 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear [redacted]
First, let
me take this opportunity to thank you for your attempt in finding a resolution
to our issue with this organization.
[redacted],
the response from Sam’s floors and remodeling is not only is unacceptable, but
quite shocking. He opens his response claiming that he made several attempts to
complete the job. Yes he made two attempts, first by sending one crew who
refused to perform any job before we removed all our furniture and the second
two men who claimed they are licensed but did not appear to be competent and
did not possess the required tools.
We contacted
Sami A[redacted] countless number of times and left messages but our attempt to reach
him were all ignored by him. If as he claims, that he made several attempts to
resolve, the first and the most rational resolution would have been that he
returned our calls. It is his own irresponsible abandonment that led us to
contact the authorities. His claim of several attempts is simply a fabrication.
When Sami
A[redacted] initially visited our home to evaluate the job, he clearly saw all the future
(we had 8 heavy and large wooden furniture) that were wrapped in plastic for
protection and he agreed to move them when he actually started the sanding job.
When his first crew arrived, complained about the furniture and refused to
perform any removal.  With sincere thoughts we hired another crew and
payment can be produced as proof with a copy of the check paid. We took this
extra step in order to get the job done. The second crew ([redacted] Floors) that arrived initially demanded that we pay them
direct. They could not show us any proof that they were licensed. We requested
for their business cards because they claimed they are a different company, at which
point he said he does not carry business cards. He actually hand-wrote his
details on a piece of paper. We suspected them and asked if they were licensed.
They claimed yes and also mentioned that they were in business for 20 years,
but it was hard to believe. We still needed to contact Sami A[redacted] to find out
about this new company who was asking us to pay them direct and he was
unavailable. During the conversation [redacted], who called himself the
owner requested to see the electrical panel and explained that he needed to
pull the fuse box out and pug-in live wires into it. [redacted], when we had
concerns about his eligibility and ability to handle our job, we became
absolutely concerned about his need to tamper with the electrical panel. He was
clearly un-insured, and we feared about our safety. We were absolutely
uncomfortable with this crew and the fact that Sami A[redacted] was completely
unreachable, we could not let this company proceed. Therefore they left our
house.
As Sami
A[redacted] thinks, we did not expect the floor repairers to be electricians. The
very reason we could not authorize tampering of the electrical panel box. As a
matter of fact, the crew we hired to complete Sami Ahadi’s unfinished job had a
special cable that was plugged to our dryer power outlet. This made us very
clear that what [redacted] Floors crew who
did not possess the required tools was simply not competent to do our job.
As you see,
this is how Sami A[redacted] claims that he attempted to resolve. He simply failed to
understand that we hired him and got into a contract with him to complete the
job. He is in absolute breach of his own contract by sending different
unlicensed crew. Sami A[redacted] was very irresponsible in sending unlicensed crew,
whom in our belief would have been a cheap solution to get out from our job.
Sami Ahadi
further claims that he stands strong behind his work. If he truly does, then
why did he run away with our money?
Furthermore,
we find his claims so completely fabricated. He claims that there is a charge
of $180.00 for removal of the old cabinets.  [redacted], he did this work
absolutely voluntarily. His motivation to do this was actually two folds. The
company we contracted to build our new kitchen was supposed to remove the old
kitchen and the cabinets. Sami A[redacted] volunteered to remove, so he could get
started on the job earlier. Furthermore, by removing he requested that we gave
him our old dishwasher and the gas range. As you may have seen in the
original contract, he was not contracted to do any removal. Neither did we
solicit his services to remove the cabinets for a fee.  If so, why did he
do? It was only for his own benefit.
Also, he
claims that he incurred a cost of sending crews. He did not have our approval
to send unlicensed workers. We were already feeling that Sami A[redacted] was
cheating us and not returning our calls. We simply did not feel comfortable
with strangers. The best action would have been that he first contacted us and
advised that his people were arriving. He was in the hiding and letting
strangers visit us. His claim of $700.00 is not only unacceptable but is a
complete display of his shady nature of a businessman. He acted in a very irresponsible
manner, by just sending different people without any communication with us.
There are
companies who subcontract, but they still communicate with the client. But Sami
A[redacted] simply disappeared without any update or advice of any of his plans. Even
after refusing his second crew, we attempted to contact him, but he failed to
return our calls. It is absolutely evident that he simply took our money and disappeared.
The biggest
fabrication is that he claims he and his crew are licensed companies. We know
very well that Sami Ahadi’s Sam’s Floors and Remodeling’s business license
expired a few years ago. Virginia Licensing and Contracting office / agency
confirmed this to us. Moreover, they do not possess any license to operate in
Maryland at all, even though he claims. This was confirmed by the Maryland Consumer
Protection Agency.
[redacted],
as you see, this businessman’s response is a total fabrication. He has his false
claims that he is licensed when he is clearly not. Unfortunately we did not
know that we could check on businesses about their eligibility before. Had we
known, we would not have entered into a contract with him the first place. Therefore,
we earnestly request you to re-evaluate the situation, so that fairness can be
restored.
We greatly
appreciate your effort in finding a resolution . Our original request from you
still stands same for a refund of $1900.00 from Sam's Flooring and Remodeling.
Thank you
Sincerely
[redacted]

Regards,
[redacted]
