would he say that if it was not true or what there are saying. He also told me to just make an appointment and when it comes in the service people will handle it and get it fixed.
I wouldn't be arguing this for 3 years if this was told to me. I'm not trying to get something for nothing. I'm trying to get what was truly told to me. Again if what they're saying is true why didn't they ever tell me this story anytime in the past 3 years and why did they never call me back to tell me this. Seems like simple customer service and a quick phone call. There only saying this now because of the compliant. If I never filed it they still wouldn't have told me this or called me back.
On 4/20 [redacted] tried paying me 100 out of his pocket to clear the issue up.
There is a lot of truth and facts that outweigh there story that they cannot defend and answer my questions of why to anything? They can't tell me why they didn't tell me or why they never called.
I just want the warranty fixed they can keep the money. I just want them to call the warranty dept. and add the electronics package I paid for.
The reason why we bought the warranty was [redacted] said there are a lot computers and electronics like navigation dvd player back up camera Now we don't have that coverage. Seems odd the only reason we bought it for isn't covered. You can ask [redacted] I didn't want the warranty at all and he and my wife talked me into because of electronics.
And it was explained to me when we discovered days after purchasing the van was I would pay 100 deductible for getting the did player fixed and they would act like the warranty company for this issue and 500 to have electronics added on to the warranty. That's it not that it was exactly 1000 to fix dvd player they would pay 500 and I would pay 500. And that resolved it. Remember I wanted the warranty for the luxury electronics because there were so many and expensive to fix. Even if I agreed to what they are saying I would have still wanted the warranty fixed in some other way or agreement not just go on without it.
I paid $100 for deductible and $500 for warranty coverage I paid them a total of $600. I asked him to get the paperwork for it where I signed for what they are saying and [redacted] said he would have to see if he could find it. That was on 4/20 and haven't heard anything since.
And it's not about the money because I could cancel the warranty because it doesn't cover luxury electronics and get 625 back. More than the 500 I paid. I just want what was sold to me and I purchased.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/14) */
Dear Revdex.com,
As stated in the complaint, we already addressed this issue with the Illinois States Attorney. We supplied signed documents showing:
1) The unit was purchased "As Is". Mr. [redacted] signed multiple documents explaining what an "As Is"...

purchased entailed.
2) We supplied them with the Carfax report that was date stamped and signed by Mr. [redacted] clearly showing the details of the report.
3) Lastly we included an invoice for repairs on the driveshaft, pinion bearings, and seals that our company covered when the extended service contract refused to cover the claim. We exceeded the "As IS" condition of the contract in order to promote customer satisfaction.
We did not and do not alter any paperwork on a vehicle transaction. We simply provided the States Attorney with the documents that were signed and witnessed by a business manager at the time of delivery.
If you have more questions, you can also refer to the States Attorney file number 2015-[redacted]-XXXXXXXX.
Sincerely,
Sam Leman CJD Morton
