Thank you for taking the time to review this and for your assistanceWhen I visited Mrs***s home I was very specific I had tried filing the paperwork myself and had failed to properly do soI was paying for he knowledge in the matter because I did not want the paperwork to come back due to erroneous preparationWhen I scheduled my appointment over the phone she advised me it was a flat rateNo hourly billing We met at her home after work hours, her kids were around which I did not mind because I trusted her to be capable of working in that situation so I went ahead and paid her the $despite constant interruptions. She said to have completed my paperwork and I left and filed the documents the next business dayMy documentation came back on 10/items were filled incorrectly and others were incompleteThe service I had paid for was not doneI called her immediately and she requested me to send her the scanned documents that were returned which I did right awaySee attachment "Email Capture"There was no responseI called almost daily for a week and she kept on saying I would have an answer by the end of the dayOn the morning of my hearing date she called at 6am, emailed me later with which were supposed to be the corrected documents and said my hearing should not be delayedMy hearing was delayed until July of 2017, my paperwork still had errorsI had to take the remaining of my day off work to correct them with a court worker that reviewed them with me. Good morning [redacted]:I am in receipt of your correspondence dated Wednesday, November 2, 2016.  [redacted] came to my house to retain services to prepare documents for her dissolution proceedings.  I charged a flat rate rather than a normal hourly paralegal rate.  Currently I...

work for a law firm in Downtown, SD.  I am a paralegal at one of the prestigious law firms in Downtown and I work from the hours of 8 am to 5 pm.  I informed her that if she wishes to meet me after hours to prepare her said documents, it will have to be when I got off work wherefore she had agreed.She paid me a flat rate and I prepared her documents and had it filed.  On my billing invoice, it is listed as document preparer rather than paralegal.  When she had contacted me that the court had kicked back her documents because there was several errors on it, I had informed her to scan and email it to me and that I would make the following corrections and send back to her.I had even called her at 6:00 am one morning to prepare extra documents free of charge just in case the court requested it.  Without knowing why it was rejected, I could not make the corrections as requested.  Normally, when the court rejects a packet, they send you a slip on what needs to be corrected; however client did not provide me with the following information.I did try my best to make the client happy; however, client is upset because she had to spend her whole entire day at the court to make the following corrections.I do not run a business so therefore this complaint is erroneous and therefore should be dismissed. Furthermore, I have offered to give her $200 back where she is demanding her whole money back.  I cannot give her whole entire money back nor even half of it due to the fact that there was time spent on preparing of said documents; however she can receive $200 back.  I have tried to communicate with her; however, she is not forthwilling to even compromise.  Please try to get a hold of her and inform her that my offer of $200 refund still stands; however, anything more, I can't refund her due to the hours spent on working her documents.Notwithstanding, this is not a business I am running.  I just offer my services as a document preparer for those who cannot afford to retain an attorney.    Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thank you.  If you need exhibits for your records, please let me know at once and I will send them over to you once I get home.  [redacted]
