San Diego Airport Rent-A-Car Reviews (2)

Review: I'm currently "renting to own" a vehicle from San Diego Rent a Car. Upon driving off with this vehicle in April of 2013, there has been many issues & repairs needed. Originally no gas cap (finding this out at a gas station), shaking violently (thinking it needed an alignment when in fact it was the axle that needed replacing), bald tires (wires sticking out upon having a flat in my garage), and the check engine light that has came on four times since I have been driving the vehicle since 4/22/13. The issue at hand is the check engine light that has continuously come on and the repairs not being done. I've gone in four times for the same thing, and yet this problem has NOT been resolved. The owner tells me that I am "renting to own" and that "regular" maintenance is my responsibility. According to the DMV, this company is not in compliance with the maintenance of their vehicle (they are the registered owner) and that repairs are their responsibility due to the fact that there is something wrong with this vehicle I am currently driving.I have left the vehicle for hours to have this repair done, and nothing in fact was done as the light keeps coming on. As it is on now.I don't know what kind of business is being ran at this establishment, but I don't think they are good to their customers at all, nor do they take care of their fleet of cars properly. The DMV informed me that this company is responsible for the repairs that are needed before the title is transferred. I've also went to an outside mechanic twice out of the four times for this check engine light. Both times the codes were the same. Codes [redacted] (Evap system large leak & P0456 (Evap system: very small leak)The last time I was there, the office visit got very ugly as the owner was now passing me onto to someone else who was still telling me they weren't responsible for the repair. They know that this vehicle will not pass smog until the repairs are done and that is what I want since I am technically "renting to own" the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I either want a FULL refund for the car that I am currently "renting to own" or I want all of the necessary repairs done PROPERLY to this vehicle prior to the transfer of the title. This does not include "resetting" the check engine light knowing that after driving 50 miles or so, the light will pop on again. Four brand new tires and an alignment done. (Three out of the four tires were bad with wires sticking out, so I had to buy four used tires at that time. This was NOT a safe car to drive.
