San Diego Jet Ski Rental

Review: We expected to pay $250/ski for a full day rental - we asked for insurance, but they did not offer it. So when we rented it out we made sure to follow all their safety precautions and ski handling instructions, we even took pictures and recorded a video of all the damages (scratches, chips, gouges, etc.) before checking it out.

We only signed and authorized the charge for 2 ski rentals and the deposit (for gas, and not crashing or causing engine damage to the skis). The charges authorized was $540 and $40 for gas (even though we had already stopped by the gas station to fill both tanks - but they filled the gas until it spilled outta the tank!). The real issue is that they are now charging us an additional $720!!!

We disputed their charge of $720 for two "new" damages that they accused us for doing. These damages are two 1-2 inch scratches/dings and they are saying its a safety issue that must be repaired and it costs $720 to repair it. All the while, when we were using the jet skis that day, there were plenty of these gouges/scratches/dents/cracks and worse of all, a non-functional speedometer!!! How are we suppose to know how fast we are going, in the 5 mph wake zones, etc.? This poses more of a safety issue!

We disputed the charge with the merchant, but they ganged up on us, 4 male workers (my wife is a petite asian woman) forced her to sign off on the check out sheet (while I was getting the car), that had the damages listed on it, and even the extra $720 charge for them. I tried my best to dispute them for 30 minutes, but they were closing and were very persistent in having me sign the paperwork, though I did not agree, accept or authorize those additional charges, that are more than the cost of rental itself!

Considering there were so many damages when we rented it out, they are practically pocketing the erroneous and bogus overcharges, and not even repairing the Jet Skis. To top it all off, this all happened on my wifes birthday, and they showed ZERO empathy.Desired Settlement: Please adjust the billing total. You already have my rental money and gas money that "runneth over" even though I already stopped by the gas station to fill up. But please, refund me the $720 for damages that were not caused by me or my wife. Please let me know how we can process this billing adjustment and put this behind us. Thank you!

Review: I rented a jet ski and an inner tube from this business on 5/16/15. This was a one hour rental. The innertube deflated on the water after only 2 rides. I then called the business to notify them but continued our jet ski rental for the remainder of the hour. Upon returning the jet ski and innertube, the owner demanded that I pay $75 for the deflated tube. There was an obvious defect of the tube at the seam where the plastic split.

I refused to accept the charge for a new tube and the owner told me that I was "suspicious" and screamed at me. I then told him not to yell or to look at me while being condescending and he physically intruded my personal space and threatened me while yelling at me. I told him that I was going to call the police because I felt this argument was going to result in a fist fight. He then backed down and walked away. I have NEVER in my life been treated so poorly by a person, or a business. He was boorish, rude, unreasonable, and THREATENED A CUSTOMER WHILE SCREAMING. He still charged my credit card for the extra $75, which I will now have to dispute because he CHARGED ME FOR A DEFECTIVE RENTAL.Desired Settlement: A refunded charge of $75 and an apology.
