San-Co Concrete Reviews (1)

Review: I had a driveway poured in Feb of 2014 and my concern was to keep water from away from house as I explained to Ivan.Once driveway was poured, the first rain we got flooded out my back patio. the driveway is sloped towards my house drastically, I contacted sanco and he asked me what to do. I wanted it redone and sloped away from house. H added a pony wall to block water from floodind my patio and added a small curb along house to make water run down driveway. The driveway is so un even it puddles in several areas and has several major cracks which occurred after 3 months. Sanco said it was normal.im afraid to park my truck on it. Having a shed installed today and you can really see how uneven driveway is. I tried to contact [redacted] and since the year is up he hasn't returned my call. I had another company look at it and they said it was amateur work. I paid 7500.00 for this mess.Desired Settlement: I want my driveway done properly or complete refund so I can have a professional do this properly.I donot want Sanco back due to nature of workmanship. I can get quote to correct if needed. To correct with exceed the 7500.00 I paid

Response:

Dear Revdex.com, As a professional company owner, I take all my customers really seriously to meet all there needs. My company's reputation is my number one priority. I do remember is particular project because of the amounts of grading and dirt work that we had to do. As you can see in the pictures attached, this driveway is from the back wall all the way to the front of this property. It's an approx. 100 LF Long. Now, Its nearly impossible to get the flow of the water to go towards the front without raising the back part to a higher ground level. Which the customer wanted as flat because of a future storage shed mentioned. I did mention to the customer that I would try to slope as much possible in order to prevent flooding. He did contact me when we had that storm last year when I-10 got flooded. So, I did install a pony wall without any additional cost to meet his need. After that, I had not heard from him until now. Regarding the crack, I was not contacted by him. My 1 yr warranty would have covered for those cracks. I don't understand why wait so long to mention any cracks when you have a certain time in warranty. This concrete driveway was completed since Feb. 20, 2014. Its been nearly 1 yr and 6 months. I am positive this customer was completely satisfied at that time. My crews work with the same professionalism as always and will continue to do so as I don't accept anything less. I am sorry if the customer feels this way towards my company.San-Co Concrete LLC[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This is an ongoing problem that [redacted] was made aware of the first week after the driveway was installed. The pictures of a recently installed shed provides evidence that the job was not completed correctly. The driveway slopes towards the house, there are uneven areas where water puddles and there is excessive cracking in those areas. You can see the water marks where water puddles in uneven areas after every rainfall. I made [redacted] aware of the cracks and he said that some cracking was normal. I understand that some cracking would occur but they are exaggerated by the water puddling in the uneven spots. The water also flows directly toward the house which I expressly told [redacted] I wanted to avoid. I understand that the warranty expired a few months ago but with infrequent rainfall and [redacted] not returning phone calls (within the warranty timeframe) we have come to this point. The point is the driveway was not completed correctly. The objective was to direct water away from the house and it does exactly the opposite, directing water towards the house. And because of the uneven areas there is excessive cracking all over the driveway where the water puddles. The job was not completed to my satisfaction and I want the driveway to be fixed or my money back so that I can pay someone to do it right.
