Sam The Concrete Man

My review
I would not recommend this company, (Sam the Concrete Man). The concrete in my driveway started flaking off after the fourth year. Their warrantee of one year is a joke. I spent $6200 for a driveway and steps that must be replace after just four years.

We are very sorry that you are having issues after four years. Issues of this nature do not arise after a driveway has been installed for four years unless something such as road salts or ice melt has been applied to the driveway and proper maintenance such as annual sealing has not been done. We cannot possible control what has happened to a four year old project but are happy to assist in finding and implementing a remedy. We will reach out to schedule a visit this week. We have been in business for 31 years for a reason. We are more than happy to help if possible.

I have only have one car. The side I never use shows the most crumbling. Some of the steps to my front door are also crumbing. So, it hardly can be from road salts. I never use ice melt, so it can’t be from that. The driveway was poured in November and I believe you did not use adequate blankets to guard against freezing. The first step to my front door was damaged before the concrete was cured. After arguing with your representative for several months it was finally replaced. That first step is still perfect. It has never shown any crumbing or cracking. The concrete for my sidewalks and gutters is older than my house, at least fifty years - no cracking or crumbling. Concretes in various forms have been used in construction since it was invented by the Romans in the 3rd century BC. All forms and types of concrete are in use today and if properly mixed and applied will last for many years. I spent over thirty years as an engineer for a major civil engineering firm building dams, power plants, and pumping plants. So I do know something about concrete. However, flat work concrete such as driveways and sidewalks must be protected from freezing when constructed in freezing temperatures. And it has been over a month since you said you would contact me regarding “assist (ing) in finding and implementing a remedy”.

Rudy did a great job working with me and changed the original contract due to foundation concerns. He was very professional and responded to my questions promptly.

I had a great experience with Sam the Concrete Man - Rudy was our main contact and even though the scheduling got a little messed up the day of the project he kept in contact with me and let me know what was going on. The crew who did the work was great , the work was done quickly and looks great. Would recommend and use again!

Sam the concrete was the only contractor who responded to our request for an estimate, was on site to start the work and completed the work with a very high level of professionalism. I am a retired general contractor with over 50 years experience. Sams Concrete crews did all the prep work without issues and complaints, kept us informed along the way,
Once the work was completed Sams crews left. the site clean and free of trash. I will use this firm again and would recommend them.

Our new driveway is, absolutely, BEAUTIFUL!!! The project was completed in three days, the crew was extremely professional and COURTEOUS!! A footnote: The General Manager, Mr. Peckman, was quite involved during the process and made sure we were CONTENT and SATISFIED at the end!! We will be more than happy to recommend SAM THE CONCRETE MAN to more people!!

Our driveway turned out amazing! Miguel really took his time to do a great job. They were easy to work with and had great communication with us. We will definitely be referring our friends and family to them.

I had a deck replaced with a stamped patio. Mike was on site for every step of the process. The crews and teams that worked each aspect were talented and efficient. This company has a huge selection of options, takes time to educate you on each, and then delivers. They get the job done and clean up after. They were on time every time, for each step. Most important, Mike listened to my concerns as to step size, color, etc. It is just perfect. Beautiful. This company makes it easy and fun to do business with them.

Had 4 concrete slabs of sidewalk done and I am extremely happy with the work done. Thank you all very much, would highly recommend using them!

We had such a great experience!! The project manager even did an estimate the day of our project when we wanted to expand the parameters, and it was finished in the same time frame. The crews working here were great. Polite, hard working and answered all of my questions. Can’t recommend this place enough

I would recommend using Sam the Concrete Man for your concrete needs. Had my driveway, front stairs, porch and walkway redone. They were very professional and did everything they promised. Mostly it looks great!!

Sam The Concrete Man charged our credit card for a completed job before it was finished. Per the agreed upon contract of services, Sam The Concrete Man was to demolish and remove an existing concrete patio and install a new concrete patio. The responsibility of filling in any removed dirt was also outlined in the contract. We were charged the full amount of the job before the old patio was hauled away and are still left with approximately 600 square feet, that is also approximately 4 inches deep, of dirt that needs to be filled. We are unable to use our new patio as it is completely surrounded by mud because of this.

Just had my stamped concrete entry resealed. Worked with Mike Wolf. He was great. Showed up on three different occasions when he was suppose to. Did the work as promised and the result was better than expected. Office assistant was also very communicative.

I hired Sam the concrete man to pour a patio slab in my back yard. The work was 1st class. The concrete looks incredible. I was able to get in touch with them easily. Very professional work and people!

Sam the Concrete Man: We just have had our front steps, 2 walkways, garage and driveway redone. And we give these guys a 10" for what they accomplished. The crew ...every last one of them were so professional, so hard working, so creative in designing our new semi circular front stairs. Just beautiful.
They arrive ready to work and dont stop or slow down all day or any day its an amazing thing to watch and we can not recommend them more highly. We had an engineer come to see it when complete and he said" I have seen alot of cement poured but this is the best I have ever seen. It is exceptional work."
