San Diego Christian College Reviews (2)

Review: My private college is enforcing a policy that not only isn't mentioned in the course catalog or the specific department's handbook, but conflicts with what is stated in the course catalog and student handbook. They are enforcing a policy from their "policy manual" (which a policy manual is never mentioned in the course catalog) that isn't readily accessible to students and was never made available to me. I only learned of the policy manual and the policy when my counselor emailed it to me, informed me of the policy, and that I would no longer be eligible for graduation. This email came a month and a half after I had finished the course. They insisted that I retake the course (that I passed according to the course catalog and student handbook) and initially wanted me to pay to retake it. Throughout the entire ordeal I've been met with unprofessionalism, animosity, and criticism.Desired Settlement: I want them to honor what is said in the course catalog 2012- 2013 and APS Student Handbook 2011-2013 concerning retaking a core course, or if not, waive the conflicting policy. This would enable my degree to be conferred. They also need to make this unbeknownst policy manual known and readily accessible to students.

Review: This school should literally be shut down or it should be taken over by honest people who pride themselves in communicating with one another. I attended this school for about 3 years. I am active duty military. Even though I am active duty military and I am CONSTANTLY in the field training and working, I managed to maintain all A's throughout my academic career here. Back in April, I spoke to someone who was supposed to be my graduation coach name [redacted], I told her that after the semester I would only have two classes left and that I was concerned because financial aid is only awarded to people who are considered full time students (to my knowledge). I was assured that because I would only have two classes left to complete my degree that financial aid would cover them. But now, in October, now that I am done with the program, I am being told by another person that in order to get my degree and transcripts released, I have to pay about $2500.

This is ridiculous and bad business because I made sure to ask about my financial aid benefits due to the fact that I do not just have $2500 laying around to pay for school. But apparently there is "nothing they can do" and they "are sorry I received wrong information".

But wait, this isn't all. In July, when I was close to completing my spring semester, I noticed that my graduation coach hadn't registered me for the fall semester. Once I got in touch with someone at the school, I was told that the courses I needed to graduate were not being offered this semester and that I would have to wait!! I literally had to raise my voice and get angry for the classes to be made available to me. Back in April when I asked about financial aid covering my final two classes, I was told by [redacted] and [redacted] that I will have completed my degree by September.

These people are conniving. They only want a student's money. They don't care if they give you wrong information as long as they get paid. I wish there was more space here!Desired Settlement: Somehow my last two classes need to be paid for. I should not be made to come up with $2500 because the staff here gave me wrong information. I should not have to delay entering into my Master's Program because they didn't care to be honest with me the first time we discussed this matter.
