San Diego Appliance Repair Services Reviews (8)

This company had zero customer service. Answered "Hi" as their greeting. Called them back to cancel the appliance maintenance call after not getting a good feeling and they did not answer. Called 3 more times and once they picked up, I explained the situation to the person he said "ok...then stop calling and hung up".

Review: On 09/09/2013, I called and scheduled worked on my one year old stove. The two burners on the left side do not light. The tech came and diagonosed that it was a new spark modular and it will going to cost $229.00 to repair. I asked him to try to unclog the burner heads first before doing repair. He refuse and give me some excuse reason that does not even make sense. I feel very uncomfortable and decide to call another company to be sure. The new company tech said this is a minor maintainence issue and all you need to is to unclog the the burner port with a small wire. As for the the spark module, the stove has spark and it is in good shape. No needs to repair. This is bad unethical business practice. luckily I have some idea about stove. otherwise, I already pay for a part I never need. Or worst, they could sold me back my own part. I called the company manager [redacted], but the issue still not resolve.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my $69 back because he mis-diagnose and bad business practice.

Review: They are inept and we have concerns about the skill set of their workmen and professionalism of the company. Their website also makes promises of 7/24 service but they don't answer phones or messages on weekends. Should have been a clue for us.

Despite evidence of a leak that had warped floorboard under our refrigerator, their repairman said there was no problem. When the leak continued, we called him back out and this time he conceded there was a problem. He made an appointment two days later to replace a part.

He didn't show up and didn't call. When we called the company, they said the part wasn't in. They didn't show us in the system. And then gave us an estimate of $249. When I asked about crediting our $59.99 charge -- which was to be waived if service done -- they finally 'magnanimously' agreed to do so.

Couldn't understand why we were upset they hadn't showed up or called.

Based on their track record, we have no confidence in their diagnosis, their ability to complete the repair or to show up. Their service worker showed up in a personal car with his girlfriend last time.

Scam? Rip-off? Inept? We're sure their nice-looking website has sucked others in.

Revdex.com - please flag them.Desired Settlement: We would appreciate refund of their $59.99 charge.

Review: I requested a service call for a failed igniter switch for a Viking stove back in January 16, 2014 at which time the service fee was collected of $65. The tech said that they would order the part but that never happened. They collected the money and never returned a call. I've been trying to reach the manager of the business a [redacted] based on what the operator says is the manager but he is "never" available. This is a fraudulent business. I just set up a P.O. Box in the same building at 325 W. Washington St. Suite 2B and no one is at this location.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for this service call.

Review: "San Diego Appliance repair Services (619) 821-2103. FREE estimates with repair, same day, weekend and holiday service at no extra charge!"

This is what they advertise. The "Tech" came out looked at my Washer and he said he didn't see anything wrong with the washer machine? And requested $60 and didn't leave a receipt. My washer still broke water runs and washer doesn't fill up. My husband called the company back and the rep tried to contact the tech then told my husband he would call him back. 2 hours later no call from company, nor did the tech show up. My husband called the company back and rep said tech just got back and he would send him back out tomorrow . My husband asked about the receipt and the rep stated he would email it to him. The rep didn't ask for his email and my husband didn't give it to him before. Basically we paid $60 for him to come out and Say there is nothing wrong with the washer. Later on my husband went back to the site only to read all BAD reviews for this company. All with the same thing that happened to us.Desired Settlement: Please Shut Them Down! The business needs to be flagged online. They are falsely advertising and not a real business. Realized it's a .net company and NOT the .com which is a legitimate business. They are scamming us consumers

Review: Technician arrives, spends 5 minutes looking at Sub Zero refrigerator ice maker and sys it need a new ice maker, due to voltage to unit, says has to order, will take one week, and needs a $200 deposit to order part and total bill will be $600. After first week passes we call 3 times in the second week and operator says tech will call back, never calls, 2 more phone calls that week and no response, then after 16 days they say part is backordered and will be in in a few days. We decide that we don't want them to work on our appliance and talk to a [redacted] demanding our deposit back, already cashed check, [redacted] says part is there and there will be 20% restocking fee and part cost $450. So $90 plus $59 service call we would get $51 in return. We call Authorized Sub Zero repair, tech takes about 50 minutes to check appliance and finds that inlet line has frozen, ice maker is good, defrosts inlet line and ice maker works fine. New tech also says cost of new ice maker is $270 not $450 and his final charge for call and repair is $171. Mr. [redacted] refuses to take any more calls, operator continually says he is not in.Desired Settlement: Want refund of deposit minus their service call, $141, he lied about the price of the part and did not communicate throughout the entire time with any information.

Review: Called on 1-17-13 to repair built in microwave. Repair tech showed up 4 hrs later and took microwave apart and inspected to find the problem (would not operate). Told my wife it needed a door latch assy. He need to order and need a deposit of $200.00 to order. Total bill would be around $400.00. My wife wrote a check for $200.00. Same repair tech came back about 4 weeks later and installed the new parts. It still did not work and he competely tore it apart. He said he thought the "motherboard" was bad but not sure. Finally said he could not fix it and we should call for a refund. I have been calling and e mailing for refund since then. Have talked to [redacted] & [redacted] said he sent a check 2 months ago but we never recieved it. Will not talk to me anymore and and juct continue to get the run around. The NEVER call back. Oh by the way Sears came out and found a blown fuse in less then a half hour. Total cost was $167.00 and fixed on the spot.Desired Settlement: Would like my deposit of $200.00 refunded

Business

Response:

The check for $200 has been cashed by [redacted] on June 10, 2013

Review: I own a [redacted] refrigerator/freezer. The icemaker in the freezer stopped working approximately 1 month ago. I contacted Ameripro Appliances, Inc., also known as San Diego Appliance and Repair and arranged for a service call on March 25, 2013.The technician came to my home on March 25, 2013 and informed me that I needed a new icemaker and stated that he had one in the car. He went outside to retrieve the icemaker and when he returned, I noticed that the packaging on the icemaker said WOLF, not Viking. I asked the technician why he was putting a Wolf product into my [redacted] freezer and he told me that they were all interchangeable. He removed the factory-installed unit and then proceeded to try and fit the Wolf product into my freezer. The Wolf product would not fit and he then proceeded to try and bend the end pieces of the icemaker to make it fit. When this was not successful, he took the icemaker outside and proceeded to bang it against the brickwork on my front patio. I opened the front door to see exactly what he was doing and then he just shut the front door and went on banging the unit against the brick to alter its shape. He then came back in and put the Wolf product into my freezer. He told me small adjustments are sometimes required and that I should have ice in 24hours and if I did not, I should call the office, as another part may need to be replaced as well.Twenty-four hours passed and I did not have ice. On March 26, I called the company spoke to the person at the dispatch office and related the details I have documented above. He put me on hold and came back on the line and stated that I would have to resolve this matter with the technician personally. We have tried to call the technician, the supervisor Michael and the main office daily and no one will return our calls, refund our money or fix the icemaker. We continue to call daily and still we are without resolution or ice.Desired Settlement: We want a refund of the charges of $502.80 and/or a proper [redacted] icemaker in functioning order installed into our freezer.
