service team tried to accommodate your request.  Our bather said she was willing to bath them.  The first cat was bathed with no issues.  The second cat did well for nails and the bather felt comfortable to do the bath.  Immediately when she turned on the water the cat panicked and scratched her on the arm and bite her on the hand. When you picked up the cats, your partner said this cat was afraid of the water when it was turned on at home during bath time.  You gave us no indication of this problem before we attempted the bath.   I said, if we had known we would have not tried the bath or given it to another bather that has more experience with cats. Because cat scratches or bites are highly susceptible to infection we sent the bather to the health clinic to get her wound cleaned and get antibiotics.   It is a Kentucky state law that doctors who care for bites from domestic animals have to report the incident to animal control so that they monitor for rabies. Owners are asked to quarantine their pet in their home for 10 days to make sure the pet does not have rabies. Both cats were put into a cat condo in the cat room so they would have a safe quite place to wait.  They chose to go into the litter box room adjacent to their condo where it is a dark smaller room.  This was their first bath outside of their home and can be scary for the first time.       Since this experience, we have decided to stop bathing cats unless they are already coming to us with no problems.  We do not want to put any pet or associate at risk.
