I brought my father to DrC*** at the San Antonio Neuropathy Center about months ago He has severe neuropathy in his feet for past years, even though he's not a diabetic His family doctor told him that it was permanent and gave him Lyrica for the pain The medication does not work well so I took my dad to see DrC***, after seeing his commercial My dad's pain went down by 50% in his first month of treatment and he didn't need to take his pain meds any more because the pain was bearable and his balance improved He just finished treatment with Dr C and he has no pain now He was using a cane to be able to walk and now he doesn't need it I noticed a big change in my dad's attitude now that he's feeling better He's happy again and is active, even at years old I'm so grateful to the San Antonio Neuropathy Center and DrC*** They gave my dad back quality to his life Thank you! Thank you!

I have been a customer of DrJohn C*** at the San Antonio Neuropathy Center since September 10, Because of the television advertising stating of the over 90% patient satisfaction with the program, I decided to give it a try Unfortunately, after Months of faithfully being on the program, it hasn't worked for me I'm Years of age, living on only Social Security, I can't afford hopes and programs that don't work for me This clinic does not accept United Health Care, which is my health insurance, so I'm out $1,for the equipment and pills Please look into this matter and bring a viable solution to this situation Thank you Lila C*** ***

The patient was informed that we could not verify insurance over the phone but would do a complementary benefit check when they arrive for their evaluationWe also explained the the $fee was a promotional offer for a consultationThe doctor conducted a thorough medical evaluation
After the evaluation, the patient was told that their insurance unfortunately would not cover the necessary treatmentIt's unfortunate that in this day and age insurance is getting more expensive with higher deductibles and less coverage.Ultimately the patient is the one that suffersWe empathize with the patientWe offer an extremely low promotional offer of $so the patient can be evaluated and we also do a complimentary benefit checkThe doctor will spend - minutes with the patient assessing their condition and another staff member will spend -minutes on the phone with an insurance company to verify benefits for the patient.
It ends up costing our office a lot more than $to see this patientWe do this as a community outreach because we are passionate about reaching out to patients who need the careWe spend a significant amount of time educating them and giving them safer options to drugs and surgery.
Sincerely,
San Antonio Neuropathy Center

The doctor reviewed the patients medical history by reviewing intake paper work and discussing the patients history in more detail while in the consultation. The patient was then given treatment options based on the medical history. Although no one timed the consultation with a stop watch, the doctor spends as much time as necessary to ascertain a diagnosis.
On the contrary, we cannot determine medical benefits over the phone. Most of our patients are Medicare patients. Coverage varies from one person to the next depending on primary and secondary insurance plans. Calling insurance plans takes anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes and is a courtesy that is extend to patients who come in for an evaluation.
I am empathize with the patient. He is upset because he wanted to know ahead of time if his insurance would cover the care or not. We could not determine this over the phone. This is why we offer an extremely low evaluation fee. It gives us a chance to determine if we can help the patient and to determine if there's insurance coverage. The doctor was able to evaluate the patients peripheral neuropathy by reviewing the medical history and offer treatment options. Unfortunately, the patient was upset because his insurance does not cover the care offered by our facility.
The time taken to assess his medical condition and do an insurance verification was equivalent to several hundred dollars when you take in account doctors time, front desk staff time and billing staff's time.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:They said insurance coverage must be checked. All Medicare coverage is the same. No secondary Medicare coverage will cover if Medicare does not.
also there was no exam. The time ,less than seven minutes ,was spent reading questions already answered on the information sheets and trying to convince me to self pay. Again that is why you were required to PREPAY. Most people wouldn't pay if they had heard this SCAM first.
any responsible Dr. Would not do that and should refund patients who are not pleased with services.
The response to my complaint should be clear, a continuation of their SCAM
Ever see a REAL Dr. Protest over $25!! Think not!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I have received treatment from Dr. M[redacted]. Not only did she take her time to explain, teach, and advise me on how to improve my health, she did so out of consideration for my time and money. She showed me that she really cared about how I was doing. I have had marked improvements in my health after following her advice. I am impressed by her knowledge and expertise in the areas of healthy lifestyle, detoxification, nutrition, and proper supplementation.

I am filing a complaint against the San Antonio Neuropathy Center and Dr John C[redacted]. I have Neuropathy in my legs and was told by my doctor that there was no cure. I saw an advertisement on a local TV station that the San Antonio Neuropathy Center could correct the problem. I visited Dr C[redacted] and he said I was a good candidate with his procedure. This involved six months of treatment which included nerve stimulation electrodes and boots with ultra red lights to stimulate and heal the nerves in my legs. I also took NEURO GEN supplements prescibed by Dr C[redacted]. After six month, there has been no improvement. This procedure is not cover by MEDICARE and not approved by them thereby having to pay over $3400.00 out of my pocket. I requested a refund but got none. This company is targeting senior citizens who have this problem and they should be made aware. Neuropathy is normally caused by having Diabetes of which I do not have. Dr C[redacted] said I should stop taking my Cholesterol medication because he believed that was the cause of my nerve damage. I have been of my Zocor for five months and my Cholesterol has rose over 100 points. I believe this company is a fraud and something should be done about them.
